The real antagonist of LCS is Sal's uncle. I would really appreciate a few phone calls from Torini and Vincenzo to establish tension and their presence.
It's coincidental you made this video, because I am actually working on rewriting this story and right now, my plans for Vincenzo is to trick Toni into letting bygones be bygones and set him up a second time and secretly try to have Sal killed so he could take over as the Don of the Leones instead. Also, I would actually have Torini more as a surprise villain by gaslighting the gang members so his own gang would take over to play into more of his Chessmaster traits and make him more of a spoiler character. And yes, in my rewrite version, Joey and Luigi appear there too.
Curly Bob could also appear, according to beta script he was a Leone Sniper that fell from his grace after missing a shot and becoming a drunk and drug addict to cope
I think Torini could try to recruit Toni by poiting how even after Toni saved Salvatore multiple times and basically made the Leones stronger by himself he never got respect from Salvatore (of course before he was made),having a idiot like Vincenzo as his capo(if he didn't die),have Torini be like Ray Bulgarin, promissing that Toni would be better working for him,but for that to work we should do missions for Torini or have him appear earlier in either Vincenzo or Salvatore's missions, maybe we could also have Mickey Hamfists being a recurring ally,Uncle Leone appearing earlier, and Joey Leone,Luigi and Curly Bob appearing too, maybe if the Sicilian mafia wasn't revealed as a enemy in their first appearence
It's a shame because the seeds and ideas were there, it's just that everyone that had the potential to be important were absent. Even the Leones felt like it was only composed of Toni and Salvatore due to the lack of appearances from important members of the family like Joey and Luigi.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Paulie Sindacco and Franco Forelli considering that the former only appeared in two missions with just two lines, and the latter made no appearance in the game at all. They definitely should have been featured more as secondary antagonists as well since their families were part of the three-way war as well.
Actually yeah, they could've worked too. Perhaps have one main antagonist for every island, and then Torini at the end too. I just tried to rewrite what Rockstar already gave us, which had plenty of wasted potencial.
You know what would have made Torini work as a villain? That he actually had a motivation as an antagonist. Remember the made man Toni killed 4 years prior to the storyline's setting? We could make that more relevant to the storyline and we get the twist at the end that the made man Toni killed was a member of the Sicilian family and that Torini was trying to instigate a gang war between the Leones, Sindaccos, and Forelli just to get closer to Toni to take revenge on him for what the latter did. That would make Torini more enticing as a villain. I would also have Vincenzo as a mole to Torini to make him a great secondary antagonist.
the Portland missions were fine but once you get to Staunton and shoreside vale, you kinda start to wonder who's the real antagonist I know in every rockstar game there's always that one antagonist we love and hate at the same time, in lcs it's kinda confusing, I wish it explained the beef salvatore had with torini,or have Vincenzo get fed up with sal favoring toni over him and it would make him upset and try to create his own family but he gets manipulated by torini, the scenario would follow during Staunton after the mission caught in the act, sal tells toni that there's a rat in the leone family that's feeding information to the Sicilian mafia for torini, then over the course of the game toni has to gather info about the rat from various gangs like the yardies, yakuza or the other gangs that might've worked with the rat, and after the mission shoreside redemption toni finds out that Vincenzo jumped ship and was the rat the entire time working for torini, torini plans to help Vincenzo take out toni and possibly tries to offer him an opportunity to form his own family and toni has to take out Vincenzo, they end up fighting at the top of the helipad at the bigshot casino with some of Vincenzo's men helping him similar to the fight Armando mendez had with vic in vcs, after toni kills him Vincenzo tries to flee but he gets caught by the Sicilian mafia and torini kills Vincenzo, and we have to escape following up to the final mission.
Vincenzo could’ve been as good a villain as Dimitri, going from right hand man to man willing to betray anyone to get ahead and make the protagonist’s life miserable.
I think the more involvement of the Leone family member would help the Vincenzo as a main antagonist rewriting, like we had a character from the family helping us out or at least had some involvement innit which the original game lack of.
I would have just completely redone GTA Liberty City Stories. I would make it take place in different time periods per-act. With the settings being the 60's and final act being in the 70's. Act 1would take place in Portland. Act 2 in Staunton Island. Act 3 would take place in Shoreside Vile, and the Epilogue would be in Portland again. The protagonist would be a young Tommy Vercetti. It would go through his life before and after him joining the Foreilli Crime Family; his relationship with his father, his friendship with Sonny, and end with the events that got him the nickname: the Harwood Butcher.
I really enjoyed this video a lot! I would like to see a video in the future of how you would make and write the story of a GTA San Andreas Stories and/or even a single player story DLC for GTA 5.
LCS is a great game. But you're right, it does suffer from a lack of a proper antagonist, which Vincenzo could've easily filled. However, look at it like this, - Vincenzo seemingly kept tabs on Toni, so he tried to have him killed earlier because he was on the rise in the family, plus he's got history with the Don himself. I presume Salvatore knew Toni killed him in self-defence and that whole situation was a test on his part - the stronger one survives and would prove more useful and powerful for Salvatore in the long-run, plus he and Toni has history. However, Salvatore does express doubts about Toni later which might be because he killed Vincenzo and Salvatore felt he may not could trust him. Overall I agree with your points, and I also agree with the notion of Vincenzo fearing to betray Salvatore either out of fear or respect. But in that scenario he does, it could be out of massive jealousy or paranoia that Toni would get power-hungry and kill him to assume his full authority. But, on the other hand, Salvatore could have two capos which would boost his position as well. The Ancelotti crime family had two capos as well, and Luigi is also believed to be a Leone capo, along with Joey. Torini serves a good role as a background antagonist, but the concept that he's Salvatore's antagonist doesn't really fit in as Sal is not the main protagonist. Toni should have his own history with him as well, and many antagonists threaten both the main character and their closest ally so it could work. Perhaps as seen in the SC unofficial expansion to LCS following the Sindaccos, Torini could manipulate Toni to do his bidding and then set him up, which Salvatore could have Toni play along with until the betrayal to keep a closer eye on the Sicilians. Sal is a stratigest and an opportunist so such an opportunity to be taken advantage of, even if it's through risking his most valuable asset, befits his character.
This is a late comment lol, but I'll say it. Massimo Torini could've been a great example of an Emilio Barzini type villain in GTA had he played more of a role in the story.
It would have made more sense for vinnie to join the sicillians and betray the leones and become the double agent for torini and tge sicilians and become the main antagonist

Been reading the rewrite for some time and I enjoy it.
Will Franco Forelli also appear too?

@mr.andrew7820 shit I forgot about Curly Bob lol. If Luigi's Club had an interior it would've been nice to see him as the bartender.
I didn't know you are on TH-cam, waters. I like your ideas so far.

We only get two cameos from Mickey Hamfists
@@mr.andrew7820 The gap of his appearances is so few and far in-between that I end up forgetting that he was even in the story lmao

Joey should have been in the game since he's the Don's son
Yeah weird he and Luigi never pop up and are barely mentioned at all

The one thing I'm happy about with this messy story is the goat Frank Vincent coming back as Sal again
He came back after doing 20 fucking years

@@AgentDanielCross Yeah him too
@@Jar3xe him and Toni being both up and coming stars of the family like Tony and Jackie Sr.
This video hasn’t released at the time of this comment, but I’d say make Vincenzo a mole for Torini so they both have bigger roles in the story

Maria put Toni through hell, but jokes aside, this game I feel kinda struggled with an antagonist?
Because you are the most evil character in short you are the villan
atleast i get something for my birthday with this vid tomorrow
Happy birthday!

This was my least favorite GTA because for one the setting as well as the story was so drab.

Yeah, LCS is quite a nasty game.
I would rewrite the crap out if it.
