    All of you ladies in your 20s & 30s need to rejoice in your youth. When you get into your 50s you look back at pictures of yourself in your 20s and 30s and can't believe how good you looked. So just be happy with yourselves and appreciate what you have while you have it! And yes Retin A helps a lot!

      I went massively downhill after 50. I am invisible in life- which is a good thing. I avoid mirrors and accept the ugliness that comes with aging. Plastic surgery can't really fix 50 year old women either. Save your money.

    Been using prescription retinol, tretinoin since it first available 1980’s I am now in my 60’s. Every time I see my Dermatologist and she has a student she always points out how you can tell when someone has been using the product for some time. That’s the high cheek and some of the eye area and of course the forehead. Don’t give up ladies and stop buying products that are expensive just because of the brand, your better off with the real deal it lasts a long time so the price is justified

    My Cousin Chris has a identical twin brother named Jeff. Chris, has always taken care of his skin and faithfully uses Tretinoin on his face, neck and chest and has since he was in his late 20's but his brother Jeff is the complete opposite and just uses whatever or sometimes just nothing at all.
    They are both now 48yrs and when I saw them standing side by side I was completely blown away! Even in the pictures we took, you could clearly see which brother took care of their skin. It looked as if Chris was standing next to his "older" brother and not his own twin!...

    Your skin looks great after nine months. It takes time for skin to purge itself. I had cystic acne and no RetinA in those days. No Accutane either. Thank goodness we DID have dermatologists though! That Dr saved my life! I would have had miserable skin otherwise. And now, at 68 we do have those other things and I use them! Don't age "gracefully!" Fight it every step of the way! No sense looking older than you have to!! Take care of your body! You've only got one body and this is it! Be grateful for what you have and take GOOD care of it. Take vitamins, exercise, keep your weight under control, pay attention to things your body tells you, dress yourself in clean clothes, keep your nails trimmed and clean, brush your teeth & hair, & MAKE YOUR BED EVERY MORNING! Sounds crazy, I know, but it's the most important thing you'll do all day. Then say your prayers and get going!🤗💖🥰

    MORNING:
    Cleanse with a Micella water.
    Apply my Vitamin C Serum.
    Hyaluronic Acid.
    Apply my black rice eyecream.
    Moisturiser.
    Rosehip oil.
    Sun cream broad spectrum plus blue light protection factor 50.
    NIGHT:

    Early twenties, my face would always have acnes. Around mid 20s, I started using retinoin until today (late twenties)
    Since then, I never had acne or pimples for more than two at the same time. Pre-retinoin, i always wake up having big pimples. Like everyday new pimple/s would pop up.
    Now I’ve only got one or two pimples in the past one year. And now, I only have one pimple since pandemic started. Start retinoin now, you wont regret it. I promise.

      Hey Em! Thank you so much! So, it is true that light deactivates tretinoin - but mostly in terms of daylight. The light you are getting from the lights in your house and on your phone should be okay. An hour after I put it on, I use Josie Maran argan oil on top of it for my under eye area. I just buy the travel size bc all it takes is 1 drop for both under eyes. Otherwise it can have too much of a drying effect under your eyes. And also tretinoin travels, so as long as you can get it near an area you want to correct, it should help to some extent :)

Maybe as we age we stop scrutinising things on a microscopic level and focus more on the obvious issues? • @jennarubis1
      @jennarubis1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Ann! I would imagine tretinoin could certainly help your cause. If you reside in the US, it is prescription. You do not need to schedule with a derm specifically though - you can get it through your general practitioner or whoever your regular physician is :) A more immediate result, but more expensive, would be considering a laser treatment. Specially a CO2 laser. If you go this route, you would do the laser prior to starting your tretinoin treatment :) You would likely wait 8 weeks post laser treatment before starting tretinoin.

      So I think the puffy redness was probably just some irritation from the tretinoin? In general my eyelids can sometimes be a little red. It’s not dermatitis, but I know dermatitis on the eyelids is very common. I had dermatitis during my first pregnancy (under my nose and around my mouth) and it seemed to flare up very easily. Make sure you are only using products for sensitive skin, and I would definitely avoid that area with the tretinoin.

    What were your reasons on using Retin A and the Foreo ? Acne? Or aging? I have been at a standstill with my skincare routine for a few days. I had been using Exuviance, and my skin is so smooth from it, face is not completely dehydrated, a bit moisturized, but I could stand for it to be a little more. But honestly that is about the only thing that is noticeable. Here and there, I wanna say I can see results on my fine lines. Yesterday I realized that there are not ANY reviews lately on Exuviance. Reviews are from a year ago and three years ago. So I thought I might try Clarins double serum. But I can not imagine something with only natural ingredients making that much of an impact. Then I see your video. And I am interested in what it is for and what it is. The little tool thingy makes me think this could be a game changer. I dunno. I don’t know what a purge is. Lol. Guess I need to get researchin’ 🥸🥸

      Hey Mandy! So I started tretinoin for hormonal acne that would pop up on my chin area, jaw line and occasionally on my cheeks in addition to skin rejuvenation from my years of sun damage and also preventative aging :) The Foreo Luna Mini 3 is a total game changer and I can’t imagine cleansing without it. It sluffs off all my dead skin but in a very gentle way and removes dirt, sweat and makeup like nothing else! Also, “purge” is a term that refers to the temporary worsening of skin (usually in the form of acne and/or peeling) when you introduce something into your skincare routine that turns your skin over at a faster rate (eg retinoids).

    YES! I used to have hormonal acne on my jawline CONSTANTLY, and now I've been using retinol for a few months and I haven't had jawline acne in a couple months!

      Yes, it will. I've been using it for about a year now and the results have been slow, but pronounced.

    her starting point for tretinoin treatment is where I hope I can end on it. Her worst purging is better than mine before starting. Must be nice. Hoping for the best, i'm on week 2 on 0.25%.

    Thank you so much for such a detailed video/update. I just started tretinoin today at the lowest dose. I’m 30 and usually don’t have an issue w acne other than blackheads on my nose. These past couple months my skin has been angry and I have the most random breakouts so I’m dermatologist suggested I try this. How do you go about increasing the dosage and the reasoning behind it? Is that something I should look into as well after a certain period of time?

    Your skin looks amazing! I noticed your eyelids looked younger as well, did you put it on them? Also your skin looked dewy, was that bc you used the cream version instead of the gel? I was told it drys the skin out so we should avoid the eye area. You should do a video of how much you used, how often and if you added anything like certain soaps and moisturizers. Thank you!

    How did your eye circles improve ? Not from tretinoin
    Was the before pick from lack of sleep ?

    • @jennarubis1
      @jennarubis1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a good question. The tretinoin would not improve my circles. I usually have them, but sometimes I’m lucky and they look better than other times. Usually alcohol or salty food makes them look worse.

    Hi Jenna. Did you get more sun/dark spots pop up before them fading? I started using Tretinoin and see a few more dark(beige) spots than what I started out with. I heard this does happen sometimes since Tretinoin is bringing up sun damage from below the skin to the surface. Is this true? I'm just looking for affirmation the spots will disappear over time. I wear 50SPF+ sunscreen every single day. I've been using Tretinoin 0.025% cream 1x/week for 1 month now. My skin is sensitive so I have to go slow.
