I’ve never had a need to go to Maine. I do now -that lobster roll blew my mind. When I show up? Don’t tease me - pile that lobster high. I’ll even bring my own butter. Holy jeepers. So much lobster. OR, as the locals call it “lobsta”. I can’t wait.
I didn't realize that Red's was a turnaround story. I had assumed that the place had steady business for years before becoming legendary. I have driven past here many times on Route 1, but have not stopped. There always seems to be a line. I think I will make it a point to pull over and order one lobster roll during an off-peak time.
I was in Maine for 10 days 2 1/2 years ago. I had a lobster roll at every town, they were all great but Red’s is the only one that I can remember. Not sure what day of the week this was filmed. We were there on a Wednesday in August and it was pouring down rain. There were 50+ people in line. I just checked, Alexa told me I’m only 16 hours and 2 minutes away.
Mainer here. Can confirm not only the absolutely amazing lobster roll found at Red's, but the traffic in this area during the summer. Believe me from down east to the border of NH you're going to find people saying they make the best lobster roll in Maine, and not one of them is telling the truth (don't even THINK about getting a lobster roll anywhere in Portland or the immediately bordering towns unless you want to get ripped off).
See you in September/October!! Looking forward to the "Red's Eats Experience Meal," I just made that up but if you have one! Signature Lobster Roll, Scallops and your sister's Blueberry Cake!! 😋
Because them Connecticut lobster rolls are flipping delicious!! And because of this thing called free market rule of supply and demand! You should read about it. It is very interesting how the free market economic system works!!
Absolutely insanely overpriced, especially after you’ve been waiting in line for an hour. $36 is what smart Maine business owners charge naive tourists who don’t know any better. Reds Eats is great, but do yourself a favor and order the crabmeat roll instead. Don’t be a sucker.
I would eat here because of her, love her energy.
LONG drive, but I’ve been there several times! It’s an experience!
Wowza!
I can't wait to come and visit! I am from Arizona and I love lobster rolls!
Definitely on my bucket list.
You can find better 😅
My god you need a better bucket list 🤦🏻♂️
Every time I go visit family in Camden, that ride on the way always passes Red's, and I always stop and get my lobster roll. It is so worth it.
I'm from se Texas-would love to try this
Will go one day! Looks amazing! 😮
Shannon's Unshelled in Boothbay Harbor has a great lobster roll too. Delicious 😋
World renowned for creating the worst traffic jam in Maine.
Ogunquit would like a word.
YES!
way so wrong
Definitely on my bucket list next time I'm in that area of New England.

I've been there. The lobster rolls are legit. I wish I would have gotten TWO because they are SO good.
The lobster roll really lives up to the hype 😊😊
Definitely going there in the near future!
Great idea with the butter & mayo on the side. I happen to think mayo is disgusting, so I'd be a butter guy lol
Expensive, but that's because its HUGE and is the best one I've had in my almost 10 years living in Maine.
looks good!

I'm thousands miles away but I'll have 5 lobster rolls please.

You not only did not have a lobster roll in every town. You did not visit every town. That is absolutely ridiculous.
He never said every town in the state
"Every town" in his words implies the places he visited. Making assumptions isnt smart. @jashamell3932

@@gulfportflamefighter4545 thank you so much!! We will try it!! We are coming from Iowa City Iowa, so it is going to be a grand experience!!
What’s in bleu cheese sauce? Old bay?
Sprague's right across the street (literally) is just as good with half the wait
👍 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
she is the type of person who runs a successful business. you have to love it to make it last.
Spragues across the street
Why are they serving Connecticut lobster rolls in Maine?

The constant line of weirdos waiting in line for lobster with mayo because it was in a travel book or on crap like this……is astonishing
Lobster is going for $7.99 / pound in Maine right now.
Really?! Heading up there soon.
Not at Red's (or any local restaurant in tourist season), I can assure you
@@harrisfleming7431 It was at 9.50 when I was up 2 weeks ago.
Here in California the lobster rolls look nothing like that.
Best is eventide in Portland.
$30 US for a lobster roll!
This is the biggest lie in the world you literally wait in front of that restaurant for like an hour just to get a crappy Burger.
best lobster rolls in Maine? Browns Clam Shanty in Wells

Red's Eats is nothing more than a tourist trap. Stay away there are far better places to eat in Maine than Red's Eats
Nope
36 bucks this year, down 3 buck from 2022!
You could always do it yourself. From catching to preparing. See what it costs you. Don't forget the testing to make sure its bacteria free.
