Today (14.08.2024) 2 years after my last comment here, I remembered the sound and I had to hear it again today! Really cool! It's a real catchy tune 🙂 ... Best regards!
Haha! That was actually one of my inner visions when doing this :-) Miami vice or Knight Rider but with even more palm trees. 🌴🌴🦩🌴🚗🌴 Glad it was heard!
Ludvig, this was fantastic, all around. Please turn this into a full song! Also, would love to get the details on that lead, reminds me of... like classic demoscene tracks, can't put my finger on the exact one I'm thinking of, but back in the .s3m / .mod days there was a tracker musician (Purple Motion maybe?) that used a very similar lead in a song. So good!
I had a listen to Purple Motion just now. I wasn't really aware of Jonne Valtonen but I can hear the similarites. I did play a lot of computer games back in the day but I was never on the Amiga team. Sinclair Spectrum -> Atari ST -> IBM PC background here. I guess this jam was influenced by growing up in the 80's :-) I'll create a video about this lead sound and share it, at some point. Thanks!
Kebu, all of you did an amazing job on this challenge. I play synth and guitar in our 80s hair band. I use a Roland JX3P and an Ensoniq ESQ1 and I doubt that I could have come close to doing what you guys did, at least not in 4 minutes. All are very well done.
Kebu, I liked your video too. It was very interesting to see your working progress. Both videos are amazing and inspiring! I hope you will come to Switzerland one day for a live perfomance. I would be in the audience, that's for sure!
Definitely my favourite of all the 4x4x4 challenges. The lead jam at the end really sets it apart from the rest. Well done! PS. As someone else requested, if you could export a midi file of the performance and post a link to it, it might end up teaching a lot more of us how to create an amazing song.
Haha! Yes, I still have some work to do to reach the level of your work, my friend! But, until I got my lights and cameras fixed that'll be the plan :-)
Normally I don't stop the sequencer this much, and I would have created more parts and used Group Play if I were not limited to 4 mins. But I really love the fact that I can sketch something out really fast with this monster.
Whahooo. I watch something like 20 videos of this Roland Fantom 4x4x4 challlenge, and for me you're definitively the best of the show. SO : 4x4x4 thumbs up. You deserve a lot more of like and suscribe. Love from France. Chris.
Thanks! I had a FA-07 before. For me the key to speedy recordings with that was using Loop mode and keeping the sequencer playing and go to "Rehersal mode" (pressing REC again if I remember correctly) while switching Part or Tone.
I'm late to the party, but figured I would just say this was a fantastic track you built in four minutes. Incredible to see a good musician put the Fantom through it's paces.
@@SunlightOfTheSpirit I am not saying he didn't practice before hand. It's just impressive he put that track together in that amount of time. Has nothing to do with him practicing it before hand or not lol

Back again, still sounds great compared to todays standards if not better than. I'm always a fan of great performances!!
Great work man..! you created a beautiful highway full of palms.

That synth jam at the end was awesome. Total amiga MOD vibes too
I listen to it every day, it's a great performance, please make the full version for regulars like me.

Awesome. I hear it again and again .....
Thanks for that kind message!
My favorite so far. I like Dr. Mix's version- but this, to me, feels so much more 80's. Nice jam at the end.
Thank you!
True! Reminds me of the good ol' Amiga-Times. Sound quite a bit like Chris Huelsbeck in some aspects :)
