Note: the claim on the Gold Coast being the fifth largest city in Australia draws on the latest Queensland Government reports about Gold Coast data (see www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/Council-region/About-our-city/Gold-Coast-economy) - however, some people have been contesting the QLD government's claims, stating that the Gold Coast is the sixth (and not 5th) largest city in Australia (a fact that I did come across while doing my research). But I proceeded to use this government report as I deem government resources the most reliable sources for conveying this type of information (I try to stay away from unofficial sources, or outdated reports). Having said that, if the report proves to be wrong, I apologise in advance for this. 🎬 MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS - Is it Worth Moving to Brisbane in 2023? - th-cam.com/video/2Pz2Nirss3U/w-d-xo.html - What is it like to live in Melbourne - th-cam.com/video/IyR0A2zcx4g/w-d-xo.html - Australian Higher Education System - th-cam.com/video/v1s4ab38PZI/w-d-xo.html - 12 Job ideas for migrants - th-cam.com/video/cA6D6VV0TGE/w-d-xo.html - Study in Australia Everything to Know - th-cam.com/video/v1s4ab38PZI/w-d-xo.html - TOP TIPS for Living Cheap in Australia - th-cam.com/video/ccGmD-jbiMo/w-d-xo.html - How to Rent a House in Australia - th-cam.com/video/EbSOxeNcRKs/w-d-xo.html If you'd like me to make more videos like this one on living and working in different Australian cities or any other ideas, let me know :)

Is this a video about the Gold Coast, or Surfers Paradise-Broadbeach? Because the Gold Coast stretches over a large area, it’s not just the ‘well connected’ beach side neighbourhoods. You have to catch 2 buses and take an hour, just to get from mermaid waters to Robina Shopping Centre which is a 15 minute drive on a bad day. Or ask about the wonderful connectivity from Nerang to Burleigh Heads. Just getting from Pacific Fair shopping Centre to Chevron Island is crap. Yes, the very outdated slow tram takes you from Pacific Fair to Surfers Paradise, but then you have to walk 20 minutes in the hot sun to chevron island. This video is only good or helpful if you live Surfers-Broadbeach areas, or areas based on the GC Highway.
I've lived on the Gold Coast for the majority of my 44 years of life - I adore that we have TWO dog friendly beaches and they're not small .. they're quite large. Not to mention the plethora of fenced dog parks and EVERYWHERE you'll find FREE dog poop bags - I'm always amazed at people actually spending money on dog poop bags because I have never spent a cent as they're freely and readily available. Also in re: Schoolies - it has blown out to more than a week as the cross overs from other states means it starts at different times hence it's more closer to 3-4 weeks in duration which basically means to avoid Surfers for end of November and December. I used to live in Surfers Paradise, avoid it at all costs. Gratefully, Schoolies is now starting to go elsewhere or stick to their own states.
I am a Brisbane/Gold Coast local and have lived and worked in both cities. The glory days of the Gold Coast are well and truly over. If you were there in the early to late 80 s to mid 90 s it was a paradise. Now it's too expensive, it's overdeveloped, traffic is atrocious. Crime and drugs. The entire Brisbane-Gold Coast urban corridor has become a shithole. Just drive though Logan now you will see. Brisbane itself is better for living than GC nowadays, especially some southside suburbs, unless you have to drive across Brisbane, eg Mt Gravatt to Strathpine for instance, very bad traffic.
I totally agree. It is full of fake people, there are ugly homes, suburbian streets where all look the same, what a hopeless olace todrive such a nuisance city, humid, ugly
@@toniau613 I used to go to Sydney and Melbourne a lot. Nowadays I see no difference between Brisbane/Gold Coast and Sydney. They are both ( mostly ) just big ugly urban sprawls. I don't feel any different when I m in Sydney or Brisbane. Only difference in Sydney is that there are more people from Asia and the Middle East. Which does not bother me, I lived in three Asian countries before.
@@saharagold try driving from Oxenford or Paradise Point to Coolangatta at 8 am in the morning or 4 pm in the afternoon. See how long it takes and notice the volume of traffic. As for Brisbane to Gold Coast or vice versa, you have to plan carefully when to go if you do business between the two cities. I know guys in transport and construction who won't deliver materials to Brisbane or Gold Coast after 2 pm. They can't guarantee on time delivery.
I love the Gold Coast, lived there since 2018 to 2022 and moved to the Whitsundays last month. We have seen a massive "post-Covid" change that is not mentioned in this video. Shortage for accommodation, rental's price skyrocketing this last year, non-affordability for many people... etc etc.
I've lived on the goldcoast for 56yrs. It was paradise. It was getting busy in the 5yrs leading up to covid.. but the post covid influx of people from Sydney and Melbourne ( and I don't blame them for moving here.. I would too ) has ruined it. Ridiculous traffic and aggressive entitled drivers.. locals and their children priced out of living in their own home city. Even the waterways are crowded. Feels like I'm living in a northern suburb of sydney these days. Sad.
Desember 2022 saya mengunjungi Gold Coast selama 4 hari, rasanya benar benar belum cukup, tapi saya harus meneruskan perjslanan ke Sydney sesuai jadwal. Belum bisa move on sampai sekarang. Visa Australia masih berlaku hingga 2025. Saya sedang merencanakan untuk kembali mengunjungi Gold Coast tahun depan untuk waktu yang sedikit lebih lama.semoga tercapai keinginan saya
Gold Coast is very busy of people, no car parking, full of people everywhere. If you looking for traffic car, Busy shopping centre and fast food, that’s your next place.
I would give the Gold Coast a big miss. Very expensive property if you want to be anywhere near the beach. Cheaper houses west of the M1 but you may not want to live there. The Gold Coast has experienced an unprecedented increase in population during and after Covid. The Glitter Strip is a sea of cranes and high-rises being built continuously. This holds up traffic even more. A tram system is being built to the airport at an incredible expense. This will cause even more traffic chaos, taking four lanes of the Gold Coast highway down to two. Only the people living a few kilometres east and west of the tram will realise the benefit of it… and the people living between Brisbane and the Gold Coast who come down to the beaches on the weekend. Tallebudgera Creek is now like Bondi Beach on the weekend. If you’re not there by 9 o’clock in the morning you will not get a park. We have lived here for almost 20 years and are thinking of moving somewhere else. I came to the Gold Coast to visit my grandparents often in the 60s and 70s. The current Gold Coast is a very different place.
It is not worth moving to the Gold Coast. People say it has no soul and can be unfriendly. It is very hot in summer. Crime is through the roof. The QLD government is soft on crime. The cost of living is higher than in other states of Australia because of its holiday destination. The locals pay more for everything to cover for the tourists. There are no real jobs, only hospitality. The rent is very expensive. To buy a property is very expensive. It is also overcrowded and takes you ages to get from one place to another re the traffic jams.
Yes Gc has most racist Irish immigrants (inferior white) who came to this country on a convict visa. More Irish ancestry in your city means more crime and racism.
I moved from Sydney to the Gold Coast 7 years ago and have been enjoying the lifestyle even since! If you live in Central Gold Coast then there is barely any traffic! The traffic is mainly on M1 southbound. In the Gold Coast people are actually more friendly than the zombies living in Sydney! And lots of gated community clusters in the Gold Coast which are safer, unlike in Sydney.
I was born on the gold coast and this pretty much nails it Unless you have family here there’s less populated places northern nsw and north beyond the sunshine coast it’s definitely worth a look the GC long ago lost it golden glow way too many people have moved here. Big city people have bought their individual interests they don’t have time for a wave or hello it drains the vibe of what it once was.
My partner and I are very keen on moving to the Gold Coast in 2024. I just graduated from my nursing degree in New Zealand so I am hoping the nurses are taken care of a lot better over there vs New Zealand. 😊
I've lived here for 4yrs and yes it's a beautiful place, great weather with really friendly people! One thing is that if you have to travel north to work, be aware the M1 is a nightmare to drive with so much blockage in the afternoons! I have 20+ yrs driving experience & the M1 is imo the MADMAX highway100% goodluck!!
Often the biggest boom of crime/drug use at the Gold Coast is during the Australian summer holidays when there’s a huge boom of university/TAFE students who will travel to the Gold Coast for the summer holidays! It’s pretty much Australia’s equivalent to the spring break student tourist boom that happens each year in Hawaii and Miami in the USA! :)
Gold Coast born and bred. Owned a unit at Main Beach, walk out the gate onto the beach... hated it. Summer sucks, so humid and frigid cold in Winter due to high rises. I inherited it from my father, sold it two years later. TVs, fridges, PCs, microwaves die from the salt air, everything rusts and your furniture always feels wet. One benefit we had was walking on the beach during Covid with my dogs and there was NO-ONE else on the beach.. I now live North at Ormeau and prefer that. the GC is not a land of milk and honey, you must have a job to come to. Rentals are at 0.6% availability.... research before coming here.
I will have to disagree as someone who has had to rely upon public transport throughout her life at various points - if you're not near a tram station you're SOL and the public transport options are horrendous. The bus system has always been really bad if you're not either along the highway or in a main hub (like Southport, Surfers, etc). Seriously, you're best to invest in an electric bicycle or bicycle to get around and even then the bicycle system has a lot of issues outside certain areas (where there's no bicycle lanes or if you're forced to be on footpaths the footpaths are really bad). I would only recommend living on the Gold Coast, sadly, if you can afford to have a car. The public transport system ONLY works for those who are either 'along the highway' or near a tram spot. Outside of that, you'll need a car. We have to remember the Gold Coast extends from Beenleigh all the way to the border and out to places like Springbrook. Try getting to Springbook without a car - yeh. You can't.
The only thing I like about GC is it's flat unlike Brissy. However when I lived in Bardon and Toowong I did like the views up high. Just not walking or riding up them ...
I grew up on the goldy and left 12 years ago. And I’m glad I did. It’s not what it used to be. Each time I visit now I realise that it’s tacky, dirty, overcrowded and overpriced. If you’re after a beachside paradise, there are many other quieter seaside towns. Let’s be realistic, you don’t want to live on the Gold Coast if you’re not right on the beach because the rest (and majority) of the city is pretty ugly.
can u recommend me some more quieter places? I have the same impression as you mentioned here, the beaches are attractive but its too many flipflop people with beer bellies lol
Iv been here 20 years. Not once did you mention the transport industry, we drive the trucks that supply everything you talked about. It's expensive. But surfers paradise is putrid now days.
I've lived on the Gold Coast for my entire 50 years. If it wasn't for family & my connection to the place there is NO WAY I would ever move here in a blue fit!! Its Sydney / Melbourne / Auckland by the sea now, truly a paradise lost....sad, really sad...
The Gold Coast is a amazing place, unfortunately ruined by over-population since the 1990's, not just from people moving there but from the exponentially increased influx from Brisbane and Northern NSW on the weekends/holidays-making it near on impossible to access the beach and other attractions. Sadly since around 2010, migration on the Gold Coast and in SE QLD has been seriously miss-managed, culminating in the Covid madness excess numbers creating a housing crisis and completely ludicrous pricing for rental and purchase of property which is completely miss-aligned with the economic, work and salary opportunity the region offers due to the fact that interstate buyers have reaped the benefits of selling high in completely different markets, which unfortunately will bite them badly once the capital gains are spent. With the impending market crash, the Gold Coast property market will face significant losses probably leading to an exodus of recent migrants back to the larger cities as has happened in the past. Hopefully finding a well overdue equilibrium and allowing for the tourism the city greatly needs to be as attractive as it once was.
The Gold Coast is so much more than the clips you showed of surfers paradise & high rises. Forgot the hinterland close by, the quieter southern end & parks & playgrounds etc Locals don't even go to surfers paradise
I’ve lived all up the east coast of Australia and I think the Gold Coast is the place to be! Rent is going apeshit but so is everywhere else half decent
I am an English woman who has been living on Gold Coast for one year. I am sorry to say that the people here are among the unfriendliest I have ever met, to the point of outright discrimination and rudeness when they hear a foreign accent. It may be OK for international students as they study together and multiculturalism is the norm in educational institutions. But for a lone, professional working adult, I have been shocked at how backward the people here are. I would like to highlight my experience, as your video does kind of make it sound as though it is a multicultural haven. Although the stats may prove this, in reality the locals here can be downright mean to foreigners. I have heard a lot in UK and when I lived in Melbourne about how friendly and chilled people are here. That's a very big lie. Don't let that misconception be part of a reason to choose to come here. If you have a good support network of family and friends, that's fine but if you emigrated like us not knowing anyone, you will be isolated and I assure you no-one makes an effort. It's more like resentment. Probably because the locals think you are taking their homes. The Gold Coasters famously detested the Melbournians after Covid for coming up and taking homes. We have experienced a huge issue with this territorial backward detest of 'outsiders.' As for the beaches, yes they are beautiful, but you have a very small chance of living on the beach with the beach lifestyle. I live 45 minutes drive away from a beach and pay $650 (very recent rent increase) a week for a 3 bed no pool, dogs barking all night. My life consists of an endless drive down the M1 stuck in traffic and looking at hideous roadworks (1 year on and still no progress, what exactly are they working on). Landlords no longer offer periodic tenancies so you are stuck for 6 or 12 month leases, which is a real headache when you want to move. There are nice shopping centres in Coomera and Robina. The HOTA is a great place to visit but other than that zero culture to be found on this Coast. I would not recommend you consider living here unless you have a very considerable income to live near the beaches. Although, even then the most expensive properties are all on top of each other. If you like quiet and privacy I don't think it's possible. If you have an average income (I earn $110,000 a year) be prepared to live a good drive from the beach and look forward to the M1 and shopping. That's pretty much all there is to do here. Hope my comment helps someone and thanks for the video. I think it's very factual and informative but does make it sound like it's quite easy to move here. It's actually very difficult times here and you don't want to jump into it. Wish someone had warned me what it was like before I moved my life here.
You could take up surfing 🏄♂ and boogie boarding to enjoy the beach’s on your off days. And mountain biking too so you can enjoy the hinterland and bush.
It's a very closed community for sure. In terms of the mood of Queensland compared to other Australian cities is known to be parochial. I mean yiu feel like the nightlife is something only for the young. Lolz the roadworks, it's taken three years to make no progress
i know of someone who moved to gold coast from uk, absolutely hated it, they brought a house and the neighbors dog kept barking all the time and they kept having difficulty sleeping.
dang that sounds expensive. Im only paying $280/wk for a 3 bedroom in Perth (Western Australia), and still only a short drive to the beach or the city CBD
I was willing to pay $650/week for a 2 bedrooms apartment at Southport without sea views and it ended up with my application being ignored. Because one of my 20+ fellow competitors made a total payment for the rents of 6 month in advance to secure this rental property… ffs
my opinion gold coast and brisbane is a place only to visit. I moved from Canberra to Brisbane 2 years ago i was so excited to be in a new city thinking i would be doing all these things every weekend travelling gold coast/sunny coast etc but it does not happen when you work full time i literally have no energy on the weekends because my body is so tired from travelling all week to work because of the commute on the trains and even when i drive to work its worser being in conjested traffic it takes me an hour and a half to get to and from work every day. you literally feel like a robot get up early get on the train constantly glued to your phone until you get off at your station to go to work and get back on the train after work and rush to get a seat on the train in peak hour and then sit down glued to your phone again till get you get off your station and you do it all over again the next day. I cannot wait to move its not a good lifestyle its to draining
Wow, that's bad. I've decided to keep it simple. Purchased a house for under 200k with no mortgage in a small rural town. Quit my most recent full time job to stop the entrapment of it all. Now just work a few hours a week (will try to get a 20 hr a week job soon). Have my own chooks and vegie gardens. Time to visit friends and family, ride my moto and mountain bikes etc. More energy more often. Yeah!
@@darrenrogers5735 yeah and you gotta leave certain times to beat the traffic no point travelling anywhere on long weekends because it's to conjested and accidents your stuck on a highway for hours and when schools on traffic is a nightmare also I don't know how people live here they must be used of it but not me I prefer smaller cities or country towns!

I lived on the Gold Coast for 17 years. It is one of the worst places for employment and building a social network. There's a reason why there is 700k people living there and Melbourne has 5M and Sydney 6M. You cannot make friends there because 85% of people who migrate to the GC just end up going back in 5-10yrs because it hasn't worked out for the above mentioned reasons. There real-estate market is highly volatile, I was very unfortunate to be apart of the GFC in 2009 where property prices plunged almost 50% in popular suburbs like Mermaid Beach. The food and Service on the GC is Crap also because they only cater for tourist who come and go and are not interested in retaining long term patrons. Its always so freaking hot there too! In summer months believe it or not it can go from October to May, after you finish having a shower, you start sweating again as you put your clothes back on. Surfers Paradise will never get its act together, it does nothing but attract scummy tourist who are there to party and drink and you will often see vomit on the street corner early Sunday mornings after all the scum has partied on Saturday night. The GC lost the Indianapolis 500 and now Palazzo Versace is leaving the GC. Chadstone shopping centre in Melbourne absolutely trumps Pacific Fair and Robina town centre. The Gold Coast was a great place in 90's and early 2000's but it has lost the Pizzazz it once was...
Yes the GFC on the Gold Coast was real, units that were sold for $800K dropped to $400K over the period interest rates rose just like interest rates are rising today, be careful where you invest your money. It is the Florida of Australia, over supply, changing bank valuations and commission breath Real Estate Agents who will sell you the dream to get a contract signed.

Gold Coast has moderate safety metrics. Crime rates in Gold Coast are near the average for all cities and towns of all sizes in Australia. Gold Coast is safer than 47% of all Australian communities and 34% of Queensland cities and towns. However, theft is a common offence in Gold Coast.
I moved to the Gold Coast 7 years ago and have been enjoying it ever since! The lifestyle is great! The people are a lot friendlier than the zombies living in Sydney. However, the best spot to live is in Central GC or Southern GC. Lots of traffic in M1 southbound, so if you live in North GC then you will get caught up in traffic a lot! Many people in GC work in Brisbane for office jobs. Yes, I agree that not many office jobs in the GC, as not many big offices located in the GC. Lots of people who moved to the GC have jobs that enable them to work online. I went back to Sydney once for holiday and was shocked of how crowded Sydney is now! I never looked back! Sydney people, don’t move to the GC. Stay there and enjoy the crowds! 😂. Leave us alone here in the GC, don’t pump the property price even higher!

Yes. Melbourne is 1000x times better. If it wasn’t for stupid lockdown and Dan fucking Andrew’s regime. I would have been so happy living there. Now I m back in Gold Coast have to deal with racists , no multiculturalism , no culture. Just pure bogans , hoons and goons.
Transport is pretty rubbish there IMO unless your just going straight up & down the highway…along the main strip. If you’re at Robina, Mudgeeraba etc. you’ll need a car 😏

Expensive rents, lack of housing, 200 people to an inspection, sky high prices for the basics, prospective employers and recruitment agencies ignoring job applications/ghosting (even aussie born folk). A lot of people move from the south east of Australia to the Gold Coast and qld. Many eventually move back down south again eventually Because of the heat and humidity and family ties. Why live there when you can go there for a holiday once a year. That’s what most people do.
@@davidaustrian9455 Nah ..moved here 10 yrs ago, would not go back to Sydney, the lifestyle here is awesome! Feels like holiday every day ! People looks more stress and depressed in Syd and Melb… feel like they work endlessly…
Surfers Paradise is all I see in video.. Anyway the crime in Surfer's is dreadful..Public drunkenness is on par with Melbourne's CBD on Friday night..Sunshine Coast way better option
This video certainly glorifies the places weirdly. Here's a better pros and cons list. Pros: - Beaches are great. - Relaxed vibe. - Weather is great - Surfers and Broadbeach. - Hikes and Walks Cons: - No CBD - Mostly jobs are trades and healthcare. - Superficial and judgy people. - Minimal art, theatre or culture scenes. - Bad public transport and everything is spread out. I would say crime here is the same as any other region.

Expensive, overdeveloped, bad traffics and crimes…. So u believe Sydney and Melbourne are better in all these ?
I totally agree. It is full of fake people, there are ugly homes, suburbian streets where all look the same, what a hopeless olace todrive such a nuisance city, humid, ugly
You wouldn't survive a day in Melbourne or Sydney if you think gold coast has traffic.
Shortage for accommodation, rental's price skyrocketing this last year, non-affordability for many people... etc etc.
Thanks for your comment :) This was actually (briefly) mentioned in the video from min. 03:00
Sad.
My kids are fourth generation. Everyone wants GC to be as it was when growing up or moving here. Be part of the solutions mate.
Yes true, I've been living here 20 years... i agree totally
You wish the gold coast had as much substance as a northern sydney suburb
Desember 2022 saya mengunjungi Gold Coast selama 4 hari, rasanya benar benar belum cukup, tapi saya harus meneruskan perjslanan ke Sydney sesuai jadwal. Belum bisa move on sampai sekarang. Visa Australia masih berlaku hingga 2025. Saya sedang merencanakan untuk kembali mengunjungi Gold Coast tahun depan untuk waktu yang sedikit lebih lama.semoga tercapai keinginan saya
Gold Coast is very busy of people, no car parking, full of people everywhere. If you looking for traffic car, Busy shopping centre and fast food, that’s your next place.
Beautiful coast line.
I enjoyed watching your contents.
It's the place to be, I'm 22
Park and ride on the tram to Tallebudgera once it's built?
It is not worth moving to the Gold Coast. People say it has no soul and can be unfriendly. It is very hot in summer. Crime is through the roof. The QLD government is soft on crime. The cost of living is higher than in other states of Australia because of its holiday destination. The locals pay more for everything to cover for the tourists. There are no real jobs, only hospitality. The rent is very expensive. To buy a property is very expensive. It is also overcrowded and takes you ages to get from one place to another re the traffic jams.
The no soul is an understatement !
Yes Gc has most racist Irish immigrants (inferior white) who came to this country on a convict visa.
More Irish ancestry in your city means more crime and racism.
How tf can you say jobs in hospitality aren't real jobs lmfao, God if you only knew
I was born on the gold coast and this pretty much nails it
Unless you have family here there’s less populated places northern nsw and north beyond the sunshine coast it’s definitely worth a look the GC long ago lost it golden glow way too many people have moved here.
One thing is that if you have to travel north to work, be aware the M1 is a nightmare to drive
with so much blockage in the afternoons!
This is my home and I absolutely love it.
I have lived here for 32 years .Best place ever.
Rentals are at 0.6% availability.... research before coming here.
good on you mark
You can't.
Beautiful coast line.
I enjoyed watching your contents.
Springbrook Mountain gold coast has the best waterfalls and views.. absolutely amazing.. everyone should visit there.
The only thing I like about GC is it's flat unlike Brissy. However when I lived in Bardon and Toowong I did like the views up high. Just not walking or riding up them ...
Love your content keep dropping them!💯👏
Rent prices are actually quite good on the Gold Coast and there are many properties for sale MUCH cheaper than in places like Sydney and Melbourne.
I found the same in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane as well,,, luckily I am right next to the beach like u said
can u recommend me some more quieter places? I have the same impression as you mentioned here, the beaches are attractive but its too many flipflop people with beer bellies lol
Iv been here 20 years. Not once did you mention the transport industry, we drive the trucks that supply everything you talked about. It's expensive. But surfers paradise is putrid now days.
I've lived on the Gold Coast for my entire 50 years. If it wasn't for family & my connection to the place there is NO WAY I would ever move here in a blue fit!! Its Sydney / Melbourne / Auckland by the sea now, truly a paradise lost....sad, really sad...
Hi Elston, what makes you say that? We were there in 2012+13 and loved it but maybe not seeing the full picture

You can thank greedy landlords and real estate agents for that
@@nickdaskalakis9289 thanks RBA for lifting up the interest rate before thanks landlord
Hi, I am planning to come there as international student. So, I am just wanna know that is there hard to find a job for international student?
Really you explain it well 👍 I love it
Your Voice is so amazing Ma'am and you are so gorgeous Iam planning to move to Australia Goldcost Very big fan of yours
The Gold Coast is so much more than the clips you showed of surfers paradise & high rises. Forgot the hinterland close by, the quieter southern end & parks & playgrounds etc
Locals don't even go to surfers paradise
Amazing review. Keep it up 👍
Does it have blue skies and sunshine 😅?
I need to plan to settle in the Gold Coast, what should I do?
I’ve lived all up the east coast of Australia and I think the Gold Coast is the place to be! Rent is going apeshit but so is everywhere else half decent
I love the Gold Coast.. Better than Brisbane imo if you’re considering living in QLD.. The perfect work-life balance by the beach.
We have experienced a huge issue with this territorial backward detest of 'outsiders.'
As for the beaches, yes they are beautiful, but you have a very small chance of living on the beach with the beach lifestyle.
@@gavintifler4606 hard to enjoy those things when there's not very nice people everywhere you turn....
Curious to know what work you do - if you care to share.

An Englishman complaining? Never....
dang that sounds expensive.
280 a week is very, very cheap. Even a two bedroom apartment about 4 kilometres from Brisbane CBD is 420 a week now.
Before covid a room to rent was $150-$200 now is at least and if you are lucky $350 where maybe you will be sharing with somebody else
Main beach is so famous 😂🥹 so many beach
my opinion gold coast and brisbane is a place only to visit.
Yeah!

Pros:
- Beaches are great.
- Relaxed vibe.
- Weather is great
- Surfers and Broadbeach.
- Hikes and Walks
Cons:
- No CBD
- Mostly jobs are trades and healthcare.
- Superficial and judgy people.
- Minimal art, theatre or culture scenes.
- Bad public transport and everything is spread out.
I would say crime here is the same as any other region.
And another negative is, too many tourists.

The infrastructure or lack thereof on GC totally sucks. Useless place to live if you don't have a car.
