    I bought this bike 2 weeks after watching this video. I'm super happy with it. It's badass!

      Would you do a little touring on this bike?

    • @P1015532oni
      @P1015532oni 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      +Ricardo Murillo I already have. I did the 1000 km break-in within a week of buying it. I went all over the top part of New Zealand's north island (I live in Auckland). I did 600 km open road in one go at one stage, only stopping occasionally to pee and eat. The power is more than sufficient and the riding position is comfortable. My only gripe is the lack of wind protection. It's acceptable by my standard but sometimes the headwind makes for a very annoying ride. The R3 would probably have more in terms of wind protection but I personally hate the looks of a fully faired bike, not to mention the pains you'd go through removing the fairings for maintenance, that's why I bought this. The three upgrades I'm getting soon are: 1. A bigger screen, 2. Frame sliders, and 3. A tidy tail kit. The upgraded screen should eliminate the niggles of headwind riding and make touring a whole lot more fun.

      +P1015532oni my girl Didn't like the pillion seat on the R3 for some reason, so I might just do the same. Hopefully I'll be able to find some good aftermarket wind protection

      They certainly look like a great bike.
      Just wondering... How buzzy are they in top gear doing 100kmph? :-)

    • @P1015532oni
      @P1015532oni 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Not buzzy at all bro. At 100km/h, top gear, the revs are only at 6500 rpm. And redline is at 12500. 6500 rpm is not even close to it's maximum power yet (at 9000-ish rpm) so there is no strain. Just a comfy cruise. And everyone who's ridden my bike comments on how smooth it is. But then again different people have different standards and the best way for you to judge for sure is do a test ride. I did and I fell in love with the MT03's engine and everything that's in it.

    Cager, I didn't enjoy this particular review that much. I think you focused toooo much on the "hooligan"-pedigree of this bike. I think you should have talked more about why is this bike good for a beginner, what it brings to the table, how are the gear changes, the weight etc etc.

  • @mindcave
    @mindcave 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    With nothing but positive reviews from everyone I've heard talk about this bike, and with how stunning the new Ice Fluo color option of the 2019 model looks, I think I've found my bike.

  • @daviesjack12
    @daviesjack12 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I love these little bikes not because of the low price, but because you can rag the living crap out of the bike and still be within or close to legal speeds. For a rider like me that's moving from a 125 to a bigger bikes, they are awesome.

    • @shingnosis

      Small bike fast is more fun than big bike slow, I agree.

    • @davidtsw
      @davidtsw 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you? What is it, 6s to 100? Not exactly within legal speeds in most places lol. And it probably takes 2-3 more seconds to take you to illegal speeds on any roads including highways.

    Don't want to be a stuck in the mud but your videos clearly show you think it's ok to speed, even in residential areas. Also, no much importance is given to defensive driving. You have a good audience, you should be more carefull with the example you give.

    2017 MT-03 or 2017 Duke 390? The MT-03 is a bit cheaper, and a twin. The Duke has ride by wire throttle, slipper clutch, Colour TFT screen, single cylinder, LED headlights... I've been riding motorcycles for about 25+ years, but I need to get a new, cheap, economical commuter.

    As I remember, it is single cylinder engine, not a parallel twin... but it sounds like a parallel twin, and where is its weird rear amort? I feel confused... Ok. I´ve got it, it is a NEW 2016 mt 03. )) Sorry.=) But I think it should be more correct to give it name like a YBR R3, because it is the same bike as YZF R3, just naked, and because it's totally ruined historical MT 03... and the idea of MT at all.

    • @nicholasrytilahti2322
      @nicholasrytilahti2322 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tomas Andersson It is a 321cc parallel twin :)

    • @SykeMed

    • @ripmax333
      @ripmax333 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Tomas Andersson this is a parallel twin not a single, but I agree that it ruined the MTO3 name, the old MT03 was in a class of it's own, it was a very particular motorcycle, a blend of supermoto and naked bike. it's a shame that they didn't continued with the idea.

    thank you for reviewing this bike.
    Which one would you recommend, the MT-03 or the TNT 300? considering money is not an issue.
    I have to choose between the mt03 and the tnt300. some people told me that i should stay away from the benelli tnt300 because it is chinese and quality is it not top notch .( Ive already watched your video reviewing the tnt300)
    On the other hand, the yamaha is a bike that wont depreciate as much as the benelli will tho, and it is lighter, faster and reliable ( from what Ive been told)
    I would Appreciate your advice.
    Best Regars

      Hello +Christopher Saa... I agree with that people... Stay away of the Benelli TNT. A friend of me got a brand new TNT 250 last year, he sold it after a few months because poor quality, engine issues, suspension and electrical issues...
      I would go for the MT03, actually I did it :)

    I went to the MT event that took place in Athens and I was stunned by this bike ! There was a guy who drove this and the mt-07 and he said to me "I will buy this (the mt-03) , it has everything I need ..." I couldn't ride it because I don't have A2 license but I wanted to test it soooo bad ! I would also buy MT-03 if I could , it has enough power and you can have fun with it . In my opinion buying a naked bike that is over 700 is pointless , I 've heard that the windblasts over 150 km/h are very very strong so you won't be able to have that much fun at high speeds and I would say that the power goes wasted . So , Mt-03 for me... It has all the power I need and I can have fun with ,riding position and comfy seat , I can even do trips on it , it has good fuel consumption , 5.250 euro with ABS , It's a Yamaha (duh) ... I heard Cager complaining about the brakes and it bothers me because I wasn't able to test them but it can't be that bad , can it ?

    Where I'm living right now almost all the decent bikes cost 2x their normal price due to ridiculous taxes, but this one is sold at the right price and it's tempting as hell. Especially with the ABS which is a life-saving feature here. Been riding a Yamaha FZ150 for a year and overall I'm very happy with it but this video makes me wanna buy the MT 03 so much :D

    Just got mine for a month now after watching your video . It reminds me of my old TZR250 2stroke bike full fairing. This is better n lighter. Just like you've said agile, fun, very easy and many more. Here in Singapore we don't have a test bike like you do. We have to buy to know how it feels like. I love this bike compared to all the bike and scooters I owned before. No regrets.

    That's a very free revving bike that picks up really well. Sounds great too. It has some of the the traits of the old two strokes twins Yamaha made which were so much fun around town. Similar in top speed to the old RD350 to. 160 kph is plenty fast enough.

      Duke is cheaper in India maybe because Bajaj owns 47% shares of KTM.

      Duke and the RC are cheapest in India than anywhere else in the world because its made here at the Chakan Plant of Bajaj.

    MT 07 is only 1000€ more expansive so I understand why people would want to skip

      +Ross Marksman in Europe there are licence restriction 3 tiers A1 A2 and full A with no rest. so yea as A2 owner u kinda want bikes with around `42 hp or 0.2kw/kg something like that. and with new regulation u can only have bike that come from factory with that kind of power to weight ratio. so restricted mt 07 is no more option. there is also rumor that Yamaha will release lower power mt07 that gan go with a2. like in Australia there are 2 versions of mt 07 lams and HO (high output) versions. now it us to se how much that will cost

      I know these regulations cause I'm in France and right now the MT-07 can still be bought with his power restricted to 47hp for the A2 licence and its a better option in my opinion
