    Thanks! My experience is that I’ve used 0.025 Tretinoin for over a year. I can tolerate 3 nights per week. But even then have an overall redness, so I started doing short contact 3x per week to see if I can built to more nights. I’m basically always scheming to get more Tret on my face! Its worth it because (after months of the Tretinoin uglies) I now have a nice healthy glow and my acne is managed.
    Thanks again, love all your videos!

    I’m doing .1% and it’s been almost a week and I use it every night and have not experienced any flaking or peeling. Is it working? I put it in dry clean skin and then after it absorbs I put castor oil on my face. I always use oils because lotions don’t work for me. Any answers, please.

    Hi Abby, wondering about diminishing returns with Tretinoin. Is every night use "considerably" more effective than every other night long-term?

    • @doctor-abby
      @doctor-abby  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      For many every other night is enough to see great results. The more you use the better results but you have to balance with side effects including irritation, dryness and peeling

    I used tretinoin 0.5% for 3 years in a row, but due to some life situations, I stopped most of my skin care routine, including tretinoin.
    now things are more stable now in my life and I want to get back to using it again but I'm alittle bit worried about how should I start using it again? should l just continue using everyday again or should I start it slowly as it's the first time?
    and thanks so much for the videos it's really amaizing❤

    Hey Dr. Abby, can I combine castor oil with my moisturizer? My doctor advised me to use tret 0,05 every night (I guess she shouldn't have) because I started peeling alot and my skin got red. I am trying to fix my skin barrier but at the same time I don't want to stretch out my tret healing process too much. Can I apply it every other night or just twice a week for the start?

    • @doctor-abby
      @doctor-abby  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes you can apply the tretinoin every 2-3 nights and you can certainly use castor oil. What I find helps the most for skin barrier repair is a zinc based barrier cream like a diaper cream (the Honest company) or laroche posay cicaplast Baum

    How long should I wait to add moisturizer after applying tretinoin?? Please help I’m always afraid that when I apply my moisturizer it just wipes it off. Also how do I avoid sun exposure, I live in Phoniex Az and it’s really hard to try to avoid it. I wear sunscreen and apply it in the morning, but that’s it how often should I be reappy? Also if I wear makeup will that protect my skin? Or should I just totally lay off the make up and stick to sunscreen? Pleas help I would really appreciate it:)

    • @doctor-abby
      @doctor-abby  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Let tretinoin absorb for about a minute then follow with moisturizer. Wearing a wide brimmed hat and UPF clothes and trying to stay out of the sun mid day is best. Sunscreen should be reapplied every 2 hours if you’re going to be out for more than 20-30 minutes. Makeup doesn’t provide a ton of protection for sun but it offers some

    Having combination skin.
    Having little uneventone skin colour although it's clear skin no issues except tanning on face especially on forehead.
    Sometimes it looks dull.
    What should I do?
    Should I go for RETINOL serum or Tretinoin cream?
    Or any other acid serum?
    Thank you.

      Good start is vitamin c serum, moisturizer and sunscreen. Once you get used to that, could add aha/bha a few nights a week and if tolerating that- then would add retinol 3-5 nights a week

    Dear Dr abby! I have tiny bumps in my neck and been to 2 different board certified dermatologists in the hospital. They can’t figure out what it is. After trying a few creams without success they have have now prescribed me tretinoin.. (that’s how I ended up here). They think it could be KP - but on my neck. (But still not sure) As expected my skin got really sensitive from the different creams so thank you for these tips.. Do you think tretinoin could help with keratosis bumbs?

    • @doctor-abby
      @doctor-abby  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Tretinoin can help with KP but give it some time. Consider a zinc oxide paste to help with symptoms as well if irritated from the tretinoin

    Hi doc i wanted to ask ever since i had shingles on my left side of the face im left with scars....and have scars from this i was advised to use MelB 3serum and melaB3 gel micro peeling and tretinoin 0.05 cream.... what would you advise watching from south africa

    • @doctor-abby
      @doctor-abby  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think that all sounds like a reasonable plan. The biggest thing (especially in South Africa where the sun is strong) is to avoid sun and use excellent sun protection. Even a little sun on the scars will make them hyperpigment

    hello just wondering is it normal to see two new pigmentation spots a week after starting the cream? and do you use the tranexamic and azaelic acid at the same time or in the morning?

    • @doctor-abby
      @doctor-abby  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It may be that they’re just irritated and more pronounced but I would definitely avoid sun to avoid pigmented spots. Yes can use azelaic acid and tranexamic acid same time but would make sure your skin is acclimated to the tretinoin alone first
