- Is the 7artisans 35mm F1.2 the best budget lens you can buy for the fujifilm x mount series? Let's find out in this video! I've been shooting with this lens for quite some time and something about a budget lens made in china makes me have zero expectations when I am using for photography... yes it is! My favourite manual lens. Great storytelling lens and 35mm vibes for black and white . My aperture ring is great. From 2.8 it's great. The softness at 1.2 for the size is great. I compared it to the new voigtländer 35mm1.2 and prefer the 7artisans one

@@Iamtongue Yes. It's less soft from 1.2 to f2. 7artisans has less stressy bokeh. It's more smooth. The Voigtländer 35mm f1.2 was for me the biggest dissapointment together with XE4 since I moved over to Fujifilm 4 years ago I was planning to buy both but after trying I kept my money. I've been using the 7artisans 35mm1.2 mark2 for a year now almost everyday. And I'd give it a 9 of 10 looking at built quality, price, size and optics. I don't use it for landscape or things far away. I prefer it from 1m to 10m and close portraits. Centre sharpness is very similar to XF35mmf2 from f2.
@@Swingkid14 interesting.. I was even thinking about buying a voigtlander lens to test out... This worries me because i was really interested in the 23mm F1.2 from voigtlander.
@@Iamtongue I've heard that their 23mm1.2 is better by the people who own both. Many buyers have send the 35mm1.2 back. I'm saving up for a Nikon FM2, 50mm 1.8 and 28mm 2.8. Not too expensive but film is🤣. But the XF35mm 1.4 is still my favourite lens of all time.

More lenses and sensors should aim for character over clinical resolution and aspherical elements. I think the images look gorgeous. What kind of editing did these need and what are your grain settings (for the portraits at 2:38, 4:24, 4:56, 5:34). I love those images, the softness and tones convey more feeling.

2) since I want to switch my camera from my old Canon m6 to an Fuji camera specially for taking pictures with a film quality.
I'm really not sure which one to buy if I should buy the X10s the camera you are using or the x1000v. Just regarding to the quality of pictures specially Film Modus and for street photography which camera would you recommend ? Sorry for my bad English im from Germany 🤣

I really love that camera and I think it can do a little bit of everything for photographers on different levels... If you are starting out you won't be disappointed with the Fujfiilm XS10 :D

Do you think that at F2.8 this lens is sharp enough for when I do want to resolve some detail?
Also, do you have any vintage 35mm 2.8 lenses to compare it to?
Yea f2.8 should do the trick... and no i havent tried any vintage lenses.
The weird thing is that it's the lens I've used most these last weeks. It's just so fun using..! Even though i have 3 other lenses that is much better it's the feel of nailing focus and lowlights on 1.2 with a defuse filter makes the highlight look soooo fucking badass! Especially in BW if u use the alan schaller recipe with this lens . 😍🤙🥳

Really enjoyed the photos. Some feedback - would be great if you turn down the volume of the “click” when you show those photos, or choose a different click altogether. This one was very hard/sharp/loud on the ears, especially compared to your volume. Cheers.

I've had this the past 90 days .. had to go through 2 copies to get a very sharp model. Beautiful bokeh, acceptable sharpness, lots of ghosts but looks the most full frame image so far for my Fuji. I prefer it to my native Fuji 35 1.4.

How does this lens render compared to Meike 35 mm 0.95? Thinking of substitute the Meike for this 7 artisans or a ttartisan...
Meike is much sharper at f0.95 than this 7artisans is at f1.2

I have tried some TTArtisan lenses and they work just fine (especially for the price), with much better results than with Viltrox lenses, I don’t know if 7 Artisans is the same manufacturer as TTArtisan.
ohhh really.. what lenses did you like from the TTaristans? the names are very similair thats why i think they could be the same lol
@@Iamtongue From TTArtisan the 17mm and 35mm, both f/1.4 for Fuji, recently I got the Rokinon 12mm f/2 and it works great on the X-T4.
Those images look wonderful, less clinical than the usual "super sharp" ones we get flooded with, day after day.

it feels like are joking about it to much to take ur statements seriously haha It think its fundamental to gain some diversity between lenses. Aftermarket this costs 80 bucks and is a no brainer to have that CHARACTER... :D
