I turn off all noise reduction in all of my cameras. I find it hard to understand the criticisms of noise when people are pixel peeping. I intentionally add grain to my photos in post (good light or bad) as I find it gives texture to the final image. The latest apsc sensors are incredibly clean at low light. I find with the Fuji when noise does start to show it’s very fine and random in pattern. It prints really really well like a slower speed film asa 200 or 400. Your work is outstanding by the way. Thank you for all of your hard work and really putting yourself out there. It’s inspiring.
Love your way of thinking. Nice video as always. You made me think about this low light noise matter differently. Awesome images, I had not watched this session yet.
Really nice shots. Many of them look like movie stills, and I love the vibe. My first Fujifilm camera was the XE1. I bought it used for, I believe, $185 (US). I just wanted to see what it could do, so I shot in jpg, and made several at ISO 12,800. They were noisy, and I would never do that for certain kinds of shoots, but I didn’t get a single comment from people about the noise- not even from the girl in the photos. If you need totally clean images, you can worry about noise, but for artistic shots and portraits that convey emotion, if people are only noticing things like noise, the other aspects of the photos are definitely lacking.
Love your attitude my friend. I love your images and your deep appreciation for light. Which to me is everything. Light and shadows, the reason to live. lol. Hey thank you for this great motivation! I just switched from Canon to Fuji and it was a big decision for me to "downgrade" from full frame to an aps sensor. I am a weddingphotographer and everyone was like "nooo don't do it"! I really like my XT-5 but I had some issues when using it in low light situations. Maybe you can help me out. It wasn't even night just normal sunset and I wanted to have some group pictures. But the faces looked so horrible. I can't even describe it. The white in the eyes were red and the face looked deformed. Did somebody experience it and knows what to to do?
How about using a full-frame sensor camera and wide-aperture lenses with tried and true focal lengths for professional paid-by-client works and using whatever for personal pleasure and experimentation?
@@induction7895 given that "full frame" is 35mm equivalent, to bring up the "use a pro setup" argument (which almost certainly isn't the issue in the OP's case) has to begin at medium format.
I shot low light stuff with the Olympus em1 mkii and it was fine! I had to use the f1.2 lenses but couldn’t tell a difference between that and a full frame camera
4:17 I get what you mean but feels like you took that as an offence. Maybe they were assholes with the sole intent to judge your work but maybe they just wantet to tell you incase you didnt notice. I dont like the mentality "if you cant do better than me you have no right to critisice me" with that logic no one would be allowed to criticize or judge anyone that works as a Pro.
People are really scared about iso and I already shoot in iso 4000 or more for some reasons in my canon (it have not ibis and my hands shake too much) 😂, now I have a Fujifilm with ibis and I don’t care too much my ss so I can decrease the iso but I still use 1250 or 2000

thanks bro!@@Iamtongue
☺️😉
Fujifilm = FILM = Soft.
And that’s okay 😅
Hey thank you for this great motivation! I just switched from Canon to Fuji and it was a big decision for me to "downgrade" from full frame to an aps sensor. I am a weddingphotographer and everyone was like "nooo don't do it"! I really like my XT-5 but I had some issues when using it in low light situations. Maybe you can help me out. It wasn't even night just normal sunset and I wanted to have some group pictures. But the faces looked so horrible. I can't even describe it. The white in the eyes were red and the face looked deformed. Did somebody experience it and knows what to to do?
Could be the noise reduction, it could be the skin smoothing effect is turned on. I honestly don’t know.
Check all your settings - sounds like it's potentially a film simulation or even ISO issue (regarding the skin tone problems described).
Lightroom has an AI noise reduction feature, would this count as an appropriate low light portrait aid? 😊 Although not for 12800😯
Ya that would totally help! And with topaz ai you can clear anything up
led sticks seem really cool, but harsh light transitions idk
there are ways around it. such as dont use it at full intensity
I was wondering, if you don't like red light, couldn't you just spin the hue whee in post?
Either way it’ll look overpowering imo
@@Iamtongue I get ya, it did look quite dominant.
I imagine how will it be with my m43 camera under the same circumstances
I shot low light stuff with the Olympus em1 mkii and it was fine! I had to use the f1.2 lenses but couldn’t tell a difference between that and a full frame camera
Its funny how they call this "a snow storm"😂
You gate keeping snow storm now? 😂
believe me it's easier for me to buy a ff camera and fast lens than find a photography buddy to hold a light 😂
Someone get this dude some friends
I can't say that I can't do it when I know I can!
Yup! I think everyone can 😌😉
4:17 I get what you mean but feels like you took that as an offence. Maybe they were assholes with the sole intent to judge your work but maybe they just wantet to tell you incase you didnt notice. I dont like the mentality "if you cant do better than me you have no right to critisice me" with that logic no one would be allowed to criticize or judge anyone that works as a Pro.
People are really scared about iso and I already shoot in iso 4000 or more for some reasons in my canon (it have not ibis and my hands shake too much) 😂, now I have a Fujifilm with ibis and I don’t care too much my ss so I can decrease the iso but I still use 1250 or 2000
man i shot at iso 10,000! Slap on some denoise and call it a day
