Great video, Thank You. I just purchased the 33mm after shooting with the 35mm 1.4 for a bit. It bothers me too much that it doesn't resolve my 40mp XT-5. When I pixel peep compared to my 16-55mmF2.8 its got a lot of issues which drive me crazy. I try to tell myself that its character, that its OK, but I just can't shake it. I will see once the 33 comes in to see what I end up using as you did. Have fun!

also, I ordered the Hoage square lens hood for the 33mm since you mentioned you liked that style.

Oooh that looks excellent! Definitely lends some visual flair to the 33mm that it otherwise lacks. Let me know how you feel about the 33mm when it comes in 🙌

Why pixelpeep? Just print and enjoy! The prints from 35mm1.4 comes out great

Great video! I would recommend turning down the volume on your music to match the levels of your talking voice as its very loud compared to the rest of the video.

According to your title, it would probably be more powerful to showcase how imperfection affects your image/shooting style in a nice way rather than telling people to concede its flaws.
Didn't get the vibe of the lens in your photos honestly. And with the color grade, I even feel like a sharper and more contrasty lens could have done it better.
Those are indeed great photos, and good for promoting a gear. But not such a convincing way imo if you wanna talk about "Why perfection is boring".

Talking about a 600$ lens as if its some flea market retro stuff that still holds up today xD

You seem to mix up technological progress and photographic talent. If you are a very talented photographer, you can shoot awsome artistic images with even a Kodak Brownie. But if you are just as talented and you have the latest photographic equipment that of course is much better than a Brownie, your work will be much better too, as one always has to work within the limitations of one's equipment. It's only boring when you lack creativity.
It's the same with all the enthusiasts that qualify imperfections as character. They like to drive vintage cars that are much worse than modern cars, they listen to music on vinyl and valve amplifiers because these have a much warmer sound, because of all the harmonic distortions, than the modern digital recordings that are flawless and a much closer reproduction of reality.

Perfection is boring... and yet they ridicule an entry full frame like the S9 for not having flagship cosmetic feats.

Maybe the price triggered many non targeted people

The only thing I don’t like about this lens is the chromatic aborations.
