My wife and I waited until my daughter graduated from Minnetonka this past year (2022) , and left the west metro/Minnesota. We had moved from Texas to Minnesota in 2017, and I did not understand the impact that leftist policies and leftist governance would have on our lives and our family. We had enough -- and we moved to Coastal Alabama. I love my friends I made in Minnesota, and we love hockey. But I have no regrets leaving. The GOP State Senate in Minnesota was the only protection we had from Walz and DFL overreach. Now that the DFL has complete control, I fear Minnesota is going to be in significant trouble going forward in regards to a radical left woke agenda.

I was born and raised in MN but left the state for SD in 1992. We lived in the Black Hills for 25 years. I saw a huge difference. People were very friendly there. Although it was nearly 100,000 population, everyone who lived there felt a connection with each other. People did things for each other. We never locked our car and left it outside. We never worried about theft. Homes did not have burglar alarms. We felt very safe. For a reason I won't go into, we relocated back to MN in 2015. It has now been 8 years. I feel like a totally different human being. I have gone years without having friends. I have gone years searching for a doctor. I have gone years waiting to be invited to take part in something. I feel "beaten". Every month I ask my husband if we can PLEASE move out of MN. I always tell him, that when he dies (if he dies first), I'm outta here. I hate MN and I was born and raised here. It's not at all the same as when I grew up. And, Minnesota Nice is meaningless -- it's just something to get tourists to visit or people to live here. It's NOT TRUE.

I'm 66, and originally from Eden Prairie, MN.
When I was 10 my family moved to SW Iowa. I returned at age 20. Not one of my better life decisions. Cold people, hard to make friends, provincial attitudes with employers, high taxes, high cost of living, cold winters, pretty liberal.
I fled to Kansas, and I never looked back. Completely different world. I still have some family in Minnesota, and I've only been back once (2007) for a wedding.
I have no intentions of entering the "People's Republic Of Minnesota " ever again.
None of this video, or none of what you've posted, surprises me.
I have some family in Kansas, a wonderful faith community, and friends.

I was born in SD, and have lived all over the place in the military. If you're willing to live in a RV at a cheap site full-time it is cheap. SC, GA, central TX; all are cheaper. Might freeze your water lines once in a while. For a while we would stay in Groesbeck, TX, a small cow town while I worked on a building. It was less than $300 per month to stay at a bit run down RV park. Safe enough. Live in SC now, which is affordable.@@tessangelabeck8958

OMG...I totally relate 100%! I'm 58 yrs old, and on disability. I'm from Indiana but moved to northern Minnesota when I was 14. I loved it! People seemed friendly, and I loved the lakes, deer, fishing. But then we moved to Missoula, MT when I was 17. I lived there for a yr before moving back to Indiana. Finally, I went back to Minnesota when I was 20. I hated Indiana honestly. Met my future first wife, went to college, got married. We divorced 4 yrs later and off I was back to Indiana. My family was all there. My mom passed in 2012 and I moved back to MN to be close to Dad and stepmom, but now after 10 yrs, It's gotten so bad here; just a liberal POS! I've been with my GF since and have asked to move to a nice conservative warmer location, but because of her job of 28 yrs, it's not something she can do elsewhere because she'd need to have a 4 yr degree in her field; here, not needed. I've had a massive heart attack recently and she's type 2 diabetic with issues, so I told her that if she dies first, I'm gone! Lol!

I loved Minnesota, and lived there for 70 years. Governor Dayton passed a record tax increase, and refused to allow inflation adjustment to the tax brackets. That means that without earning more buying power, inflation alone will move people up and up in the tax brackets. Not to be outdone, Governor Walz then passed a NEW record tax increase. Minnesota is hostile to retirees, continuing to be one of only 7 states that tax Social Security. The final straw was when the company that I worked for, a 100 year old family owned business was put out of business because the State of MN did not pay their bills. I was forced into retirement before I was financially ready. Just about then, the riots happened, and Walz just let our cities, homes and businesses burn, and did not back the police. While there still are good people, "Minnesota Nice" no longer exists. "Minnesota Passive Aggressive" has taken over. People are becoming rotten to each other, but with a glib smile on their faces. It was time to leave.
Unlike some, I love winters, so I sold my house in MN, moved north, and bought a nice, architecturally designed home on one of the Great lakes with the proceeds. Fabulous fishing, and outdoors beauty that Minnesotans wish they had. People are genuinely nice to each other. Crime is almost nonexistent. No tax on Social Security, and low to no taxes on retirement savings. I brought my retirement business here, and it feels good to not have to send a dime of my proceeds to the greedy Minnesota administration.

We left Iowa when we got married many years ago and moved to Minnesota. Back then, it was a great state, but it just keeps sliding further & further downhill. I worked in downtown Minneapolis & loved it. I wouldn't go there now for nothing! The last time I was in Minneapolis was about 4 years ago; we had to pick up my sister who came in on a Greyhound bus for Christmas. My brother & I went inside to find her, while my husband kept the car running & doors locked until we came out. We were taunted, laughed at, called "whitie" as we made our way to the door to go in, and when we came back out. What a nightmare. I wondered if we'd get attacked by the group. I was so glad to get out of Minneapolis. No backbone Walz is one of the reasons for the decline. I hope the state wakes up. We're following in the footsteps of some major loser cities. Now, I wish we'd stayed in Iowa. They have the great Chuck Grassley. Look who we have!

I moved from N.D. to the Twin Cities in 2004, I grew up in North Dakota. Talk about a shock. I adjusted eventually. I moved out to the country from the Twin Cities in 2015. What a difference. It is rather remarkable living an hour away from the Twin Cities. The people, the law enforcement, the attitudes, the feeling of community, it's so different. We winter in Arizona and Texas, and that as well is quite remarkable. People open carry all over, the general feeling of freedom even is different. Between Walz, Omar, Klobichar, Frey and the rest of the far left, it is all but ruining Minnesota. After the whole George Floyd B.S. as well as the burning of Murderapolis and watching everything with the fallout, I was literally embarrassed to meet new people down south during the winter. When they'd ask 'where are you from', I would literally put my head down and ashamedly say, Minnesota. I will say living in the country and away from the shithole of Minneapolis is much better. If not for kids and grandkids we'd be LONG gone. Liz Collin is an amazing reporter, about 5 years ago she covered the group I started called Syd's Angels Bikers Against Bullies, very thankful for that and for the reporting she's doing. In closing I am so sad at what Minneapolis has become. I own a construction business and since 2020 I do not accept any work even close to the Twin Cities. Thank you, Liz, for your constant fight to bring the truth to light.

Where to begin? I moved to NC in August with my family. My youngest daughter lives here but I've got two others back in MN. Climate was a big reason. After 50+ years dealing with snow and cold, we were over it. The political climate was another. Government, schools, media all seeming to want to trash much that was good about the culture in the name of diversity. I would argue that what remains isn't diverse at all: it's monochromatic, authoritarian and punitive to dissent. I find it ironic that many of my Boomer contemporaries are quick to embrace suppression of free speech and behavior. Don't like indoctrination about race and sexuality in schools? Shut up or be cancelled, if not attacked. Feel unsafe traveling to downtown? You're a racist. Think that closing schools and restaurants for Covid was an idea NOT supported by scientific evidence? You're a denier. I lived near 38th and Chicago in 1973-75, less than a block from George Floyd ground zero. It was a cool neighborhood then. Mixed economically and ethnically and not dangerous. I went back in January 2021 to take a look. Scary. Reminded me of places destroyed by terrorists. Ms. Byzness (haha I get the joke) is welcome to it. Enjoy the apocalypse from a front row seat.

And it tells us all we need to know about our sin before God and how to get right with Him by turning away from sin and trusting in the Lord Jesus and what He did on the cross. I was going to move my family out of Minneapolis. Then I decided that was an act of cowardice for me. The thing to do was fight back. Fight back by being Normal. Normal People doing normal things is what makes it safe for other normal people to do normal things.
But I had to deal with alley thugs / possible carjackers. Neighbors suffered home invasions and stolen SUVs. 2 to 5 carjackings/ week within blocks of my house. Accidentally walked with my kids directly next to an armed truck theft team. Nobody would go outside. I had to enhance my home defense situation.
Fight with the God-given inalienable rights and willingness to be normal. Need to go to the store? Go. Want to go to the Restaurant? Go. Need to fill up the wife's car after dark? Go.
If you need pepper spray, CCW, Karate lessons, etc. - do it and enjoy learning something new at the same time. Be willing to say No and push back appropriately for the situation. Active Self Protection channel on YT is awesome.

I like to hear that. You could find other people in your community and encourage them to do as you are doing. I live in IL and I want to do the same. I tried to think that way, but I realized I wasn't just up against criminals, I was up against the people funding and employing them, meaning government. Illinois is so corrupt that no matter what I did, I knew that I was up against the wall. I moved to the Bible Belt, because I felt that I was living in the Satan belt. I then ask them if they were democrats 30 years ago, how can they still be democrats today since the party has flipped 180 degrees from everything it stood for back then. Things like freedom of speech, individual rights, staying out of foreign wars, etc. They usually don't have an answer, call me something ending in "ist" then walk away. It's the legacy media's fault but they seem happy enough with the results.

I was a computer guy for the Minneapolis Police from 1995 - 2000. Minneapolis has turned into a shit hole for the hard working folk. The Mayor lives in a Utopian World, he has single-handedly destroyed the Police Department. My understanding the Mayor has hobbled the PD. I was told they don't investigate certain "crimes" because of race. I am so sick of the race card.
Race Crime Statistics Minneapolis Police Department 2000. In the Year 2000 89.7% of all violent crime was committed by black males under 30.
This is a fact. I worked there as a computer support tech from 1995 - 2000.
IF PEOPLE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE PEOPLE DO BAD THINGS. NOW THE FACT IS THERE IS NO OPPORTUNITY IN THESE AREAS FOR
YOUNG BLACK MEN AND WOMEN. How could they afford to go to college?
I can buy a house with the money it costs to go to college. Four million manufacturing jobs were shipped out of this county due to NAFTA.
I knew the statistics guy. I asked him for some numbers. First I asked who commits the most crimes in Minneapolis. He stated 89.7 percent of all violent crime was committed by black males under thirty years old. Then I asked how many of the black community are criminals. He said less than 2 percent.
The rest of the black community more 98 percent are hardworking honest people that DO NOT LIKE VIOLENCE OR CRIME. The next question is what is the percent of blacks vs others nationalities. He said 6 percent.

I lived in MN outside the Twin Cities in the early 2000s going to school and working in a factory. It was a really great place and after school I’d always wanted to move back at some point. It really felt like home. Even the roughnecks at work were pretty decent people. Before I’d moved up there, I had taken a two week trip up there and being a poor college kid I just opted to camp at a nearby lake. I stayed at the tent at night and went into the Cities to explore on my bike. Nobody ever messed with my camp set up that whole time. People were genuinely warm and inviting and I made a lot of friends. It is really a shame that this could happen to such a wonderful state. I hope that it can somehow turn around. It’s really propaganda nonsense that people have allowed into their thoughts and speech. It definitely not unifying.
