I bought my 2003 MIM strat brand new, enjoyed it for a couple of years before I joined the Air Force and the guitar became a case queen for 18 years. I got my Fat 60s pickups, as well as a custom shop Seymour Duncan Custom 5 humbucker wound by MJ. I'm waiting for my locking tuners from Fender to show up, but after they do this guitar will definitely feel like "my" guitar. Truth be told, there's absolutely no price that can be placed on such a personal instrument. After hearing the sounds here and throughout TH-cam, I'm beyond looking forward to experiencing that bit of sugar with the Fat 60s!

For my ears the custom pickups easily get saturated and not producing the highs. Great video. Love your presentation manner. My father-in-law story is that after he passed I had to sell his old Gibson 335 and his JBL based almost new Fender Twin. I'm a guitarist but never liked the 335 (too big) and the Twin was SO heavy, loud, and sterile sounding so I sold them to others.

I like Seymour Duncan pickups. As for squire vs Fender 🇺🇸.... Fender 🇺🇸 all the way....1) the feel of the neck, Squire my hand stuck to the neck , where as an 🇺🇸, the neck is 👍‼️ Now the 🇺🇸 professional 2 telecaster is 👍👍👍‼️

I think I only tried Seymour Duncan pickups once, it was a Michael Kelly guitar and I think they were designed by Duncan not actual Seymour Duncan's... And I LOVED them. Quarter pounders it was I think, on a weird telecaster kind of thing.
