You are WORTH IT. Success Story with Depression and Anxiety

  • So this is my success story with ending the suffering from anxiety and depression at two points in my life. (Microdosing Lexapro vs. Zoloft) I currently take 5 mg of Lexapro at 8am daily and feel normal now, at first my side effects were Yawning and tiredness But now I virtually have no side effects and feel great. I have very peaceful moments during the day but definitely still have to deal with life and go to work and do things so it's not a magical drug it just got me to a good baseline. 10 years ago I had to took low dose Zoloft, which worked, but took four weeks for it to work but it got me out of a bad state and I stopped taking it after two months but I would say it was a major success I don't remember having side symptoms other than fatigue and dry mouth at the beginning I know other people that are taking it that are having a lot of luck with it.
My hope is that my success story will at least help one person go see someone and find a path through medicine, diet or exercise that can get them out of their depressive or anxious state.
It is not normal to constantly have negative thoughts and ruminate all the time about things that are not absolutely critical in your life it is very exhausting and I look forward to a point that you or your loved one can get into a comfortable state that you were designed to be in and enjoy this world while you are still here.
You are worth it please believe in yourself and realize that there is another side. Mucj love and respect as you conquer this - love Ryan

It really is so true. For years I battled it walking, running, sports, holidays, meditation, breath work, yoga, cold showers, comedy, alcohol all whilst working pretending to the world I was enjoying my life. 4 weeks on Sertraline and I can feel it’s working. I can see peoples smiles that people are genuinely being friendly and not feeling like they feel sorry for me. I feel I can start to pick up a new Hobbie and enjoy it. I feel I can get a new job that isn’t so mundane as mine is. I’m sorry but it works and no amount of exercise will get you out of it.

Thank you for making this video. During the first wave of covid and being stuck at home for months on end, my battle with anxiety and depression became a losing one. I could no longer find joy in anything and I was an anxious mess every day. I have battled with mainly anxiety for the past 10 years (19 years old to currently 29). I started with Zoloft at 25mg. Personally I found the side effects to be quite bad. I felt nauseous, dizzy and just kind of "gross" for the first couple weeks. My doc told me to up it to 50mg a day. I did so, and after a 3-4 weeks I started to get past the nausea and dizzyness stuff for the most part - but it was drying me out SO badly. My mouth, my eyes, my entire body felt like a dry sponge. I already deal with dry eyes and I just simply could no longer take the side effects of it. I just recently have been experienced another bout of heavy anxiety day to day that is killing me. I was in the ER this morning for 6 hours because I was experiencing leg pain and weird symptoms which I believe to be from my Pfizer 1st shot 2 weeks ago that havent gone away. I was very worried I had a blood clot and I was literally shaking like a leaf with racing thoughts. They did all the tests needed and there is NO blood clot and I have nothing to worry about - except now im sitting here thinking I need to try round 2 of kicking this anxiety shit that rules my life to the curb. I am going to take a shot at lexapro as I have seen quite a couple succes stories with it, including your own!
Very happy I stumbled across your channel because I also love your niche of videos, right up my alley! AWESOME !

You acknowledge that there are side affects, but, saying to take the doses prescribed, to wait before throwing the towel in and giving a real life situation.
I appreciate your candid portrayal of your experience.
Despite you, not a MD, but, the human being who takes the medication, I'm grateful to hear your experience opposed to hearing a MD's "knowledge".
I'm happy you're doing well and keep your expectations coming our way!!!
    Ty 😎🌹

Thank you for talking about the baseline! I really appreciate this video. I started on zoloft 20 days ago. First week I felt like something was happening, then I felt indifferent about everything which was actually a huge welcome to me, to be so mellow about everything. I increased my dose after 7 days to 50 mg and bam....downhill. I see my doctor tomorrow and aiming for an increase as I have some hope but just believe I'm not on the right dose. I'm 47 and may send this video to my mother to see if it helps her understand my brain. :)

Thanks friend for making this video. You give me hope that I am on the rite path. I have been on 20 mg of Lexapro for 4 years. Taken religiously., but, against warning drinking alcohol too and just was depressed and anxious. I gave up alcohol a year ago and started living clean. Magically after a few months from stopping alcohol I now feel better than ever. I felt kinda guilty for feeling good thinking something bad is coming, but nope. I should feel good! You give me hope that my “found” happiness is Real. Good Luck My Man. Kickin glasses also. Jamie from NC

Thank you Jamie. Alcohol is a highly addictive daily battle but can be conquered. The key is one day at a time and replacing behaviors and watching triggers.

Going through major depression but starting treatment with meds. The first week is not going great but as you say, I've got to stick with it as it takes some time for them to start working. I've been watching every video I can on the side effects of Lexapro and the long-term results, and yours is by far the best I've watched. Your obvious passion for getting this message out and the encouragement to fight this insidious disease is affirming my desire to beat it. I've too many loved-ones to give in and give up. The consequences scare the hell out of me. Thanks

Thank you for this. I started therapy sessions recently and have ptsd and depression, anxiety. I also have a medication appointment with the doctor at the same place I'm going to therapy to. I have tried Buspar few months ago for anxiety before I went to therapy and it did nothing for me but made me incredibly restless and I could not sleep. The one who prescribed me it was just a nurse practitioner who just met me. But I used it for 4 weeks before stopping. Ever since then I put off therapy and seeking help until one problem or thought became another problem or thought and it's like a snowball. Finally I took the dive and signed up for therapy. I was so scared of it and it still scares me because I'm scared of the feelings. But I want to start low dose as possible with whatever medication the medication doctor wants me on after diagnosing me. I don't want to be extremely restless or lose sleep like I did on Buspar. I thank you for saying I am worth it and it is worth a shot to try it out. Because I guess I'll never know until I try it. I'm glad you're feeling better yourself.

This video really comforted me, I’ve been on lexapro for about a month now and I’ve been feeling great and it was weird to me when I first started feeling like this, but you reminded me that your supposed to feel great by default! And I was also a lil worried because I’ve seen a lot of people saying horrible things about how they became suicidal/etc on antidepressants, but you kinda reassured me that as long as I take the medication consistently, I’ll continue to be okay. I’m definitely saving this video to watch later when I feel like I need it, thank you so much and have a great day!!!

Things take time but eventually get better i was on Lexapro for a few months and while it took away my depression and anxiety, it also took away my emotions so i went down to 5mg from 10mg and it helped a little but while I was better, like sleeping and eating again, I still didn't feel like myself,I constantly felt spaced out,I had head discomfort and I was eating a whole lot more so my psychiatrist switched me to Buspar and it has worked well to,I still have the side effect of some head discomfort but the emotional blunting is subsiding ,my focus and memory has improved and I am feeling a ton better than when I first came down with D&A. Side effects aside and I know everyone is different on how they will react to these drugs but Lexapro did work well for me in getting me out of D&A. Btw this was one of the first videos I looked at when I was in this bad state and it gave me hope,so thank you for making this!.
