Yes, just had an interview yesterday. I agree with Nikki Moffat's comments below. I felt very confident going into the interview after watching this video and learnt much. The interviewer had about ten sheets of paper stapled together with questions. First he asked me to tell him about myself. Other questions included; Give me an example of when you worked well in a team to correct a problem and how did you over come it. Give me an example of when you have asked for help and how did you feel. Give me an example of when you gave someone help. Give me an example of when you had to face changes at work. Give me an example of when you have worked under pressure to meet a deadline. Why do you want to work for Royal Mail Then he told me the hours of work, and asked if had to give any notice period to a present employer. Also if I had any holidays booked Then I had a tour of the depot.

One about customer service and your strengths within that. One about dealing with changes at work. One about working under pressure. One about working as a team and helping out a team member. Great video. Just had my interview and most of these questions were covered. Was also asked about adapting to change in the workplace. Also, you need to do a basic eyesight test for a driving roll (reading a number plate of a car parked in the distance)
Great video, very informative & useful for anyone attending an interview. Had my 2nd one yesterday & feel it went better than the 1st following absorbing this information. I had a sight test (driving position) Needed proof (original + copy) of my NI number (didn't notice that being part of the document list. 2nd proof of address, over & above driving licence. I was asked a team contribution question. Meeting a deadline question. Managing technological change question. Fitness level question. Fingers crossed.
If you take a birth certificate for proof of identity, according to the HR recruitment documentation, you need a proof of NI number to accompany it. The candidate documentation fails to mention that for some reason. I thought that would be worth mentioning since that seems to be what happened to Keto Hiker in this comment section.
Thank you so much for this video . As others have mentioned BRING YOUR NATIONAL INSURANCE CARD !! AND PHOTO COPY ALONG WITH PHOTO COPIES OF OTHER DOCUMENTS. I took passport, drivers drivers licence and NATIONAL INSURANCE card (thanks to the comments) I applied for a Sunday post . I was asked only five questions which were basically why i want the job , related experience questions, availability for other work and being flexible. It was a relaxed interview with only one person. They showed me were i would sort and collect and then we had the interview which latest 30min . I shall update with result . Thanks again
@@sproutie200 NO , sorry ment to update. I was surprised as the interview went really well , and its was only for 6 hour on a Sunday delivering parcels. One thing that did stand out is that he told me if I don't get this role I can apply for others and won't need to do this stage of interview again . But on there emails they state you can't apply for new roles for 6 months. It all seemed a bit strange to me and I shall not pursue with royal mail .

As I said the interview went well , they should me round the sorting office and told me what I'd be doing . I have a clean driving licence and held one for 12 years . I was local and knew the area well . All a bit odd . Anyway hope you were successful. If you havent heard yet , check your royal mail account inbox

The interview seemed to go well - I don't know the outcome yet but hope I've been successful. Very friendly staff. Shown around the depot and sorting desks. Sight check. I had an interview back in 2017 and went blank when they asked something about 3 examples of something to do with the workplace. Possibly examples of safety or discrimination in the workplace or something similar. Can't quite remember now...
Interesting re the parcels requiring a signature question, RM have refused to allow recipients to sign since covid, so wouldn't that now require a different answer? Asking as I'm genuinely interested in working for them.
