    I have to give it to you! for the fact that you have just started making videos (from what I can see) you have clean videos, good information, thumbnails, music, the outro with it printing and just working just great allows people to think about what was said, and have some good music to listen to. I really would love to see where you take this channel! keep it up for real though don't see things like this so good right off the bat.

      Thanks! I wish I could say I just started off like this haha. I'm actually a filmmaker by trade so that helps a bit haha. I am trying to keep this channel simple and lower effort so I'm not constantly worrying if I'm in focus or not (my main good camera doesn't have autofocus so I got a simple one that does) while still providing valuable information. Hope you'll stick around! :)

    Great guide man, don't get me wrong the in box instructions weren't bad, but I much prefer a video guide and this one was on point and showed exactly what we needed to do.

    I got my Ankermake M5 today and I'm going to set it up this weekend. I don't know if you have other TH-cam channels, but you seem really well-prepared (good video, good audio, nice explanations).
    I had one question: at 12:15, with the Z-homing, it seems like both sides are not reaching the bottom at the same time and some sort of warping occurs? I don't know if that has to do with the levelling, but it seemed a bit strange to me.
    Thanks for the content, and I have subscribed and am looking forward to more videos

      Thanks! Yeah, I'm a filmmaker by trade so that's probably why xD. I'm trying to keep this channel simple but still good.
      As far as the sides moving separately, that's normal. That's just how it gets both motors homed properly. Kinda scary looking, but totally intentional. :) I hope...... Haha

    Good video! The one thing I will say is that your spool configuration could be problematic at higher z layers and maybe break your filament. I recommend rotating the arm up 90 degrees at the top position so it extends up over the top of the gantry.

    • @Ecto3DPrinting
      @Ecto3DPrinting  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ok, yeah, I can see that happening up there at the high points. But also wouldn't it been the same problem in the vertical orientation when the z-height is low? I guess I can try some things and find out! haha

      @@Ecto3DPrinting Your quick start guide should show you how to orient it, I dunno if it will really make a difference. Just thought I’d mention it 😁

      @Ecto3DPrinting  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's about 10 of them, and off the top of my head, there's a Benchy, a precision benchmark, a dog, a shark car?, yeah. I haven't used many of them since idk what the slicer settings were for them and I want to control my prints more than pre-sliced things.

      Thanks! Yeah, I just went right ahead and did it, and I've had no issues with adhesion. I adjusted it to +0.1mm. At 0 it seemed like it was really grinding into the plate.

    Hello, I am still starting with this, your video was a great help to set it up, but now I don’t know how to print my own design? Like which software, what is the extension acode? And how to print our own designs in it ?

    • @Ecto3DPrinting
      @Ecto3DPrinting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad I've been helpful so far. Here's my video on how to load print files. This should answer most of your questions: th-cam.com/video/hMBzTucBC0U/w-d-xo.html.
      Regarding the .acode extension, that is just the type of code the AnkerMake uses for print instructions. I'm pretty sure it's just .gcode that all other printers use but sometimes with the AI detection information.

      I think some other slicers have profiles or options to choose the M5 but I'm not familiar with them. Maybe I'll take a look into Cura and see what it takes to get up and going.

    Great video, I just got mine yesterday and put it together last night.
    I got mine set up and running but when I sent files from my computer it scrambled my prints and they didn't work? Have you printed from the ankermake slicer yet? Did you have any luck?

    • @Ecto3DPrinting
      @Ecto3DPrinting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. Yeah, I've done most of my prints direct from the slicer over the network with no issues. I would just say to make sure it's the latest version; mine is V0.8.6_3 and printer version is V2.0.56_2.0.48. That's all I got haha other wise idk what would cause that.

      Hey, yeah, I was a backer on Kickstarter. Commercially, they just finished with the pre-order period which ended the 15th, but I'm not sure when they're going to open it up fully. Sorry I don't have more info for ya.

    • @Ecto3DPrinting
      @Ecto3DPrinting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha thanks for the welcome!
      I've actually had zero issues with the WiFi connection. I have dual band WiFi, so 2.4 & 5, but no issues. The app does start by saying that the printer needs 2.4GHz in order to connect properly. Hope that helps!
      EDIT: I had some minor issues after the printer had been on for a while that the phone app wouldn't let me watch the live feed, but it was still updating the timer and stats.
