I review the Nextorch UT51 warning bracelet. This is a slap-band that has emergency/signal light features.
Nextorch provided me with a sample of the UT51L for this review video.

    Nextorch UT51L Transcript
General thoughts after a week of usage/size comparison/practicality/interesting things:
    • So Nextorch has released a new version of their UT51. It's the UT51L. The main difference is that UT51L is longer - Nextorch probably figured out that some of the gym junkies out there need more wiggle room. The runtimes on some modes are also shorter, presumably due to the extra LEDs that the UT51L now has to power.
    • Nextorch describes it as a 'flashing warning bracelet'. It's got a snap-on design that houses a red/blue light. This light is targeted toward various people - for example, if you work in law enforcement or traffic control, the flashing lights may be useful to identify you to the public. It could also be used as an emergency signal/warning light - easily attached to objects, or to your arm if you're going out for a run. I also think it could be good to stash one in your car as a warning/emergency light if your car breaks down - just wrap it around a mirror.
    Overall Construction, LED,
    • ABS/Polyester construction. About 46cm when extended. Series of red/blue LEDs.
    UI - modes
    • 5 modes - flashing red, flashing blue, flashing blue/red, constant red, constant blue - omnidirectional and easy to spot, even from a distance, from awkward angles.
    • Click the button on the black end to switch modes.
Performance - total output, beam profile, longevity, practicality
    • Good runtimes on the flashing modes (10-12 hours). However, the blue flashing mode is rated at 3 hours.
    • Blue 1.5 hours constant on. Red 6 hours constant on.
    Considerations
    • Pricey for a wrist band but it could be handy in an emergency or keep you safe from cars. The convenience factor is important to consider too, easy to attach. On the other hand, a simple front-facing EDC light could do the trick too. But it won't be omnidirectional like the UT51L.
    • Not as bright as the UT51 but the difference is barely noticeable.
    Verdict
    • This is a pragmatic take on those snap bands - I think they could come in handy for runners, or during emergencies for signaling or warning motorists of a hazard.
