  • Custom Shop Fender Stratocaster Late 64 Limited Edition with Hand-Wound Fat 60s - A modern 2022 Build that Captures the 1960s vibe... I love it!
    In a previous video I spoke about my Custom Shop Fender Stratocaster Limited Edition 1950s model from the Fender Custom Shop 2022 series, and you can see that particular guitar review here - ( • UB:16 Fender Custom Sh... )
    This week I move into the 1960s. In this video I take a look at the Custom Shop Fender Stratocaster Limited Edition Late 64 model from the Fender Custom Shop 2022 series. While most of the guitar is of a vintage styling it does sport the 5 blade selector switch which did not appear until later in the 1970s but is a welcome addition in my opinion. This Stratocaster comes with a very comfortable sculpted ‘C’ neck profile, 21 Narrow Tall frets 6105 fret-wire and is an absolute joy to play. Once again, this guitar is from the relic collection and it’s something you will either love or hate. For those interested in relic guitars I did a video on the topic of relic and customised guitars and you can see that particular review here - ( • V9: Playing Guitar 40 ... ).
    Hand-wound Fat 60s pick-ups complete this particular model and for those interested I have also done a comparison video with Stratocaster Fat 50s, Fat 60s, Texas Specials and Mod V1 pick-ups, you can see that review here - ( • Q&A:4 Fender Stratocas... ). While this is not an exhaustive review and test, it will give anyone interested in this type of guitar offering from the Fender Custom Shop an idea of what it’s all about... Enjoy!

      Hi Amin, as always many thanks for the encouragement, always appreciated. It's that time of year again when everyone comes down with colds and stuff... chicken soup with garlic and ginger is great for a cold as well as hot lemon drinks. I have had a lot on my plate these past 2 weeks but have not forgotten your question... so I will answer in a few days. Everyone has regrets Amin... if we can learn from them, that is at least something positive. Have a great weekend, take care and I'll reply in due course... Regards: Stu

      Hi Tosh - You are most welcome... looking forward to catching up. Thanks for the kind comments on the videos. No, I did not get any email from you. Here is my channel email -stuguitarchannel(at)gmail.com. Just replace the (at) with @ - I have to write it that way on an open message platform otherwise you get a lot of spam bots. Message me once you have emailed and I'll let you know I received it. Have a good weekend...Regards: Stu

      @@TOSHROSEWELL Hi Tosh, got your email ;-) - but I only got one. Not sure where the other 3 went? Were you sending to the email address I gave above? Sometimes TH-cam does some strange things and you get various glitches which is a bit of a pest as it's sometimes difficult to know when some folks try to message one another. Got there in the end, thanks for persevering... Regards: Stu

    Oh my. I bought last week a limited edition late 64 relic sunburst just like yours. Is a great great guitar. I agree on every single word. She has this lively tone that I love.

      Hi Stefano - Thanks for taking time to comment. Congratulations on your purchase, as you say... it is a very nice guitar to play and is versatile in tone. Don't know if you watched my pervious video on my 50s relic Strat, but I will be looking at a couple more over the Christmas period. Do feel free to share your own thoughts and experiences on your purchase... regards: Stu

      @@StuGuitarChannellooking forward to the next guitars. I have seen the 54. I have a great Mexican 54 with vintage frets and a nice soft v. I love it but the late 64 wins in terms of tone. Particularly with the bridge that in the 54 is too harsh.

    • @StuGuitarChannel
      @StuGuitarChannel  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@stefanocapomaccio Yep... I find I need to use the tone controls more and change my amp settings to suit the tone I'm looking for when using the 50s Strat. Course, if your into playing the 1950s era music it's great for that straight out of the case. Do let me know if I am missing anything in regard to these reviews as sometimes it can be difficult to know what folks are wanting to know - everyone is different in what they are searching for... regards: Stu

      @@StuGuitarChannel if I may, the shootout of pickups for example can be better orchestrated: choose a "reference guitar" and compare the same exact lick (very short) with the other ones, for the same selector position. And repeat the reference multiple times. This - to me -is very helpful in pinpointing the nuances of guitars. I like the channel though.
