For a CVT that mimics shifting, this actually does a pretty good job! Definitely simulate “shifts” like a conventional automatic.

Hybrid I believe comes with a 6 speed conventional automatic, the regular gas *non N models* come with a CVT as the only option transmission if I’m not mistaken. N also comes with a 6 speed manual.

I'd rather have a Hyundai Elantra no joke. A 28k hybrid Elantra has better MPG, wireless android auto/carplay, heated and ventilated seats w/ memory, a non useless/dogshit bose stereo(accord has 4 speaker 100w.. WTF), power seats w/lumbar(accord is all manual), parking sensors, blind spot assistance, adaptive high beams, nice melange gray interior, better wheels, and superior transmission. The list goes on, I understand the accord IS a larger car, with almost 4" more rear legroom, same head room though, and 2.4 cubic feet more of boot space. But there comes a point when the sacrifice for a smaller car is better.
also the sonata limited is 30k if you do need the larger vehicle and definitely has a superior interior. If wondering, the accord hybrid sport(same engine as base accord) is 31k and doesn't add that much over the base model, and is lacking equipment no doubt.

I think they put in the simulated shift to not having it annoyingly loud at higher rpms. Also with those CVTs it's possible to down shift with the paddle shifters. Great for engine braking, a quick overtake or accelerating at an on-ramp on the Autobahn for example.
