    I've had both and nothing compares to the Raptor. Tune the suspension right and you leave the Honda in the dust. As for maintenance they both were pretty much bulletproof. I rode rally on the Raptor over 500 miles of the roughest terrain and it never let me down and its never had a mechanical failure in the ten years of ownership. The Honda was the same except the output shaft did have some issues which is expected considering the driveline setup. Honest review the ergonomics of the Raptor are better, better handling and better stability. The Honda has better ground clearance in the rear, plusher rear end and a bit more torque. Both motors are equal displacement and extremely reliable with a nice low rpm grunt. Overall the Hondas a better cruising and light trail riding quad. If you want a faster more race aggressive machine get the Raptor. It's almost a 100 pounds lighter and far more stable with the solid axle rear, but again what you gain in handling performance you lose in comfort.

      In my opinion, i like yamaha as in a atv brand than anything else, they make phenomenal atv’s as in the Raptor 660, Raptor 700, Banshee 350, and the the Blaster 250, all great quads, i currently have a 01-Raptor-660, flexed up to 686 big bore with Monster Exhaust, it is a beast, it dawgs the Honda TRX700XX, it is a drag Race Beast, suspension is tuned perfectly, has a aftermarket intake, with a axle swing arms, its just a perfect atv💯

    I have the Honda, love the IRS, it makes dirt trails so much better, and honestly pretty fucking great at the dunes too. Never owned a Raptor, but I've ridden them many times. I think Hondas are much more comfortable and easier to ride. The Raptor feels seated lower. I hated having my knees high. The 700 sits high enough that my knees are positioned just right. Now give me a Honda 400ex with a 700 engine! That would be the best ride.

    the most thing I like is the raptor 700R SPECIAL EDITION the reason why I love the raptor is because It has digital meter display and real fast as hell I can jump real high and land soft yamaha is creating some awesome machine like YFZ 450R SE and raptor 700r these are the most best selling sport atv on planet nothing can stop yamaha from building these awesome bikes

    I'm 260 pounds and love my 700xx. I put a aftermarket sway bar on mine and it drifts perfect!

      What brand and from where? They are hard to come by and I've read it is the single best upgrade you can make to these. I've been considering buying a used one, but I can't find anymore of the sway bars that you found.

      You put a f*ckin buffalo on any quad and its gonna need more power. Both of these quads make plenty of power for average sized humans, but the f*ckin Kool-Aid man might need more. Lol

    Which is better for speed and dunes, Honda 450trx or Yfz 450 ?

  • @juliojrodriguez4903
    @juliojrodriguez4903 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    the honda trx700 is better in all , the independent rear suspension is great in all terrain , i have the raptor 700 also , but the honda 700xx is the perfect machine.

    I’ve had a 08 raptor and an 08 TRX I would say the trx is more of a trail bike not saying it can play on the race track. And the raptor is the opposite if you were gonna get either of these bikes you should get maxxas razors.

    I use to ride with a buddy in highschool an he had a raptor 700 pipe an jet kit an beefed up tie rods an lone star axel an bearings. An he would beat the piss out of that thing but he also took care of it. But it was quick the tires almost came off the beads a few times till he got bead locks lol but if always been a honda guy rode with him with my xr200. Reliable tho. But I do wonder how the irs holds up. Killer vid

    My Honda is so much less maintenance than my old 700r too! Good old Honda hop on and ride!

    • @dirtlegends1008
      @dirtlegends1008 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Ethan Fredricks not sure how you figure less maintenance on the Honda...I had both and they both required the same amount, typical oil changes and tune ups. If anything the Honda required more because the rear end bushings needed greased more often and the output shaft oil seals seemed to go bad sooner than the Yamaha because of the centric driveline and added weight.
      In any case I had both machines ten years and ran them through everything imaginable and neither one ever had a mechanical failure. I'd say that's a big salute to Japanese engineering.

    Always stay clear of a bike that was only manufactured for one year. Rare bikes = rare parts.

      True that , when I owned one I needed a rear bearing and it took three months to arrive from Japan , as well as limited aftermarket hop ups.
