Another way to check the see if a op sensor is bad is to take the sensor out and put an oil pressure gauge In place of the sensor and then check to see if you have no pressure if you don't. It's time for further diagnosis, for either a oil pump, clogged oil sump, relief valve or just a clogged oil filter. If you do have pressure, then you're fine and just replace the sensor asap.
You should have told people that another reason for a low oil pressure message is a worn- out oil pump. Especially on a high mileage vehicle.
Damn, i thought it was this easy to figure out.
I'm just worried if it's gonna be an issue if i don't replace sensor soon and/ or at least getting the car checked out!
Good looking out!
I love you for the simplicity of this.
As long as it's correct. Yes.
Holy $#!+ that's the most simple video that was ever made and one of the most helpful videos ever made lmao
I have a 2005 yukon xl and the oil pressure sensor on the bottom is bad how long can I drive with that
My check engine light came on while I was driving and my oil pressure on the gauge didn't move past I think it was 100 kpa, it was between zero and the first mark on my gauge, 2010 Sierra, 5.3L, I'm wondering if the oil pressure sensor and the oil level switch might be bad
Ok so my engine is dirty but I noticed oils and it's only on the oil pressure switch is that a way to tell if it's bad
Cuz I've been told it was a certain place but after taking it out I'm not so sure cuz it doesn't look the same AT ALL!!!! Have I done something wrong??
Thank you for your help
Where exactly does it go in a 2005 Lincoln LS V6??
What if we set the sensor to work in the maximum position so the oil pump also performs on max pressure? I have an Opel Astra K 1.6 cdti that has problems with the chain tensioner and inadequate lubrication of the chain. In order for the chain tensioner to work at the maximum pressure, the oil pump needs to create that maximum pressure. This pressure is regulated by the oil pressure valve. What is a drawback if we set the valve to operate in the maximum position all the time?
My oil light comes on in the golf mk4, it disappears and appears all the time. Oil level is fine. And the temp gauche doenst work when the lights on
Didn’t find scanner link
Got replaced new oil sensor reader and car runs and drives perfect temperature is also perfect but oil light still coming up and after some time switching of what that could be ?
Did you purchase an OEM replacement part, or check the unit for resistance with a multimeter before installing? A lot of the parts now have terrible QC and come non-functional out of the box.
Reset
Could be the fuel relay. That primes the first start. Then the oil pressure sensor keeps it running or if the oil sensor is bad it could cause a fuel relay no first start prime . And not start
HELP PLEASE. 2017 KIA SORENTO OIL LIGHT FLICKERING.
I’m looking at a 2008 Cadillac Escalade. The guy says it has a bad oil pressure sensor and won’t run because of that but I’m not sure if having a bad oil pressure sensor will keep it from running that doesn’t sound right is that true?
If you're genuinely interested in purchasing the vehicle, I recommend requesting the seller to replace the oil pressure sensor before finalizing the deal. This step would allow you to determine if the starting issue is solely related to the sensor.
@@easyautofix thank you that’s what I said to the gentleman but he said I’ve already spent enough money on it and I’m not looking to spend any more money. It’s only for sale as is so I think I’m gonna pass so I don’t get into a money pit.
Alrighty so now I’m not sure if there’s something wrong with my car. The oil pressure holds normal when idling or normal acceleration, but spikes all the way to 80 (max) when accelerating harder or full throttle. Is something wrong with the engine? It’s a 5.3 Vortec with 160k miles so it’s still relatively new
Check pcv valve or vacuum lines. Had a similar problem with my ford
its normal for the pressure to be like that when youre going hard on the gas. A test for you, check the pressure on the gaugge when you`re going up the hill, if it goes down it means you`re low on oil so maybe check it. But yeah it should be around 40 at normal driving or idling and 80 when you`re going fast or accelerating hard, but if it is stuck at 80 constantly when you`re driving normally too, then you should look into it becasue that``s not normal
What if my oil light keeps coming on and off and it's the color red in a 2008 Ford escape
I install a new one but it won’t move it was working fine.
I just got a new truck. Oil pressure keeps bouncing from 0-100. I assume it’s an oil pressure sensor and ordered one, We will see in a few days!
Was it that ?
@@saltykettle9009 yes it was!
Mine started going low when I stop and half way when I drive
Those codes depend on the manufacturer of the car
Can you tell me location of oil sensor on my 2017 rs camaro 3.6?
Just cause there's oil doesn't mean there's pressure
Idk if its my guage cluster or sensor its on a 97 ram 1500 the oil pressure moves up and down and the light comes on even at 40 lbs of pressure the oil light is on 😊
I’m assuming you still have good oil level in it? Is the pressure increasing as you apply throttle?
@@GetTheFOI actually have the same issue and yeah it does increase
My oil pressure light comes on then goes away. Is that also indicates bad oil sensor? Thanks.
Check your oil level
@@FisherTate this happening to me, oil levels are fine though.
If your temperature gauge shows the temperature in the normal range and your motor is not making a clattering sound it would be my guess it's your oil pressure sensor.
@@frankfrankly1366 my engine making a clattering noise what does it mean
@@prvtgoaty_yt4738 could be bearings
So wrong. Having correct oil level does not indicate bad sensor. You could have a bad pump, sending unit, shot rod bearings.
Wait so if your engine oil dipstick sits at full it means new sensor? …. Lol
Symptoms of bad oil pressure sensor: your transmission is out
Or option 3 I click my key forward 3 times and let my truck tell me herself lol
Ocky? Dude sounds 💯 just like Ocky from “The Ocky Way” guy from TicTok 🤔
Oil pump?
I replaced my oil pressure sensor and my oil pump is also good but the light still goes on and off, any ideas what else to check?
Oil is too thin, not enough oil, faulty new sensor, a wire is shorted somewhere, if ya cant fix it tho id say just take a sharpie and cover the light with it/unhook the oil pressure sensor
Check your alternator
Did you use an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) pressure sensor? The aftermarket ones are not very reliable.
@@duanethieme4186Especially nowadays. It’s crazy how bad QC has gotten on parts, I hardly even buy new anymore. Just go junkyard digging and test resistance before installing on electrical components. Even a lot of the OEM stuff now is coming out with a heavy failure rate.
I replaced the new sensor on my 2011 jetta 2.5, but the warning light still coming back. Does anyone know if I have to still drive the car for a few miles until car resets the light away?
Did it ever work out, or was there another issue?? I'm having same issue!!
Same issue happened to my pilot 2015. I cleared the issue and it went away, came back once
Try cleaning up the connector, it could be not getting good contact with the new sensor. I hope you got it figured out
also check the oil pump
Yes you do
I have to say my Oil light comes on when I'm stopping my Truck. It cuts off when my feet on the gas. Now I been got my oil change have got my oil sensor gauge change and it still goes off & on. It's making me so upset. That I put the right amount of oil in the truck it still beats and goes off. My oil dipstick does not read correctly I do not have a oil leak at all. And I can't find No honest mechanic shop out here in ATL that can help me I just been scammed out of Thousand$ of Money left-to-right from the last 12 Years. It made me so upset that I part the truck in the backyard I'm done with it.
Did you actually fix the oil warning light problem? It’s coming on when I’m in a stop and goes away when I step on the gas pedal, it’s on my 2015 Trax 1.4L.
Someone pls help!!!
If your oil is full it’s prob time for a new sensor
I bought my car with a new sensor and today I got my clutch replaced and I was speaking with the mechanic and I told him how the light comes on for the oil when I am below 1000 revs and he said it might be my oil pump and the quotes I got online were pretty much 1k. For reference it’s a corsa 1.4 sxi 2009 and engine goes for about the same price. As a uni student all I can say is I don’t have that kind of money right now😅
get it from scrap
