I hope mine turns out half as nice as yours! I usually bead-bezel my Cabs, but I purchased a beautiful high-quality Rhodonite teardrop that's just too thick for for beading - but this technique would be perfect for it! I will try to remember to come back & let you know how it goes..I really don't mind if have to do it several times, as practise makes perfect.. I HOPE! Thank you for sharing your talents with us ❤💐
Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your talent and skill with us. I appreciate your work so much and I can’t wait to try this with one of my crystals ☺️
I love the look. But I wonder if you can macrame soft silver wire? I usually dislike videos with music but, I loved this one. But, I did have to rewind the video every minute or two because my eyes would just close without me realizing it. Thank you.
I just looked again on amazon, none of them look this like even though they say lightly waxed cotton cord, can you pleaseeee tell me which brand this is so i can order this exact kind, i don't like all the others ive tried. thank you so much
Reece A. Same! Mine is far too skinny. It bunches and loosens as I go. I want it to hold the form better. It’s gotta be because the string isn’t firm enough.
You can buy beeswax yourself. It comes in little solid blocks. Just drag the cord through the wax a few times until it is the desired firmness/amount you feel comfortable with. I usually do it twice. You don't want a ton because you still want your cord to slide a bit. This helps the cord "stick" to itself a bit which should help with the issue you're having with it becoming loose at the end when you're wrapping it around the stone. The best type of cord to use is what's called s-lon or c-lon. It's a nylon based cord (that's why when they use the lighter it melts a bit to help keep things in place. The difference between the s and c is the thickness of the cord. One is thicker than the other, and depending on the project it's entirely up to you which size to use. I would suggest using the thicker type when 1st starting out as you'll have to make less knots and the project will go faster becuae it's less fidgety. The project in this video uses the thicker type. There is also a nylon cord called "tex" which is the thickest of the micro macrame nylon cord. All can be found on Amazon. :)
@@sinneryetsaintly thank you soo much! I had given up on macrame a long time ago. I make crystal jewelry with baked polymer clay but im about to go/live on the road full time and will no longer have an oven lol so can't make that kind of jewelry anymore. Think i will try my hand at this again since i can do this on the road and hopefully sell some jewelry so i can eat. :)
Thanks for the tutorial but for real beginner's it's a pity you don't show your fingers like in the beginning, for me I can't guess how to tie the threads the right way!
The cord you wrapped around the nails, is it seperate from the 2 60cm cords you used for design? This is difficult to follow. I'd much prefer to have you explaining steps and directions than listen to music.
so not including when you add more cord to make the bail, how many separate pieces are you working with? 4? I've tried twice with thin linen cord, then again with hemp cord, and i failed miserably. the macramed part was too long for one, and not wide enough for the stone not to fall out, how do you know all the measurements? i went to 4 stores, no one has waxed cotton cord, where do i buy it fron and do you have a more detailed video with measurements i can watch?, super frustrated, thank you.
Hello! I've trying to learn this and always fail in the end when it's time to wrap around the stone, I use waxed twisted cord and no matter how tight I tie the knot it always end up loose especially when I start to work around the stone becames more and more loose 😢 do you have any tips ou suggestions? I will appreciate so much ❤️🙏
It's been a long time since you commented this, but in case you're still interested: try to leave more space between the initial two ropes so more of the stone is covered when you wrap it. Then don't make the wrap too long and wrap it around tight. This way can't go anywhere because it is actually locked in the wrap. Hope this made any sense🙈
This video is great!! Very easy to follow along to learn technique. Thank you so much for sharing. Your work is amazing ❤️... Beautiful !!! I'd love to know where I can purchase the same type and quality of your stones.
Hi! I am trying to make a wooden stand like you have, except mine is made from a tree branch. Do you have any tips for height for the 2 sides? And wat is the recommended width between the nails? Nowhere on the internet I can find a picture or anything.. Greetings and thank you for the videos 🌻
Tristan Hendrick I actually recorded each step with my voice on the note pad so that I could make sense of what was going on and then follow my own directions. But then it was smooth sailing! Definitely need thicker cord though. Mine was too skinny to hold the pattern.

Yeah thats what I'm scrolling thru the comments to try and find an answer, it's all very confusing
May I ask which song this is?
what’s the music playing in the background?

Yes, you can use cotton waxed for wrapping.

This is impossible to follow. Use better camera angles and explain the knots you're using
