I love this video because Mike has such a soft spot in my heart. I wish we could have a better physical representation of him so that i could own Michael figurines.
I haven't thought much about the heart doodles in the logbook beyond going "awe, this is like a school notebook now", but you've definitely got me thinking about them now. My first thought is noting that those hearts are Mike's *only* contribution to the page. He's not actually filling in the blanks to list specific people he misses or is close to. It's like the hearts are just the way the book is signaling to us that yes, Mike read/considered the template on the page, and calling attention to the fact that he *can't answer* those questions. The hearts honestly make him seem lonely to me, like he wants to have people in his life who he sees and cares for enough to list there but just doesn't. Loneliness and generally being in a dark place are pretty core to his character (at least, what we have of it in canon) so I think that's potentially what the intention behind the doodles may have been.
I always thought that Schmidt was ms aftons maiden name, and that after a divorce post cc death he just took that name, and that Fritz smith is just some rando. The constant name changes people theorize always confused me
I always assumed AFTER sister location Michael can touch both sides of reality, he can see the dead while being alive. Thats how we works towards "The happiest day". He can talk to the ones that have died and that are stuck in these Animatronics. and after they invade his body he knows what william did to them, He put them back together so they can remember everything. I still think that "Being put back together" is their whole spirit in one body or item. Meaning they get all of their memories of being alive. this is why they are always described as "Conufsed" or/and "Angry" And once they've all been collected with all of their memories they can move on.
Yeah, Mike did look like a zombie, but only at first. Remnant has regenerative properties, so he started to look normal post-Ennard. He might have big ugly scars on his face and body though. 7:06 Yessss, the little heart doodles make Mike feel like an actual person. It gives me a heartwarming feeling when looking at them. Maybe they're just that, doodles with no significance, that you draw when you're bored. Or, maybe, Mike had a small crush/was interested in someone, and when he read the question, he thought about them and doodled the little hearts with that person in mind; perhaps with a faint smile on his face. He probably was going to write the name, but ultimately decided not to. Maybe he believes that he can't ever be with someone, because of how he looks and all the stuff that's going on in his life. Ok, that was enough fanfiction for today lmao. Gawd, Michael and William are my favorite characters haha. Awesome video! Loved it to bits.
I like to think he continued as a zombie to really hammer home the "I've been living in the shadows" line. maybe he could have used an illusion disc to help with job interviews tho. (Is this still on the "Possibly canonical to the games" table?)
@@abacaxigomes4416 Hmm I'm not really sure. I don't think illusion discs were ever canon to the games. They probs got retconned with Nightmare gas. The "I've been living in the shadows" could still work without him being a literal zombie though. His body and face could of completely healed, but left a lot of scars. Like when people are attacked by animals, and the skin doesn't look normal anymore; it heals but looks kinda deformed. Think of the Phantom Of The Opera. Also, in the story "You're The Band" there's a security guard named Mike, that looks collage age (Frights books take place in the 2010s if I'm not mistaken.) That could indicate that he looks relatively normal, and he stopped aging as well. (But this story is one of the scrapped ones, so I don't know how reliable they are.)
I think how much remnant determines how much he could actually heal. Just like how the fnaf 3 fire didn’t kill William but it lowered his levels of remnant that he looks broken down despite repairing himself and moves slower. So Michael probably looked the same way he did when his face was turning green
Thanks for your little rambly video. I love discussions of Mike (especially because we barely know anything about him). This video was like listening to a friend talk about their favourite topic
Ok you've opened me up to Henry's surname being Schmidt, mostly because there's a name meaning conspiracy within this Schmidt Conspiracy, for the name Schmidt means Blacksmith/Metal worker, which is PERFECT in connotation for Henry and his career, but also Mike's alias in FNAF 1 being to guard the animatronics and has worked on the Funtimes as a technician in SL, however it goes EVEN DEEEPER, because Schmidt is the german variant of the name, SMITH, like Mike's potential other alias in FNAF 2, Fritz SMITH, and it retains the meaning of Blacksmith/Metalworker. The names Henry and Freddy are also GERMAN in origin, so Michael using the german equivalent of one of his previous aliases for his new one that honors a person he felt close to in life, I could totally see happening, and Schmidt is just Smith but you rearrange the H and M, alongside adding the letters "C and D". In another example of like father, like son between the two Afton Men, William also has an alias surname that involves an occupation, that being Dave Miller from the Silver Eyes, Miller basically means to operate a Mill, a mechanical structure. Edit: Nearly forgot to mention but if Mike is going by Fritz Smith in FNAF 2, then there's another layer to him taking the name of one of the MCI kids whose name is shorthand for Freddy, and stuffed into FOXY, Mike's favorite character and symbol.
Clicked so fast when I saw the title of his video, also the Schmidt being Henry's surname idea really intrigued me, always thought that if anything it would be Ms Aftons maiden name. Also Ms Afton and Mike being close ♡ agh it does something to me,,, I have always hc that in life he had her eyes even if he looked like William, only for in death to have similar eyes to Springtrap. 0:55 I actually thought this was true but I went in and double checked… in the character encyclopedia where the mullet and overalls design was first shown, under the “His Final Resting (Pizza) Place” title they say “the name established for him in the FNaF books is Henry Emily” Could’ve been a mistake considering all the times the last name was seemingly omitted. But I’ll just take it unless Scott says otherwise. It is weird that they even bothered to just call him Henry in the character encyclopedia title tho. FNAF 6 never even gave him the name Henry, he was “Cassette Man” in the credits. Aside from the MCI who usually seem to be randomized, each timeline has the characters using the exact same names.
I like this, I think a lot of of people don't look at is how William stating Micheal isn't his son while favoring CC and Elizabeth showing psychological abuse, thus Michael developing a bully mentality to his little brother.
The way I think the scooping room means. Is that both of them did bad things and got the same punishment. However Mike became more man then machine and looks himself in the mirror, while Afton is more machine then man, doesnt accept what he became.
We aren't told a lot about him, but we are left to figure it out. and the story is there, you have to work for it though. He is the only one that is a FULL character with an Arc. And leaves the story with a ton of questions, with the most important one being "are you really dead?" Michael is the only one who knew about the Nightmares, only one with access to the phone in Fnaf 4, the only one who knew about the Plush 'dave' or 'CC' had. Security Breach proves that Michael is not only alive but some how has a hand in the Pizzaplex, there are things inside the building only he would know of.
Not only is Henry's last name never mentioned in game, his first name also isn't. The only thing we get in any of the games is "HRY223" so going by games alone you have no idea who this guy is
yknow im not sure many people brought this up but like, What effects would remnant actually have on a person or their personality? Because like The hatred of bein murdered n stuff kinda doesnt feel like it'd just be like "Nuh uh" to death. Just makes you wonder
My headcanon theory for page 16 is that he noticed the strange conversation type notes between the two spirits (David and Cassidy) and noticed that maybe, just maybe, his brother was still there, and those hearts were his first attempt to reach out to him. Just a cute little headcanon though. Edit: Another headcanon I have for Mikey: If Michael is the FNAF 4 player, and they're actually nightmares not whatever is happening in the books. Michael as a kid, and as an adult, is represented by foxy, right? Well, what is the only animatronic that's in THE CLOSET in Fnaf 4? Foxy. So I headcanon Mike as Bi.
The random hearts do remind me of an idea some people in the fandom have of a what if Sammy (Henry's son and Charlie's brother in the novel trilogy) was in the games, and sorta became a duo with Michael, some even ship it, so there is that.
Wouldn't Mike be way older than Sammy tho? In the novel Charlie is born in 1980 and dies in 1983, meaning she was 3. Since Sammy is her twin brother, he's also 3. In 1983 Mike would be around 12-15. That's a big age gap if you ask me.
@LadyLuckyLu True, but they are different continuities, Michael doesn't even exist in the novel trilogy for instance, so who knows how old Charlie is in the games? An interesting thing about FNAF is that because we have so little info we can make up whatever like ages and stuff, even Michael can be younger since we also don't know his age.
