I love when young people discover the greats
🥰
Ann is by far is 1 of the greatest voices in rock EVER!!🤨👍👏
🥰
At this level of performance, you really can't say who has the single greatest voice in rock, but there is nobody better than Ann Wilson.
No argument here! 👍👍👍
@@passing_bye5991 were you there?
@@passing_bye5991 really cause i saw this band live in my state ky they sound just like this and another thing your so wrong bands spent time on the road promoting their new albums thats how they made a living you fool dont talk about something you know nothing about bands had to pay the people who back them back then
These magnificent ladies are legendary 🤘
🥰
I saw them live in 79, floor back 10 rows and she was killing the mic. You heard her force and how much volume of sound she produces. She never made anything look hard, all looked easy as heck and you know it isn't
There's a reason she's one of Floor's heroes.
She is so amazing, thank you for sharing
Who opened for them?
Omg. Melting..... so jealous
I must have seen them at least half a dozen times in the 70's both as an opening and the lead band, including before they became popular. They never failed to disappoint.
You need to watch the Kennedy Center Heart version of Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heavy. She was 62 years old when she did probably the best cover of any song in history.
Her voice is exactly how she sounds live. If she doesnt want to take any short cuts in her live performances. She is a female steve perry. Her voice never cracks.
Oh she is so amazing🥰
Dog and butterfly is a great Heart song. These two sisters are amazing. Their harmonies are to die for.
🥰🥰🥰
That is a beautiful song!
I'm pretty sure this a studio recording played over a live performance. To give you background of the inspiration of this song, The Wilson sisters revealed in various interviews that the song was about Heart's anger towards an ad Mushroom Records placed in trade publications implying that Ann and Nancy were lesbians having an affair. The song focuses on Ann's rage towards a promoter who came up to her after a concert in Detroit asking how her "lover" was. She initially thought he was talking about her then-boyfriend - band member Michael Fisher. After the promoter revealed he was talking about her sister Nancy Wilson, Ann became angry and went back to her hotel room to write the song. Nancy put suitably angry music to the words to complete the song comparing the sleazy side of music to a dangerous fish
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Comical you think they can match her vocals to a studio performance. This is her live...
@@dougphelps6917This is definitely the studio recording, not a live audio, I've heard this song way too many times, to even believe this is a live version someone just wouldn't know the original studio recording. There are a few parts you can tell where they don't match up to her stage performance
Oh thanks super much for taking the time to share🥰🥰🥰
@@Ledzepnut There is a vid out there that has the actual live audio. It was posted on a YT channel Tripwire. I tried posting the link but my post was removed.
This is truly one of the most iconic and brilliant performances of all time.
🥰🥰🥰
Heart was ground breaking in the 70's in that they were the first seriously talented female (Ann and Nancy Wilson) fronted rock band ever. I know because I was a teenager who was a rock/southern rock guy in the 70's who listened listened to Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Lynyrd Skynyrd etc.
The first time I heard them, it blew my mind because in those days Rock music was completely dominated by male bands. I was a huge fan immediately and still am to this day.
🥰🥰🥰
Debatable. There were groups like We Five, Spanky And Our Gang, The Momma's and the Papas, Jefferson Airplane, etc.
What about The Runaways? There were several female fronted bands in the 70’s.
The singer Ann and her sister Nancy on guitar also have softer songs where their tenderness comes out in the singing and music. 'Dog and Butterfly' and 'Dreamboat Annie' are slow amazing songs. Other songs worth a hit. 'Magic Man' and 'Crazy on You'. Thanks for the great reaction she is one of the best rock singers ever. Chris
Thanks for watching too
i think dreamboat annie may be my favorite
Saw Heart in 1997 during a '70's classic rock weekend with 30 bands outdoors in a field! Heart ended off the Friday night.I was at least 100 yards from the stage and Ann's banger vocals shook my plastic beer cups!!! Friggin' awesome time!
Thanks for sharing
You need to watch Ann Nancy and Jason Bonham doing Led Zepplin Stairway to Heaven tribute at Kennedy Center Honors....many years after this performance.....standing ovation from Zepplin members and President Obama.....awesome performance
Thanks for sharing
That is a MUST watch. Completely live, completely proving she lost very little with age, and if you know some of the backstory about the person drumming... a real tearjerker. And its a song where virtually EVERY cover normally sucks. Except THIS one (and maybe Dolly Parton's cover of it).
A MUST WATCH IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!
Heart covering "Stairway to Heaven", Kennedy Center Honors is a must viewing...!~
Thanks for sharing
I absolutely concur. When you get the standing ovation from the original performers, you know you nailed it!
@@ernesthakey3396a standing ovation AND tears.
The Wilson sisters are simply legends. Rock Goddesses. I grew up with their music in the 70's. One of the best live bands out there.
Anne Wilson is a force of nature, I love this song and it's a great introduction to her amazing voice but if you really want your mind blown check out "Mistral Wind". That song really shows her range from soft and mellow to full-on screams, it's an amazing song. Great reaction as always!
Thanks so much for your recommendation
Oh man, Anne Wilson is unquestionably one of the GOATs when it comes to female rock vocals. You would love, and be really impressed by, her vocals in their hit "Alone" from 1987.
Link to that video: th-cam.com/video/1Cw1ng75KP0/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for sharing
Yes, Heart definitely rocks. The Wilson sisters have basically always been some of the greatest women in music. They have other songs that are very much worth checking out. My personal favorite happens to be “Alone”, which is a dramatic, emotional tune. Their live tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center is also phenomenal. As well, she sang The National Anthem before a Seattle sporting event. And, though Ann is much older now, she has still done some live gigs as recently as just this year.
Thanks so much Mr. Matthew for sharing🥰much appreciated🥰
The record company execs had started a rumor of she and her sister (the blonde) being lovers. That really pissed her off and this song was her reaction. If I remember the story correctly, she wrote this song in one night in their motel room. Love your channel and reactions.
Thanks for sharing the info
She turned that problem into a hit song and they left that record company, too. Showed them.
Her sister Nancy also has a great voice which she shows singing lead on "These Dreams".....there are really good acoustic versions of "These Dreams" and "Alone"
Thanks for sharing
Ann and sister Nancy grew up exposed to a lot of different kinds of music. Ann has great natural vocal talent which she makes great use of. Grace Slick is another great vocalist with a siren for a voice and knows how to use it. I'm glad a young person like you is getting into ❤️ Heart. Your classical background gives a perspective and understanding the average person probably doesn't have.😊❤
Thanks so much for sharing and for your kind words
Heart is one of those bands that you need to react to as much as possible cause there are so many great songs
🥰🥰🥰
I've seen Heart live more times than I could count. They were the real deal! Always a great performance! Extremely talented musicians and songwriters. Her sister also sings very well, even though she is not the lead singer, and plays the guitar, which she also does very well.
🥰🥰🥰
There is no question Ann Wilson has an amazing voice.
I can personally attest to that.
I saw them on August 16th 1977 at Convention Hall in Asbury Park, New Jersey, center balcony seats in a 2,500 seat arena.
🥰🥰🥰
The very same day Elvis died...😮
@@perpetualbystander4516 yes, someone outside Convention Hall had transistor radio, no smart phones back then, while we were waiting to go in heard he died.
Heart did Zeppelin's "Rock n Roll" as the last song of the encore and they dedicated it to the King.
@@vernhoke7730 Thanks for sharing! That was really a nice gesture from Heart's hearts. ❤️
She is still touring the world and is great.
Thanks for sharing
Love it !! I was 12 years old when Magic Man, on a single, was getting airplay on local radio. I managed to goad my dad into trying to get me into a local nightclub to hear them !! He managed to get me in with a $20 tip and a promise to keep me kinda outa sight ! I became a lifelong fan of the band. The first album was recorded/pressed at Mushroom Records in Vancouver, Canada where I live, and my copy of Dreamboat Annie, is an original Mushroom Records pressing, which is actually a rather rare album nowadays ! Over the years, at a concert in Vancouver, I managed to meet up with Roger Fisher, and was introduced to the band. It was awesome to meet them all. Nancy Wilson doesn't do a lot of front vocals, but when she does, it becomes apparent she also has quite the talent herself. If you ever get the chance to go see Ann Wilson do a live show, go see her. She is fortunate to still have some serious vocal chops !!
Wanna hear an even better one she belts out ?? Find the original of 'Alone' . It will NOT disappoint you !!
Ann is touring now with her band. We just saw her. Next year she and her sister will be touring as HEART. Go see her live. Best female rock voice ever.
Thanks for sharing
That's been postponed. Ann has cancer.
Anne is definitely one of those people in rock that if she'd wanted to, she could have received the training and sang opera as well. She has the lungs for it, for sure, and the natural theatrics/charisma to sing and act a part in an opera.
Yep, just like Nina Hagen or Floor Jansen. But opera is really boring now. What used to be a mass-entertainment, has turned into an enclosed elitist club of sorts.
Thanks for sharing
Enjoy this rabbit hole. One of the top rock bands ever.
Thanks so much
Ann: Apex female vocalist in her genre, 1963-1987. Transcendent female pop-rock duo for 24 yrs.

I was fortunate to massively enjoy at live Heart concert in my life.
🥰🥰🥰
Huge hit for Heart. Ann Wilson could really belt a song out. Great rocker.
🥰🥰🥰
I met ann and Nancy Wilson in 88 I set them up in concert she's the best female rock singer of all time hands down and both nice people in real life
Thanks for sharing
It is said that Ann's voice could slice the armour off a Sherman tank. Both she and her sister have in depth training in singing opera
Thanks so much for sharing🥰🥰🥰
I was around 10 years old when one of my friends had this album on a 8 track tape we played the hell out of it lol,,iam 55 now and more into thrash metal but i do love to still listen to great classics like this or Boston,,and you is turning into a very beautiful young woman, keep that smile,,very awesome reaction
I'm 64. A hard 70's rocker. Never got into Heart until the past few years from watching them on you-tube. Mostly thru Music reactors! Love them now!!!!
Oh thanks so much
I was super lucky to see them live in the summer of 1978 at an outdoor concert... It was awesome!!!
😍😍😍
Awesome Beautiful Reaction
To two beautiful strong rockin sisters
😍😍😍
The true Queens of Rock n Roll!
♥️♥️♥️
One of the COOLEST BANDS OF ALL TIME is HEART ...IM HAPPY YOU FOR CHECKING THEM OUT
😍😍😍
Heart definitively had tremendous talent and just sounded so cool. This song is from before I was born but I think it rocks. Very very good song

Dynamic, power, & control - Yes - Ann Wilson is one of Rock's finest vocalists. This is a studio track played with some live footage in sync to it. Heart has a lot of other songs that showcase Ann's skills as a vocalist. "Mistrel Wind", "Love Alive", "Crazy On You" - to name a few.
Thanks for the info!
I really enjoy how much you get into these songs. I wish more people from your generation would appreciate music like this.
I’m so happy you’re doing a reaction to Heart! 👍🏼 I figured you would enjoy it.
Yes, i love it🥰🥰🥰
Ann's voice is a force of nature. She can whisper like a gentle spring breeze, or howl like a hurricane!
🥰
Best female singer hands down
Ann was 26 years old at that time. Her voice aged like a good wine and she developed it all the time.
Look at Heart's interpretation of Zeppelins masterpiece “Stairway to heaven".
Legendary !!!
Thanks for sharing💕
That’s one of if not The most favorite songs of mine that they do… everything about it is stellar.. intro guitar riff is hard driving… her vocals are beautiful and intense.. the lead guitar using the harmonics and all of them together are culminating into a climatic end. It’s really fun to play on guitar also..
Thanks so much for sharing🌺
HEART!!!!!! Yes!
🥰🥰🥰
I will never get over this song. Ever. This is an immortal song. Every single sound in this song is burnt into stone and in minds, like every bit has a recognizable signature on it. You could hear just a brief fx sample and know what it was straight away if you'd heard it before. And that is something onto itself. That above all else from the composition to the skill to the performance is that it's irrefutable transcendent of being a melody. Like there are many songs and Barracuda is a song as well yet there is only one and only Barracuda and it is indistinguishable from anything else. To me that is when an artist has achieved at peak.
Thanks so much for sharing
My personal opinion, Ann was the most powerful lady singer back in the day's. I hade a crush for Ann when I was a teen back then 😂. 🇮🇹🇧🇪🇪🇺
🥰
Opera music is birth of vocal music, through out the world.
🥰
Ann Wilson is a Sanger. One of the best groups ever.
😊
Hi Aaliyah, great selection and reaction. Ann Wilson has some of the best pipes in rock music.
I'd like to suggest reacting to Heart paying tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center Honors by singing "Stairway to Heaven". It's legendary.
👍👍💯💯 My thoughts exactly!!!!
Thanks for your suggestions
At 71 she still rocks it
🥰
Im glad I lived in the 70's and 80's as a teen...... best eras ever for music!!!
🥰
You do a smart and thoughtful review, all while showing your enthusiasm. Kudos to you, Aaliyah!
Oh thank yoy very much🥰
Fine reaction, thank you! 🙂Check out Heart´s version of Stairway to Heaven, Kennedy Center Honors - Led Zeppelin!! You will not regret it! 🙂And you will get to compare Ann´s voice then, and something that is close to now...
Thanks so much for the recommendation
And such vocal range - and without Autotune.
🥰
IMHO the greatest voice male or female in the history of rock/pop music. Range, power, softness, phrasing, vibrato, diction, control. She had the entire package. The GOAT.

You really need to look at ALL their songs!!! They were a HUGE element in 70's and 80's rock and roll. These two women were leading the way with the vocal and song writing prowess! You owe it to yourself to educate yourself by exposing yourself to all the catalogue of music. Enjoy!

Saw them twice in concert there live performance is just as good as the studio versions Ann's voice is top notch
another great one is the live version of Dog and Butterfly in Seattle Filmed on August 8th, 2002 at the Paramount Theatre in their home city of Seattle on the last night of their Summer Of Love Tour . it's just the 2 sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson Each with an acoustic guitar and a mic . if you want to hear Nancy take the lead try These Dreams from the same concert

I think the song Alone may be her best vocal performance.
🥰
I agree 👍💯❤
Heart was one of my first concerts as a teenager. Thanks for reacting to this Classic Rock song.

The late Maestro David Kyle was the vocal coach for Ann Wilson, Geoff Tate from Queensryche, and Layne Staley from Alice in Chains, as well as Metropolitan Opera singers Marilyn Horne, Frederica Von Stade and Jess Thomas. She is in very good company.

Three magical Heart songs: this one, "Magic Man," and "Crazy On You." They're like perfect songs. Exceptional drums and guitar in addition to the vocals.

Queen somebody to love - live-in Montreal 1981.
🥰
She is the greatest female singer, ever....You did right by going to Barracuda first, cuz she is the best. I have been a lead singer since I was 27, I'm 53 now.....
Oh thanks so much for sharing
Back in '77 We had No Internet to Look up the Lyrics. The Closest thing we had was a Book Store which had a Lyrics Magazine ($.50). We had to wait till Barracuda was Printed to know for sure what Exactly they sang. I would Pull the Magazine to Read one Song then Walk Away. I wasn't paying anything for the Lyrics but My Brother Did, Once. I Memorized every song in that One Magazine!
Thanks so much for sharing this with us🥰
She's Amazing. Since you liked this song so much, try giving their song ALONE a listen to. It showcases Ann's voice later on in her career. You can hear how her voice has mellowed a little but she still has that power and amazing tone quality.
It is a cover of an I-Ten song, not their own, although they made it famous.
Thanks for the recommendation
Ann Wilson is one of the finest female voices in Rock... EVER! Her sister Nancy on guitar is an absolute beast!!
🥰
Such a powerful and energetic song and performance. Your reaction and commentary really added to the enjoyment. I will definitely be watching more of your reactions. Thank you, dear lady! 🤗
If you are familiar with Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven", I STRONGLY recommend that you listen to Heart's tribute version of the song at Kennedy Center in December, 2012, with Led Zeppelin in attendance. It is absolutely incredible, especially seeing Zeppelin's surviving members' reaction.
Thank you so much for your kind words and recommendations too, much appreciated
Only Ann and Nancy Wilson could have done live justice to Led Zeppelin and "Stairway to Heaven" - and the show runners knew it. The members of LZ present were obviously pleased and grateful.
See also An "All-Star Tribute to Brian Wilson" (2001) at Radio Music Hall. Sir George Martin introduces the show stopper, "Good Vibrations", as being notoriously difficult to perform live - which it is - but then says that "this band" can do it: Wondermints (members thereof), Harlem Boys Choir, Jubilant Sykes, and, of course, fronting the unique ensemble, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart.
Heart is one of the best rock bands. They can still Rock the place.
🥰

Saw them my sophomore year at Ohio State in 1976. My brother and I bought front row seats for $8.00
She to this day, she is in my top 5 singers. Wonderful concert.
🥰
I love their two voices together as sisters. I subscribed, I'm not a professional singer but I am a multi-instrumentalist and I've played in bands for ever and been in recording studios and we can sing adequately for live band stuff that I've been in. So I really appreciate it when people are reacting with some background. I also like what I heard from the little snippets of your singing.
I don't know if you have before because I only saw one playlist, but there are so many great vocal performances out there over the years that were apart of pop or rock or other kinds of music. It's such a rabbit hole.
One great example would be the Elvis Presley 1970 live in Vegas performance of the Simon and Garfunkel Song Bridge Over Troubled Water. He's in the white jumpsuit and he's in fantastic physical condition, the whole show is incredible and people commonly react to many of the videos from it. But he has so much other great stuff from earlier and later also.
But when Paul Simon went to Madison Square Garden and watched from the audience as Elvis performed it, in a good-natured way he basically threw up his hand and said well? It's Elvis's song now. Which that isn't really the case but the Elvis rendition is a live vocal performance with a fantastic band and backing vocalist around him, because he always had the best and they were super tight and close, it really is so fun. I would love to hear your commentary on it.
Thanks so much for your recommendation🥰
She’s close to 70 today and can still belt out the bars!
