This situation is the fault of the California government. They failed to transport water from Southern California to the old trees and natural areas. Additionally, they did not allocate sufficient resources to the fire department to effectively combat the fires. It appears that the government does not prioritize the well-being of California. Consequently, I believe the entire California government should be held accountable and face legal consequences for their negligence.
Same thing happened in Victora & New South Wales Australia. Bad policies around not reducing fuel load in the understory of the forest destroyed Victoria's timber plantations.... Then years on we had a terrible problem with busfires that we horrific and mostly uncontrolable. The Government talking heads all put it down to...yes you guessed it... climate change. The Indigenous people in Australia understood how important reducing the fuel load was and practiced very carefully "controled burning" as part.of their way of life. Wont supply water?? you mean cant supply water? The drought have dried eveything out. - its almost as if the scientists was right when they told us we would see more and bigger fires in the years to come.

What people don’t understand is insurance is nothing but a business that hedges their bets. If there is not enough money coming in that they can use their reserves to earn interest on then they will cancel the area and do whatever they can to give their portfolio more money. I worked for one of the largest insurance companies in the world. Reserves are everything. Incoming income is everything. Pay out is discouraged at any cost.
has opposed to what, being a business that tries to lose money? I understand the issues of earthquakes, tornados, and hurricanes, all natural disasters where in some cases no way to mitigate the effective destruction But fire is completely manageable. A little known fact, after I had a conversation with my State Farm Agent. He stated that State Farm does not pay claims out of the proceeds from insurance policy premiums. They pay claims from State Farm's investments. He said the reason for this is that State Farm would not have enough funds to cover claims from their current policy premiums alone. If they paid claims from their policy premiums alone they would have to make premiums so high that most homeowners would not be able to afford them.
Exactly. People get all bent out of shape when they hear how much the company has "in reserve" and that's what it is: Reserved for potential claim payments". Those reserves are invested and money flows in and out of those investments when payments on claims are needed.
I am insured with State Farm. My premium fluctuates. I asked my agent about this and was told that it’s assessed by the number of claims filed in the region I am in. Costs are spread among the insured in your region. That’s what I was told. Do not know the accuracy of it.

He lied
I am insured with State Farm. My premium fluctuates. I asked my agent about this and was told that it’s assessed by the number of claims filed in the region I am in. Costs are spread among the insured in your region. That’s what I was told. Do not know the accuracy of it.

no one cares what you want
East Tennessee had significant damage from Helene, too.
How American are you.... California also has the fifth-largest economy in the world and the largest in the USA. Which states do you think they are subsidizing? Welfares states.. look up the states who take more than they give in federal taxes. You should be thanking California.
California creates probably the most national tax dollars out of any of the states. Shut it.
First the SAG-Aftra strike lasting 1 year, and now the biggest wildfire S. Cali has ever seen. Let's see how much the celebs care, let's see if they donate their millions to fix their city.
Most insurance companies leave CA and the only choice is the "Fair Plan" which costs more? Sounds like a monopoly or someone coming out big time
Why the hell am I paying for insurance if the federal government Covers everyone not insured and bails them out
thats because they are using it on free healthcare and housing for illegal immigrants. its all gone.
CA you are on your own financially. You voted for your Gov and your Mayor. In the meantime, billions of fed dollars given away or missing
Yea. CA is pourning billions into the fed economy.
Its almost as if CA would have had something to work with if they didnt have to subsidice 5-7 red states
Welcome to North Carolina, they are getting a dose of our reality
Insurance companies need regulation whether it's housing, medical or auto...
Blame the leaders not insurance companies. C'mon people. Hold these leaders accountable, including this administration. Go to the source!!
Oh yeah. Let's blame the California governor for the wildfire. LOL
@gregorylyon1004 Ignorance is not bliss. I moved from CA. Wise up.
@@gregorylyon1004 First rule of risk management. Plan for the worst and hope for the best... It's all about mitigating the risk and that state has had more high monetary risk wildfires in the past two decades than any other so what was the plan? Parade around on camera after you had dams removed where water could be accessible which make him such a great governor. Him and his administration bears most of the responsibility for that outcome, plain and simple.
Right... Don't blame the people that are denying people coverage in order to make a buck...
@159Dingo Why are they denying? It has to do with leaders not doing their job to control these wildfires.
These home owners are responsible for home owners insurance, voting for a responsible gov, mayor to oversee their safety.
Got water access, use it, keep your brush cut down, get out and help with your fire.
Build a swimming pool in the backyard?
I pray for that safe peoples my Allah bless
I as an American taxpayer absolutely reject paying to bail out those affected.
I’m surprised any insurance companies are providing coverage anywhere in southern California
I'll continue to live in my middle class home in Tennessee, thank you.
Shhh😊
Get ready.... they are coming to change your state.
In California the fair plan is so expensive everybody calls it the unfair plan
Roughly 3.25x what a normal plan would be.
