LOL so much to talk about. First. Lifting aluminum heads off the block with engine hoist. 😂 Heads should only have to come off if you’re replacing lifters, it is easier to replace the springs and install the headers by removing the heads tho. Never seen anyone drop the subframe or remove the oil pan. Seems like a whole bunch of unnecessary labor.

I know this comment is old but clearly they put new head gaskets so the heads did in fact have to come off.

Is all of that really necessary like removing the heads and dropping the subframe? I've seen it done by just making enough room in the front of the engine to physically fit the cam in the engine.

@@deebo_srt1513 now thats where i definitely say its not necessary. Draining the oil is one thing but you definitely dont need to remove it for a cam install. I could see maybe removing the heads if youre doing the lifters and pushrods but even then idk

So I'm still new to all this stuff, what kind of timeline are you looking at for putting in a new aggressive cam and longtube headers? Obviously it's not a same-day job, just would love to know so I could plan out in the future if I would like to do this with my brand new Scatpack down the line

@@hitman__3926 Yeah ive talked to shops that want SO much to work on the hemi engines. 3300 sounds ridiculous to me but idk im not cammed so i cant say anything i guess. Most custom grind cams range from 1-2k but all the supporting mods put you right at like 5k for optimal performance which is crazy.

There's no need to drop the oil pan. What the fuck is with using an engine hoist to lift the heads? You guys need to hit the gym.The oil should be changed after running the cam in not before.
