Marcus Aurelius once said "Accept the things to which fate binds you". Letting go and simply going with the flow, life changing . Spirituality and stoicism have played a significant role in who I have become. For what it's worth, as one human being to another, I'm overjoyed at your progress. There is life in your eyes and smile now. Keep on keeping on Kirsten.

I've watched a few of your videos since stumbling onto your channel and your journey has really resonated with me and my pursuit of photography and learning about who I am. It's awesome to see that another person is healing and doing pursuing similar goals - it's also simultaneously comforting and inspiring to see your story and all of the comments below it from others and to know we aren't alone, and it's really easy to feel alone when you get stuck in a depressive episode inside your own head. I recently turned 30 and it feels like the last 2-3 years have been an entire lifetime on their own. Thanks for sharing and thanks for being you!

You are a very talented photographer and writer! I see you as caught up in "societal " pressure that tells us who we should be and what success looks like. I am very glad you have come to these realizations on your own. You seem to take your existence very seriously no wonder you are struggling with depression and anxiety like so many of us living in this rat race capitalistic society. Love yourself for just being you. ❤

Hi Kirsten, I am deeply touched by your video. While watching I was close to tearing at one point. Very much like you, two years ago I was just starting to slowly climb out of the worst abyss that I have ever been in in my whole life. I too have been contending with depression, anxiety, and the endless list of associated problems on a daily basis, and for over a decade. I am incredibly happy that you have fought hard to arrive at a better place now, and are continuing your quest of growth. I resonate sincerely with the wisdom you shared; in fact, I came to some of it through my own experience too. All the best in your journey! God bless you! ✌

I gotta say: there is something very unique about you. Can't put my finger on it. But i have now found myself watching 8 of your videos and honestly can't figure out why. Ofcourse I can relate having the debilitating core belief " I am what i accomplish " that i have to challange regurlarly, and have read 4 of Brene Brown's books which I believe you'll truly enjoy if you haven't yet read them. But maybe it's because you are truly " Braving the Wilderness" as Brene writes in her book. The courage to be Vulnerable, and the strength to keep moving forward. To be Human is to be in process. And it looks like you are embracing the process. Congrats! 👏 Keep loving yourself!

Autumn in that setting will be breathtaking. Believe me, there would be millions of people who would love to be in your shoes in that location. A screenshot quote on my phone which I always go back to: “sometimes you need to be alone. Not to be lonely, but to enjoy your free time being yourself”. Me & my dog watching the sunset over N.Yorkshire is pure bliss. She loves the rain, too! Most people generally, exhaust me these days and I guess they have for a long time, but now I recognise that all I need reet now is mi dog and my meditation.
Maybe a rescue dog as a companion for you? My pal puts her head on my knee when she knows I’m not 100%. She bounces around like tigger when Im 100% and being who I’m supposed to be!

I would love to return in autumn, it would be stunning! I'm grateful to be nearby. A dog would be lovely, though one doesn't fit into my life currently, maybe one day! I'm so glad you have a furry friend who you love. Wish you the best ❤❤❤

@@KirstenQuist Thank you, Kirsten. [my adhd brain going again here]….I saw a Ted talk once about how the brain takes in stuff & saves it and separates important bits to recall minutes/hours/days or weeks later. Anyway, in that last piece I watched. You mentioned something about seeing /going to consult your spiritual guidance/tutor? Then said “some of you might think it silly” or something. It is very unlikely most of your viewers would think it silly. Just being yourself (comes from the soul IMO) is all that matters. Just go with the ups and downs (and I know the downs suck). It’s just part of your journey. The earthing/grounding movie on YT is very much worth watching. Quite mind blowing really.
I’m sorry if I offend anyone here; I’m just at the latter stage’s of my divorce from my wife because she doesn’t get (and took the p*** at times) over my strong inner urges to be away from the city and my connection with nature. She called me crazy when I thought that I was going f***ing mad because I kept seeing *11.11 and **13.13 everywhere. I mean everywhere. Now I realise beauty is skin deep as she has joined the ‘Daffey Duck brigade’ with them massive blotocs lips. I’m sure it looks fine on some but there are millions of ‘em with it. Is that what normal is? I’m not going to tell her it looks hideous because I still care about her and always will. If that’s her serenity and the other Daffey Ducks then let them craic on. It’s one of my own flaws (judging other people) I am working on, and I’m doing it here. To be fully free (spiritually free) I know that has to be fully fixed but I’m almost there.
      *Using the Greek Pythagorean table:
My full name number adds up to master number 11
My life path number adds up to master number 11
**13 played a huge part leading up to the divorce. (Iucky in some cultures)
It all makes sense now and I wasn’t going mad after all.

You are such a strong soul, and so honest. I’m glad to hear you are healing. If you haven’t, I’d think about coming to Christ. He knows our hardships and our tears, and he will make blessing flow from them. He loves you infinitely now, before the beginning of the universe, and for the rest of time. His light and love shines so much brighter than anything this world offers. He alone is the way, truth, and the life, and I think you will enjoy receiving the Lord in your life! Have a good rest of your life! And thanks for touching so many souls

I'm not sure how I feel about the idea of humans having inherent value. It seems like self-bias and a cope. Do all humans have the same amount of inherent value, or are some more inherently valuable than others? What about rocks and grains of sand, do they have inherent value, is it less than humans or equal? If everything's equal then it just cancels out to 0 anyway. Instead I'd rather admit to myself that everything I do is ultimately worthless and meaningless, and when I die one day it will all be gone and forgotten anyway. But I can still enjoy the beauty and the journey while I'm here.

    • @Ariapeithes_
      @Ariapeithes_ ปีที่แล้ว

This sounds very Nihilistic. Every human being is valuable...
Human beings are fearfully and wonderfully made the Creator says.

    • @KirstenQuist
      @KirstenQuist  ปีที่แล้ว +2

I think you, and every human has inherent value that is equal. And it is of infinitely greater value than any rock or grain of sand. We might have less economic value, if for instance, we become paralyzed and can't work, but we retain the same inherent or intrinsic value no matter what. But that's just my opinion. 🙂 Wish you the best on your journey ❤

Life being a failure is the reality of 9 out of 10 people on Earth and it means nothing. Life will begin and most of the time, most of the time will be a waste of it. We can indulge ourselves with small pleasure and so on....but failing in life is a condition of life itself and not the end of the world.

Thanks for sharing your life experiences with us in such an amazing cinematography. 🙂 You are perfect as you are
The thing with our society is that it never accepts someone as they are, instead they want everyone to be Elon Musk, Zuckerberg, Tate , etc etc( hashtag the people that society easily accepts and love)
you know this alpha mentality going around the internet (the blind race)
But they don't know that there will always be people like Van Gogh, John Keats etc, who will always be misunderstood and rejected by our society a.k.a The Mob.
There is nothing like Perfect, those who appear to be perfect are just those people who fulfills the eligibility criteria of being a good slave of society.

It's true, our society has quite a narrow view of those who are successful. There's so much more to it though!
Thank you for the support ❤️

    _Matthew 6:24-35_
_25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?_
_26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?_
_27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?_
_28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:_
_29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these._
_30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?_
_31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?_
_32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things._
_33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you._
_34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof._
Christ taught we should be content with our current circumstances, and to realize that GOD is ultimately in control of everything that happens in the world, and that as long as you are seeking first the KINGDOM OF GOD and HIS righteousness, your needs will be taken care of and anxiety will cease from your life.

An apple tree needs many years to finally bear fruits. Would you call it a failure after you just planted it from a seed? Probably not. All things need time to grow and there might be some storms that could throw you around. But in the end, if you believe in yourself and keep going forward, you might become a sturdy, old tree in the end. And that's what counts. Because trees never stop to grow, they never give up and will someday become old, beautiful giants.
