  • ℹ️ About This Episode
We visited Maine and tried Red's Eats🦞- one of the most famous lobster roll places here. Lobster roll was $38 (granted market prices are generally higher this year) and we waited 1.5 hours. Was is worth it...?🤔 This is Julie's HONEST review.

Fun video! Our opinion: Red's is OK but it is all about the hype. Sprague's across the street is much better with only 5% of the wait time. Our best lobster roll in Maine? Fisherman's Catch in Raymond (just outside of Portland).

Totally all about the hype. Interesting abt Spragues! We were actually going to do a side by side taste test but were too hungry after waiting in line for so long lol Thx for the tip on Fisherman’s Catch!!

Having lived up the road from there, Bristol Mills, for many years we've eaten at RED's alot of times over the years. Last time there was about 2015 and the rolls were $ 22.50 each. Wait time was 1 1/2 hours. Best lobster rolls we're ever had, but to me they're worth 1/2 the price.

    Hello!
Your story sounds so familiar! My husband and I also wanted 6 or so children, struggled with infertility, fostered 2 children and sold our home and most of our belongings to start a new dimension in life.
We are now living in an Airbnb and actively looking to buy a Globetrotter Airstream (our favorite style)!!
We have been addicted to informational TH-cam videos on this kind of lifestyle, and now I'm finding your channel is fast becoming my favorite!
So refreshing to see someone who has great RV interior style, organizational sense, and a good attitude! Also, you both have such great ideas that make this lifestyle look so attractive and fun!
I appreciate all the work you have put into sharing such valuable information! My stress level has lessened thanks to great channels like yous!
    Thank you!

When we were RVing in New England about 5 years ago we tried the lobster rolls. They were good but not worth the price which was about $20 or so back then. What we did fall in love with was the fish chowder! Yum 😋 (I must admit that your roll looked to have more lobster than I remember ours having)

The amount of lobster was borderline overwhelming😳 . My fave roll was in Belfast at side street cafe. Normal amt of lobster and flavor was bomb. I never even thought abt getting fish chowder. Good to know for next year! We had plenty of fried haddock sandwiches. They were amazing - especially the fried haddock Ruben 😋

Lobster is about $65 per pound in ME this season, due to Canada buying from the fisherman according to the locals. $38 is quite high, though. And the wait time…no thanks. Definitely appreciate the review. I’m a big fan of lobster rolls, and Portland, Kittery, and Scarborough had some decent ones. Also, like Chris, big fan of fried fish sandwich.

We Even came before the opened. If we got there 10 mins sooner may have saved us 30 mins. You were on a lobster roll sampling tour! Which was your fave?

You would think lobster would be cheaper in Maine than in California. It's all a racket.

a few years ago I worked a summer picking meat for a local supplier for red's. While the meat I picked was local It Was Not Fresh. Half of the things were already dead and we were told to smell them for rot before we cooked them. I really liked lobster before I got that job. Not so much now.
