This series is a record of my journey after a 40 year break from playing guitar semi-professionally in the ‘70s, changing career in the 80s and ending up director of a multi-media studio. In that role, I’ve been involved with music production and sound design, but in recent years as I took semi-retirement, I’ve enjoyed picking up the guitar once more to appreciate both the joy of playing and writing new material to record. But, if like me you’re also playing again after a long break, you too may be scratching your head at the bewildering amount of product out there. So as I’m in the business of film-making, I thought it would be useful to video my experience of catching up - and I also provide the backing tracks I use to demonstrate the guitars. For those just starting out, you may find the videos helpful, for the rest of you - you might just find them entertaining. 😉 Get in touch with your own experiences and tips - and remember to subscribe, hit the bell and all that stuff! Enjoy!
UB44: Grossmann FATBOX Isolation Cabinet – Excessive Amplifier Volume Sorted? Are They Worth it?
Grossmann FATBOX Isolation (ISO) Cabinet - A Simple But Effective Solution For Any Recording Studio.
For those who prefer the organic tones you get with a speaker cabinet mic’d up, excessive amplifier volume needs to be controlled, particularly when setting valve amplifiers to their sweet spot. Not everyone has a sound-proofed bunker they can isolate their speaker cabinets, and colourisation from excessive attenuation boxes alters the tone too much.
Enter the isolation box. I had considered making one myself but after looking at the costs and time involved in making something that would both look professional and do an excellent job regarding pulling down the volume without creating an unwanted boxy sound, the Grossmann Fat Box looked to fit the bill.
The unit arrived in two large boxes from Germany very well packaged. Both cabinet boxes are made from 25mm MDF with the speaker baffle made of 18mm Birch. The top part of the cabinet is the most heavy and care needs taken lifting it on and off, particularly with microphones in place.
In this video I show the units unpacked and set-up for 2 microphones using the adjustable brackets that make mic placement a simple affair. Using a room mic and metering through a mixer, I demonstrate the volume differences with the upper cabinet on and off. With a reduction of 30 decibels this unit has found a home in my studio making my recording workflow so much more simple. Changing out speakers to suit a give tone requirement is quick and easy and saves having bulky speaker cabinets to store. I will be doing another video showing how I actually use the Fat Box in my small studio… Enjoy!

Great video. Thank you. Sata drives give it a nice boost.
Thanks for the kind comment Richard... and for chipping in. In a recent video I did a review on the Grossmann Isolation Cabinet where I can crank up the Marshall and keep control over recording volume sessions - th-cam.com/video/PlBo-EESqkE/w-d-xo.html - I hope to upload another video shortly where I use a Soldano pedal which really helps to broaden the crunch/overdrive choices. Regards: Stu
Hey Stu, waaaaaaaay too technical for me but great to just be in your company and learning about audio / harmonics etc. Parabolic feet is a revelation for starters. Loved the programme as always. Best wishes
Hi Pete... Yeh, I understand... but at the end of the day it's a box with a speaker in it... ;-) When you get here you can get to see how it all works, perhaps play your LP at outrageous volumes using it.... ;-) God bless... Stu
@ 🤣
Awesome video have a great weekend Stu
As always Amin... many thanks... I hope your doing well... have a great weekend... regards: Stu
The only thing it's missing is some kind of wing nuts or some such, for swapping drivers quickly.
Hi Craig, the small thumb screws are actually pretty quick to loosen and tighten. If I were in a race I could have switched those speakers over in about 30 seconds with the mics back in the same position. There is an adapter ring that fits in the 12" hole to accommodate 10" speakers and I'm not quite sure how that all looks which may have a bearing on the way it has been designed. I'll be doing further videos on this so I'm sure I will get to see any further plus or minus points. All in all, it's an asset in my small studio space. Regards: Stu
Appreciate you sharing your journey, man.
Hi - Thanks for chipping-in and taking time to watch the video. If you get time, do check-out my channel playlists as I've covered a fair bit of gear over the last 2 years... and it's always good to hear other folks sharing their own stories... regards: Stu
I just ordered some stuff from Germany myself. 😊
Hi Allen... you have have you.... will I be able to see this on Monday or will it take a while to be delivered... I wonder what it could be? ;-) Regards: Stu
Wow the ability to keep the volume down with that box is amazing. I built my own and it ended up a storage cabinet. 😂 It worked ok, but was so heavy. Cheers!
Hi Allen - Yes it does a good job of suppressing the volume even with the amp really cranked up. I'll be doing some other videos on this demonstrating a range of speaker types and how well it actually records into my DAW. Regards: Stu
@@StuGuitarChannel probably the week after. I delayed the order processing for a bit
@@Allen-gj3qd Delayed the delivery!!! Trust your enjoying the latest geetar ;-) PS: I finally settled on a pedal... I don't think you will guess what I went for and took delivery of just a few hours ago... ;-)

Great review great pedal one off the best reverb pedals
Hi twigy7979 - Thanks for the kind comment, always appreciated. As you say, its a no-nonsense reverb pedal with a good choice of effects. I use it specifically with my Marshall Plexi valve head. Regards: Stu
How's about building a Tele from Amazon parts ? I've been building one for a while got the neck a body for about £25 or so each couple of years ago ( a move meant putting stuff in storage) but iive bought pickups alnico 5 and tuners Wilkinson bridge also Wilkinson so once i dig the bodyand neck out ill finish it ( already leveled & crowned the frets before the move!)
Hi - Yes, I agree that you can get a lot of parts well able to help anyone put together their own custom built guitar. I did a 12 part guitar series that might be of interest to you where I build my own custom built Telecaster style guitar. Part 1 is here - th-cam.com/video/DK1PVW35pTU/w-d-xo.html - and a full compressed video of all 11 videos are here in Part 12 - th-cam.com/video/8f9qollkPMY/w-d-xo.html - All the very best with your project! Regards: Stu
has been addressed the smoth increments problem of the DVP4 by 2025?
Hi herman_93 - I'm not quite sure if you are asking a question or giving some information. If you are asking, has the mini pedal had an update in regard to the incremental in/out - I don't know, perhaps someone who has recently bought the pedal could chip-in. If it has been sorted, then that's good news, however... I think that pedal is too small for my feet and I find the DVP5 (X) 8 is a decent compromise. Regards: Stu
@@StuGuitarChannel Thank you for your reply and your effort trying to understand my writing. And yes, I was asking exactly that.
@@hernan_93 No problem, happy to help. I did a bit of digging around and I see that there are still complaints regarding the abrupt fall--off making volume swells impossible unless you are combining this with a delay/echo/heavy reverb effect as well, which will help cover the abruptness. If you are able to get along to a music store to try one out that will certainly answer the question and it would be good to hear about that if you do. I did want to have that pedal because I wanted to keep a very neat and tidy pedal board when I first came back to guitar playing. However, now a couple of years further on I have abandoned that kind of thinking and I'm glad I went for the DVDP5 (X) 8. Regards: Stu
@@StuGuitarChannel i did the "search" by myself and I agree with you. The size and lack of fully linear increments helped me choosing the DVP5 better. Thank again 🙏🏻
Nice looking piece of kit, no doubt useful for musical people. I daresay if I was in that sort of folk I’ d acquire one. That said as I am of a tab and number / fret ( and struggling ) level waaaay out of my league.
Hi Pete - Yes, not my usual product review but a nice bit of kit nevertheless. I don't read notated music but I do use a music stand to hold my chord sheets that I have written up for when I'm recording. Look forward to catching up... it's been a challenging period but on the mend... God bless: Stu
I can't read! Seven years of classical training on various instruments, and notation simply evades me. It's the synesthesia. My mind's eye doesn't allow notation, somehow? Hard to explain.
Hi Craig, I know what you mean... I first started out at school on the drums and I had to learn to read the exercises which did not come easy for me. When I switched to guitar I gave up trying to read music as I had no interest in playing anyone else's stuff anyway. Playing by feel is what suits me but I do admire those I know who are very good at sight reading. I think you may be interested in the recording gear I have just had delivered... all being well, that should be uploaded next week... Regards: Stu
Agree with the pickup swap! the 64's sound much nicer to me
Hi Ben... I would have to do a much more in-depth video to really show the differences between these pick-ups but a lot does depend on how someone plays. But... without doubt the Telecaster 64s are more up my street... regards: Stu
Hi Stu, just stumbled upon your channel. Amazing quality content and I love what you are doing with this project. The professionalism of your videos is so good I had to comment!
Hi Ben - Thank you for the kind comments, very much appreciated. Hello Stu, welcome to a new year of guitars! Do you trade in or sell your unwanted guitar stuff privately?
Hi Weasel - Happy New Year! So a quick answer would be... Yes and Yes... In case others read this I'll give a bit more info just in case it helps... Over the decades, owning a production studio I always tried to purchase industry standard equipment and stored all the packaging. This made trade-ins back with the supplier good as well as selling on social media. When I began my guitar journey, old habits die hard and I keep the same approach. I try to work with outlets that appreciate the value of a returning customer so that I can strike a good deal when buying, and a good deal when trading in (All boxes, manuals kept in good condition). So... I trade-in (as long as it's a reasonable trade-in price) and look to get a discount on the item I am trading for. I do my homework so that I can at least explain my reasons for wanting a better deal - such as the shop down the road has this at a better price. Direct shop trade-ins can save a lot of time and headaches when you are dealing with higher end guitars and amplifiers. I sell online on a number of outlets depending on what I am selling. As I have a production studio website, gear is always listed on that and I may do a guitar channel website at some point this year to help me do that. Of course, selling on social media sites does come with its pitfalls and best to stay with platforms with at least some form of protection. In some cases with specific items I have sold items at a higher price than I bought them (this is rare) and sometimes I get my money back (again rare) - in the majority of cases you take a hit even when the item is fully boxed and mint condition. Of course, in the professional production world, the gear pays for itself numerous times over so it's no big deal - if it has no further use and can be sold... great. As my guitar journey is a private affair, I purchase items because I want to have those for my music projects, if there is any possible extra value to them (Custom Shop guitar?) then that's a nice add-on, I don't dismiss the fact that certain items can hold value but ultimately it's not my top reason for purchase. If it's possible, always keep boxes, accessories, manuals and sales receipt so that when selling that item, it may at least get top attention from a prospective buyer. I did a couple of videos covering some of these topics - gear as an investment? - th-cam.com/video/8ODljH4yKzE/w-d-xo.html - and gear being sent through the post - th-cam.com/video/A6oZCFrBhgk/w-d-xo.html - Regards: Stu
@@StuGuitarChannel Thanks for the great response Stu, and I will check out those videos.
A veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy happy new year to you, Stu, hope you had a fantastic festive season up there in beautiful Scotland, my friend. I still can not begin to thank you enough for your donation to me of this gorgeous SG and i'll be forever truly grateful to you. I'm really enjoying your video uploads on here so much. All the very best my friend :) Garry (Scouse) here in Milton Keynes-just a 2 minute drive from the Marshell offices which i often drive past on a weekly basis :) :) :)
Hi Garry - And a happy New Year to you! I hope it will be a good one for you... I've been asked to help give guitar lessons to someone who has just bought themselves a lovely acoustic guitar and I'm thinking about making those lessons into a video format so other's might be able to benefit. So stay tuned, you might find that helpful. If you get the chance... I understand that Marshall does factory tours which might be a bit of fun for you... At 14 years old I can recall walking into a friends room that had a Marshall stack up against the wall and my eyes just lit up! I still remember the feeling of buying my first Marshall amp top... Thank you for the kinds words... always good to hear from you and to hear what your up to... all the very best my friend Stu
2024 has a memorable moment for me, i got my first electric guitar at my 14, squier debut telecaster that you had review it earlier. Thanks for the review Mr Stu🎸
Hi CoffeeWithSugar.... ;-) I'm not quite sure what you are saying in regard to the figure 14? However... congratulations on your guitar purchase, the debut Telecaster is a nice guitar. I have been asked to teach guitar lessons to a couple of folks and I am thinking it might be an idea for me to make videos about this which others can benefit. I know there's tons of very good teaching materials online, however... I think I may have a slightly different approach which may help some who struggle a little with conventional methods... Thank you for the kind comment and don't hesitate to chip-in or ask questions... regards: Stu
@StuGuitarChannel Im 14 years old in 2024, sorry I didn't write clearly :) Also that is a good idea to make a guitar teach lesson with you teaching it, and I think everybody has their own style to teach, its also interesting to watch.
@@CoffeWithSugar Thanks for explaining... I was around 14 when I first began playing guitar and my first guitar was a Telecaster (Japanese copy) - I loved that guitar, I couldn't wait to get home from school to practice. I am left-handed and the person who would give me some lessons to begin with said I must learn right-handed... ;-) I will certainly take a look at doing something to help those starting out, it always helps if I get told what exactly someone is wanting to achieve with playing guitar and any difficulties they are experiencing. Thanks for chipping-in, always happy to help where I can... regards: Stu

Happy new year Stu, nice roundup. Highlight some things I’ve missed. Maybe you could do a couple for beginners that explain things a bit more for the less musically inclined or knowledgeable. All the best for 2025
Hi Pete - Happy New Year to you... Was there something specific you might like covered? I've been asked to do some guitar zoom lessons for someone starting out and may just turn that into something others can watch and perhaps benefit from... I look forward to catching up... it's been quite a holiday.... but still in one piece ;-) God bless: Stu
@ A beginners lesson video would be great. Basically the “ crunch “ you refer too, then the effects the different pedals do. Maybe the difference between a valve amp and a digital one besides the volume variation with the different pedals.

90% unsubscribed wow that's eye-popping, I'm afraid to look at my number. TH-cam doesn't incentivize people to subscribe, because if they've already clicked your stuff, you show up in their recommendations regardless. I liked what you said there about, "As I couldn't spend the uninterrupted time necessary to get on with my recording, I found myself fine tuning my gear inventory," which is just how I spent the last year as well. Anyway I thought that keeley was a great buy, it sounds fantastic. The best bit of the bunch is that 52, I would literally steal that thing from right out of your hands and run lol I'll be curious about your approach to recording and producing. It's an underappreciated art form. The reason I went on hiatus is because my interface/mixer, a Tascam model 24, went kaput so I figured I would wait for a newer, better model to come out. Now there's a model 2400, so that's fun. Then it's time for a new PC, I may switch to mac because it's easier to use my phone with one, but either way the channel stays on hiatus until the muse finds me next. As for a DAW I'm a longtime Reaper user, but I'm going to guess you're a protools fan I just haven't tried it. I like to use SM57s on guitar amps, but I have an old PG58 I like more. I'm not wealthy enough to be a mic snob or outboard gear snob, so I have to use my ears instead but I think my music comes out ok even if for example my drum mic set cost under $100 LOL But I have to be honest and admit there are now 14 mics on my drums, although since the flood everything is unhooked and ready to be rebuilt, and I'm seriously considering simplifying the drum mic setup because I was previously considering upping the number to 17 lol Wrong direction, I think. So just as much as the speaker rabbithole, I look forward to your videos on the recording rabbithole as well.
Hi Craig... Yes you know what it's like... knocking together general music tracks is not difficult but getting down to creating something special needs inspiration and uninterrupted space, and while I'm semi-retired I still need to deal with various challenges and commitments. I'm a "Reaper" user also, it's a fabulous bit of software and I love the simplicity of it, yet it's more than capable to enable high quality production. We have had both - high-end Macs and PCs in the studios but Mac's are the mainstay of all audio/video/graphics work. I have a number of items arriving over the next couple of weeks to help me be more efficient which has meant a bit of a re-design in the control-room / edit suite. I look forward to you chipping-in your own thoughts and experiences... and meanwhile I'll be thinking about putting an electric fence around that 52 ;-) regards: Stu
Happy New Year, Stu🎉 It has been great to get to know you over the last year.
Hi Allen - and likewise... looking forward to catching up you... Warm regards: Stu
The Texas Specials seemed more twangy and yet had more depth to them than the Vintage 64's - think I prefer them. Another very informative video, Stu - thank you!
Hi Nige... Happy New Year to you... Yes it's a bit of a tricky one... The Texas Specials sound very nice but I find I need to approach my playing differently... if I play with a heavy hand then they exhibit a break-up tone that I'm not too keen on. I find the 64s easier to manage... if any of that makes sense? My friends Stratocaster with Texas Specials sounds different - less cutting and edgy and I had originally thought I might get something similar with the Telecaster set... Thanks for taking time to watch... I've got some interesting things going on at the beginning of the year... regards: Stu
@@StuGuitarChannel Happy New Year to you too, Stu. Look forward to the new stuff... I wonder if that's why my amp sometimes crackles - heavy handedness!
@@nigesilvestri6790 ... ;-)
I just ordered the same model already having the LP standard with humbuckers. Love the sound of a P 90 on a LP.
I'm sure you will love it... while I am a Fender Tele/Strat guy... this is a lovely guitar to play and those P90s do have a tone all their own... all the best for 2025 and your new LP... regards: Stu
Hi Stu. Greatings from the Netherlands. Im British , but live near Rotterdam. Love the channel. If you need a really good T style guitar, look at the Fazley Outlaw Plus(the Plus is important.). You get a great Maple neck, ash body Tusq nut ,through body strings and decent pickups. They cost about £150 . Available from Bax.
Hi Peter - Thank you for the kind comments. As you mention, there are quite a few T-Style guitars available that are very good value for the money. It's definitely a great time for anyone wanting to take-up guitar. I did a review on a 'Gear4Music' Knoxville that was about £129.00 - and looks quite the business - th-cam.com/video/EWSD9s6iaA0/w-d-xo.html - However I did just complete a series on building your own Custom Shop T-Style Style guitar (12 part) Part 1 starting with the importance of body and neck choices - th-cam.com/video/DK1PVW35pTU/w-d-xo.html - with part 12 a quick highly compressed 20 minute overview of the whole project series - th-cam.com/video/8f9qollkPMY/w-d-xo.html - All the best for the New Year Peter... regards: Stu
@StuGuitarChannel And you Stu. Looking forward to visiting your channel. I'm 60 and returned to guitar after a break of any years.
@@peterhall4852 Welcome back to guitar playing Peter! If you go to the channel playlists you'll see my own journey back to where I am today. I always love to hear stories from others so please do not hesitate to chip-in. I hope to be doing a full studio set-up video soon showing how I actually use many of the things I've reviewed. If you subscribe and hit the notification bell you should be informed as to when I upload videos which tends to be every Friday. Regards: Stu
I'd like to hear a demo where the unit is used at maximum attenuation with an amp turned up more than half. Set up like that, I'd like to hear leads played that include a lot of wound strings being played hard. If the low end gets looser than it would un- attenuated, I may not be a candidate for attenuation in general.
Hi TheNoncritical1 - If I remember correctly, I did set the attenuator to maximum attenuation with the amplifiers (Master volume) turned up more than half. I do not recommend that setting as it compress's the tone significantly. I did a review on my Marshal valve head and around the 10 minute mark onwards you can see clearly the amplifier settings I'm using. The attenuator is set at around nearly 3/4 attenuation - th-cam.com/video/rXmYNLipKMA/w-d-xo.html - This is around bedroom volume yet clearly very over-driven. I will be doing a studio recording set-up video very soon showing how I actually use the attenuator in an amp rack linked to an Isolation Cabinet for recording. Generally speaking, for my use in recording... I only use the attenuator with the Marshall 20watt Vintage Studio Head - and because I now use an isolation box I can set the attenuator a little lower so as not to compress/colour the tone. I have taken note of the points you raised and will bear this in mind when I come to do the studio set-up video. As you will appreciate a lot can depend on all the other equipment used in the chain and how someone plays. Hope that is of some help but always happy to try and answer any questions you may have... regards: Stu
Thank you boss
Thanks for watching, hope it was of some help... regards: Stu
I can see where the extra tone shaping is a welcome addition when using the Spark in front of the amp... I use the Spark Mini in the loop for clean volume boost of whichever tone I have selected. I also like the dual function of the mini where you can switch it on and off, or you can press and hold for the duration of a solo moment, then release to bring the volume back down. ☮❤🎶
Hi baimun - That's interesting, I had never thought of using the pedal that way... I suppose because I use it differently. I'll probably end up selling or trading-in the little mini pedal but for the money it's a nice little unit and that 'Solo' feature is handy for those who need it. Thanks for chipping-in... regards: Stu
@StuGuitarChannel For adding tone on the front end of the amp, I use a Wampler Germanium Tumnus with all the controls a tick past noon. Just got a Soldano Astro a few weeks ago and it’s amazing how useable that Tumnus is on all four channels (Green, Blue, Purple, and Red)! ☮️❤️🎶
@@baimun Very Nice…! When I was looking for a boutique style valve amp, the Soldano was high on my list but alas Bad Cat got my pennies… A friend of mine said I would like the Wampler but it is quite an outlay for an effect I’m not sure I would use much of? I learned a recent lesson when I changed-out my mini MXR Carbon Delay for the Kelly Halo - what a difference! I may just look into the Wampler pedal again… In upcoming videos I have some new pieces of kit arriving to help try to record things accurately to the amount of time I’ve spent working on the tone - within a studio recording environment. Regards: Stu
@@StuGuitarChannel I was fortunate enough to get my pre-order in on the morning of the Germanium Tumnus launch, and when the prices started going obscene before it arrived, I kind hoped it would be mostly hype so I could flip it, but I plugged it in and went "Damn... I get it now" and hasn't left my board since. 🤣
@@baimun I've been checking that pedal out... interesting... I hope to be visiting one of my local music stores and must see what they have in that range... regards: Stu
I'm having trouble understanding. There is only one knob on the Spark Mini, and it's a level control. It's like this is some Scottish version of an April Fools' Day joke, or maybe you just made the video to see if anyone points out there is a knob, a big one, in fact it's the only thing on there but the switch. I've gone back and rewatched it carefully. I can't figure out what's happening! The big white knob that says "level" controls the volume on a spark mini. Can't miss it. ?
Hi Craig... Well that question caught me out... ;-) Do you have one of these mini spark boost pedals? What I find is... Yes the volume increases/decreases turned left or right along with a level of distortion. When I used this pedal via digital amps or the hybrid digital/valve Blackstar combo, I found that my preferred tonal setting was around the 12 o'clock area. However.... when using with the valve amplifiers (at the 12.oclock setting) I found the volume boosts way higher than the amp as soon as it is engaged needing me to turn the amplifier volume down to level things out. If I turn down the boost pedal to bring it more into line with the amplifier volume then I get very little overdrive tone. And so... with the larger pedal you have the Gain knob to set the amount of overdrive and the level/volume knob to correct the volume where needed without affecting the drive tone when switched on. Does that make more sense? Regards: Stu
@ Oh I see, you’re going into non master volume amps, and you don’t have a final pedal gain stage between the booster and the preamp tubes to use like a master volume knob? I think I get it, if my word salad there makes sense.
@@CraigFlowersMusic Yes... I did think about going that route but changing the pedal just seemed a better idea... there is only a few pounds between them so it was not much of an outlay... So I I had a speaker delivered... ;-) regards: Stu
@ Thanks for answering, I hope that thread answers for anyone else wondering. Looking forward to the next one, thanks Stu!
Hey Stu, hope you had a Merry Christmas, Boxing Day, etc. Got some new gear for Christmas but now I have to learn to use it all 😂. Cheers🎉
Hi Allen - Yes thank you, Christmas day was a busy time visiting folks but we just had a quiet boxing day which was nice... :-) Trust all went well with your plans? New Gear eh..! I look forward to our next meeting where I will expect a presentation... I also have some new toys and like you I'm going to have to read the instruction manuals... ;-) Speak soon... regards: Stu
Being "affordable" limits the mini, and I agree on the volume boost. But that's what I use it for on my acoustic board. I hit it, when I'm fingerpicking. Can't set past 9oclock, though...Keep enjoying gear and playing
Hi Mazukakai - What amplifier set-up are you going into? I only ran into this mismatching when I began using valve amplifiers. Regards: Stu
I'm going from a Fishman Spectrum Aura DI into the PA. Straight acoustic chain is: Guitar into Spark Mini - Nux Steel Singer - Fishman Spectrum Aura - Boss DD200 - Boss RC30 - into PA. Don't even usually use or need monitors for that type of gig. For electric rigs, I wouldn't use it. Have several low gain pedals and an EQ pedal for boosting. Keep having fun👍🏻
Also, when the TC Electronic Plethora X1 comes in, it'll slot in between the Fishman Spectrum Aura and the Boss DD200...whenever that'll be
@@mazukakai That sounds quite a set-up... would be interesting to hear what you are playing. Regards: Stu
@@mazukakai I have to admit... I've never really been a fan of pedals/effects although have used them from the start of playing guitar back in the 70s. Every time I see a new pedal come out I tend to ignore them. Regards: Stu
FYI, it appears you misinderstand how the solo mode works. Solo is its own mode that switches from 0db to -32db. The high and low setting does nothing when solo mode is enabled, only when you switch solo mode off do you have access to the high and low attenuation settings.
Hi SegaSnatchers - Thanks for chipping in... I'm going to have to check-over that video to help me understand your comment. Having thoroughly read the instructions, I do use the unit in accordance with those instructions but I may have given a different impression when filming that video. I really appreciate you bringing this to my attention... over the next couple of days I'll check through the video and correct where applicable... many thanks again... regards: Stu

Hola.

Hello, does anyone know - can you play back a loop and LIVE switch to another loop you recorded without stopping the pedal?
Hi - Sorry, I'm not able to answer that one... but a search regarding that question says - "No, with a TC Electronic Ditto+, you cannot directly switch to another recorded loop while a loop is actively playing without stopping the pedal first; you need to stop the currently playing loop before starting playback of a different loop" I'm not sure how accurate that answer is, but if you are particularly keen on this pedal, a quick email to TC Electronic would be best. They do have other loop pedals with more features which might be what your after. Regards: Stu PS: Hopefully someone with more knowledge about this will chip-in...
@@StuGuitarChannel Thnx, i might send them an email - the answer is nowhere to be found yet. And I wanted exactly this pedal, not more functions.

Nice video. I have bought one of these for £69 from Gear4music as a B-grade item. The reason it is B-grade is the colour of the fretboard is not roasted but the rest of the neck is roasted and I actually like the look of it like that!
