    I have no idea how this video has been viewed so many times and "Liked" so few. Maybe people watching multiple times, but I am so grateful for this bud. Easy to follow and my Ring Doorbell works like a dream

    Hello, I have watched your installation video for the ring wired. All really good and easy to follow. I am going to put on order the transformer I need. Thanks. However, when I originally put up the doorbell I didn’t have brown wires poking out the the old door bell… just blue and white. How do I resolve this?

    Would this also make the chime work inside off new transmitter, as well as powering the ring off the mains? Our ring chime doesn't work through the deta doorbell at the moment.

    Wouldnt the old chime not work with this? i have the wired but looking for a chime to get it working

    I opted for the 24VDC transformer as the ring box looks a lot smarter, thinner profile and pretty much the same size as the old Deta box

    Looks like I have the same deta set up as you....Just about to purchase the ring doorbell 4 and transformer. What's the chances of shoehorning that transformer into the existing Deta box? I've just decorated around it so it would look good if I had to remove the full thing

    I bought this transformer to fit my wired ring doorbell and it was fine for the first day. Now there’s an audible humming coming from it, is that normal?

      All transformers make some noise, if it's too loud for you, then get a transformer that's from a well known brand, or buy the official ring transformer which is £20

    • @AhcMeUk
      @AhcMeUk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No the Deta is the wrong voltage. Deta is 220-240v 50hz DC and you need AC so a different transformer is needed.

      I tried a regulated 12v dc supply with this bell first and had the same symptoms (powered up but would not connect the the app) The app stated it was a power supply problem. Tried a 12v a.c. supply (actually, I used the same d.c. supply, but connected to the transformer, effectively by-passing the rectifier) and the bell connected to the app first time. So in other words the bell seems to need an a.c. supply to connect.
      I have since found out this bell WILL work with a d.c. supply, but it needs to be 24v, not 12v.

    I have an old multi voltage transformer with Earth, 4v and 8v to get 12v you wire the 4v & 8v together giving you the 12v. If your transformer works the same way you'd be putting 36v through your Ring doorbell.

    • @AhcMeUk
      @AhcMeUk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope 13v as you can see in the ring app the voltage stats.
