It does sound amazing. But I think I'd like a poster of the map as well. Usually dice trays are really expensive, even though they are rather simple to build. I usually put cloth from Walmart on the bottom of trays if it is made of wood
Thanks for putting all this info together for us. This all sounds pretty great. Im looking forward to these releases with anticipation! Ive been feeling kind of bummed over the many 2024 waves quality control issues. Hopefully these problems will have been sorted out by then.
super excited!Yeah! New common squads! A bit bummed that there won’t be any new historic/ mythology figures anytime soon, but the new themes are also cool!
I thought the Avalon Hill team said something about basically needing to be careful about offending people or cultures by their choice of historical units that they develop. Too many people are too easily offended these days! Just make mounted Mongolian Archers already!
@@kimobruns I agree. Aside from the lack of historical units, though, I'm happy with everything else. Even the jungle trees are workable without modifications, according to Sir Heroscape's more recent GenCon review video. 👍
I think the biggest thing that needs to be avoided is making offensive people in history units. As well as avoiding putting historic people in evil groups. They can also just make fantasy units like the Knights of Weston and Agents. None of the factions that really have historic units are evil. I'd love to see more Indians and more synergy with the Mohicans. Einar has the most historic units and he isn't really evil either. I think adding on to what we already have would be a massive problem. Besides Heroscape isn't D&D... at least not anymore. I don't think Heroscape has a big enough presence for anything to come out as offensive. At least not to an extent that would get them 'cancelled'
@@SirHeroscape well I liked how it was just interesting you didn’t really let the video linger and got to the point but also covered some extra stuff in depth. Like I was listening to it on audio while I was working and I was engaged and could picture everything you were talking about in my head. Have you ever considered making an iceberg style video just going into the history of the game like trivia and what not? I’d love to hear something like that from a veteran like you.
Very happy about the common squads! I'm confident that Renegade will get the distribution right this time around. I'm planning to attend Gen Con and ScapeCon 2025! This is too much Heroscape goodness to be finding out on TH-cam anymore 😂😂😂 I'm giving myself a Heroscape allowance. I'm so glad and excited Heroscape is back, and that Renegade is leading it.
@@SirHeroscape We have come such a LONG way from the HasLab/Avalon Hill days. If you have any contacts over at Renegade, please give them my compliments. I've rarely seen a business pull off a turnaround like this listening to community (i.e. customer) feedback!
This all sounds pretty exciting! The terrain packs is a huge win. I know DnD and Warhammer do this, but it feels weird to me to buy singular models in a box when 99% of my collection came from bundled boxes.
I love that hat and man that’s alot of stuff to keep track of I thought we would get information on an orc on a mammoth and the penguin with a Machine gun
For those who don't know, a tanuki is an animal from Japan that is basically a combination of a weasel, like he said, and a raccoon. They are often called Racoon Dogs, so if you play Animal Crossing, think of Tom Nook. Anyway... from everything he said.... we seem to be getting the following. (This is just an idea. They could combine some of these especially if some are only two man squads. They seem to want to keep about 5 or 6 figures or so per pack at most. Unless they are promo like figures. 5 or 6 if medium/small. 4 if 1 large and 3 mediums. and 2 if two large. 1 if a huge.) 11 Unique Boxes. 4 Commons Boxes. 5 Promo Figures (One seems to be a common which is odd for a promo). 5 Terrain Sets. 3 Accessories sets. So you better save a lot of money lol. Based on what we got in the first two waves... It seems this is the amount of each we are getting. 16 Unique Heroes. 4 Unique Heroes that are Promos. 2 Common Heroes. 1 Common Hero that is a promo. 5 Unique Squads. 6 Common Squads.
Thanks for sharing! Love the idea of terrain packs. As an owner of the swamp of the morrow figures without any tiles, it doesn’t sound like there’s an update on any swamp or swamp water, correct?
Agree. I hated that I could never get Master Woo. And his figure is like $300 now on ebay. I know they rereleased Sir Hawthorn and Nalak which was awesome. And Agent Skahen was easy to reproduce. And Samuel Brown isn't really official. But it would be nice to get them. I know you can by 3d printed stuff online. But out of all the heroscape, except the new stuff, Master Woo is the only character I don't have.
So just a question because like many, most people try to get doubles of common/uncommons. Is every set that has come out in 2024, are they all unique heroes/squads? So we don't really need a second set? I know I read something where they seem to be making D&D Scape non canon, but are there any Uncommon Heroes or anything? Based on what you said, I am going to assume every in 2024 is Unique, but just want to make sure.
I wonder if I and other people had something to do with the laur wall pack because while I don't know what goes on in the discord because I don't follow it, I emailed renegade asking about plans to make wall packs and they said "not at this time" I want those walls!
Same bought. What is worse is it is more now than every set between 2004 to 2013 now. $1700+ (Not even counting promos and terrain) for all the new sets in 2025, not counting what has already came out. And for everything from 2004 to 2013, if you were to buy at least two of each set and 5 masters sets, it is about 1560 at market price. This is if you get all painted and prices stay the same for what we've seen. (Also taking into account you only get 2 of each common set)
I hope these single boxes aren't too much. 45 for a single figure and unpainted is a lot. I guess we will have a better idea when they allow us to buy shiori and drake
seems a littel too much. also every 3 months now a new "wave" that seems not cheap maybe 200$. to buy and sell is really tough. that shops have so much room today?
Agree. This seems like a lot for a year. From what I did, all the sets is going to be $1700 if you get the painted version. And that isn't even counting the terrain and promos. Having one in mid year and at the end of the year would have been nice. It would also be nice if the last set was closer to the holidays. Because it seems like they are going to sell out so quick, they unless you get it right then and there, you are going to have to pay 100+ on ebay or somewhere.
Prediction: Raelin 4.0 will be an unmounted, single space figure, and she will give all friendly figures within 4 clear sight spaces +1 defense, and all unfriendly figures within 4 clear sight spaces -1 defense. 130 points.
Depends. I have a feeling it is going to be a non mind shackled raelin. I'd love for her to keep her mount though. But in the old videos. She was only Mind Shackled for like one battle before she was freed.
I finally got my painted copy of the game. The paint quality is poor compared to legacy. Over spray, missing features and misaligned patterns are all over the place. Sgt Alexander has a green face. Really disappointed considering the cost of each figure in the set. Legacy figures never had these issues. Oh well. At least the terrain is spot on.
Sounds like a ton of melee figures again. I am not at all excited about this. The old sets had a way more balanced approach to combat. Melee only is boring
I'm a fan of melee units, but I agree that they need more range 6+ units, or otherwise the multiple anti-range specialities that many army cards have are irrelevant.
@@ProdigiousReturn well the don't know yet. The harpoon ones look like harpoon guns. So they are likely range. And usually when you say acolytes, it is talking about mages.
