@@michaelimondithereal well you already know of Reds….i heard you mention it, but they are definitely one of the best. I also stop at Days Crabmeat & Lobster in Yarmouth. Portland is a city in denial of itself. It has no real identity. It's image and folklore imposed on it from the outside. Portland isn't hip or cool. But it has the things that make a hip and cool city. It feels forced on the people who aren't concerned enough to care. Being a restaurant city means nothing. It's just food. No big deal. I like bacon sandwiches. That makes me happy. If overpriced plates of food makes someone else happy good for them. The people aren't cool or creative. They're not sociable or spontaneous. They're smug, boring and as confused as the city.
yup the massachuseetts even calls portland maine: suburb of boston, massachusetts! uh...MAINE is a separate state from massachusetts thank you democrats!

I know this will be a bit strange to say. If you want the cheapest best lobster roll... York Hospital's Cafeteria, unless the price has changed since I been there, $10 for a lobster roll. A sizeable amount of lobster on a hotdog bun.
@@mrow7598 I can confirm this as a former York resident, the York Hospital cafeteria especially, in the 90’s, one of the best and cheapest places around for lunch and dinner!
I agree Eventide is completely overrated, but New England has the best seafood in the world? pfft... c'mon... New England just fries and cooks seafood in butter and garlic with Lemon... go to Japan... best seafood in the world hands down
I loved Lukes, Tehya was our waitress, she was the best! Had the lobster roll, it was very well prepared, but my overall favorite is still Red's in Wiscasset if you don't mind standing in a long line.

But let me give you a tiny little tip: Famous: means you’re well known for some good reason Infamous: means you’re well know for some bad reason Montreal Canadiens hockey players are INFAMOUS for diving and faking for penalty calls. Luke's is pretty GOOD ..... RED'S (in my opinion), is better , ... More REAL N.E. style Lobsta roll .... (But the line can be L O N G . . . . . .New Subscriber ....
Stay in Boston. You're right! Maine has terrible lobstah! Even the freshest lobster is terrible. I've lived here all my life...by far, hands down. MC DONALDS has a fish fillet that is so much better.
EvenTide started great..... the reviews from people "from away" got in their head and they started to believe the hype. Over rated these days, not what they were.
Grew up in Maine ... not a huge fan of lobster rolls. Love Eventide though, sorry you had a bad experience. Been to a lot of tourist traps in Maine and I don't think Eventide is one of them. Personally, think Twelve has the best lobster roll in town. As someone that thinks lobster is overrated, Eventide and Twelve are at least making it different
I look forward to trying what Maine has to offer outside of just lobster rolls But of course for the demand I have to go thru them Cheffing it up for a lobster roll Isn’t necessary I’ll give Twelve a shot for sure Thanks for the tip
My Louisiana heart did have to giggle when you gave the multiple monologues about us covering our seafood with seasonings...just for you to order truffle oil on yours😆. I'm sorry, but that's fucking hilarious. I personally prefer crab and gulf shrimp over lobster and clams, and it isn't a particularly close race. I'm visiting New England for the first time later this year, so I hope the local joints can improve my opinion of your so-called heavyweights. Your video has me questioning if that will happen, but I guess we'll see!
If you never had seafood up here Then I completely understand why you’ll take shrimp and crab over mediocre clams and lobster Enjoy the best seafood in the world from Boston And you’re right about the truffle Only tried it cause a friend of mine But still you’re right Don’t get used to it tho
Maryland is absolutely not Cajun. What? Do you know what Cajun is/means? Also crabcakes Maryland decidedly takes, same with softshell crabs, which are both gimmicky and terrible in New England. The Chesapeake and Gulf is where most crabs and shrimp comes from, along with tons of varieties of oysters! I guess those don’t count as seafood to you, then 🤦♂️
First of all, Luke’s started in Saco, Maine. Second, food is better here, Third, you didn’t go to DiMillo’s?! What’s wrong with you?! You missed the bacon wrapped scallops sautéed in Maple Syrup. They also have a 2 oz pour. Truffle butter is crap. Ok with French Fries at Fire and Oak in Montvale, NJ. You finish off with some Beals ice cream or Gorgeous Gelato. Probably should try some Queequeg Spice Rum at Maine Craft Distillers…you can tour the distillery. Spot on in Event Tide…pretentious “out of state” crap. Still 3 out 3 DiMillo’s
Driving another hour north up the coast in Wiscasset and go to red eats and an hour wait is worth the lobster roll .Absolutely hands-down because it is packed full of meat and it’s like eating a boiled lobster in a roll.
Stick with it…..your content is improving….you are likable and your absolute Bostoness is contagious….I am now a subscriber.
Appreciate that

Totally agree with you on the Eventide roll!
Yes it sucks
Hi Mike. Have you ever had the lobster in Florida, especially in Key West? Doesn't hold a candle to fresh Main lobstah! Paulie
Yes I have
Been all over there
Seafood is certainly not my go to there
Haha
Thanks for watching
The Real
Luke’s lobster is flash frozen meat. Why would you go there?
It was delicious
Mostly all seafood you’re eating has been frozen packed
All of it
@michaelimondithereal I know multiple boats docked right around the area you are in here. Many, many, places get fresh off the boat.

Oh I don’t want cheap
I want one that isn’t overpriced and not worth it
Or one that’s great but doesn’t give you enough
Rusty Lantern 🏮🏮 in SoPo had a kick ass lobster roll for $19
Are you talking about York PA hospital ??

Willing to try
And so far just Eventide that I didn’t like 👍
That’s all from Portland
So far
Honesty is the best!
Agreed 💯
I KNEW it was Eventide! When I saw that lame thing they call a lobstah roll from jump. Haha 😂
Lame is 💯
yeahh. best ! Michael~
Do you know the definition of the word ‘infamous’?
I agree Eventide is completely overrated, but New England has the best seafood in the world? pfft... c'mon... New England just fries and cooks seafood in butter and garlic with Lemon... go to Japan... best seafood in the world hands down
I do look forward to it
Japan that is
And New England just relies on the seafood to do the talking that’s the key
Italy and some other Mediterranean countries also doesn't mess around with fish and seafood.
Lobster roll is just enough mayo to hold it together, butter toasted hotdog roll. That’s it. And don’t get me started on Red’s….
Portland is a tourist trap. You’ll need to come up to the midcoast for lobster rolls.
This is what everyone is telling me haha
28 to park? Sickening
Street park, much?
Why on earth would you waste your time going to these places. Popular doesn’t mean great. Mainers don’t go to those places. Overpriced, overrated.
I’m doing what most tourists will do
And that’s go to the high rep places
People and myself want to know if they
Live up to the hype
