Now this is the family friendly stuff that some fools apparently feel needs to be a chore taken over by the state. Sorry I just had to get that off my chest.
And now, I'm left sitting here looking forward to the week I get to spend with my son two weeks from now, and we are surely going to go fishing, He's far enough north that those fish will be clean as whistles (I live on the shores of the smallest of the Great Lakes) and tasty as what I remember from boyhood, and those memories hug a long horizon.
So thank you much for that refresher tutorial, on the catch clean and cook. It's been awhile!

I Tried my hand at cleaning and cooking a trout myself after watching this video last week and it turned out great!
Just looked through the cookbook from OSG that I got my wife for Christmas, firstly congrats to the Mrs! Secondly, when are y'all gonna team up and make one that includes things like this?? I'm a generous guy so all I need is 10% of gross earnings and we will call it square... or just keep putting out great content like this, that works too. lol Keep it up man, love seeing how important your family is to you.

Looks like Blue River up in OK. Nice spot in the winter when it’s cold and not too many folks out there. Lots of good places to wade into if you’re willing to walk.
We would take slices of Lake Trout and Lake Superior Whiefish fillers and put lemon and butter and onion on them, wrap them in foil, and provide them as box lunch entrees at the restaurant I cooked at in No. Wisconsin for tours. They were a big hit!

You’re not the only one. Those were stocked by members of trout unlimited (TPWD starts their stocking Dec 3). Tough to watch.

You see the scenery out there in the beginning and river in the middle and think man oh man it’s beautiful out there. But then towards the end of the video you see OSG 😍 she’s the real beauty and makes everything else look average. Damn Justin you legit hit the lottery when it come to your wife!

I was taught by a old Indian guy when I was little how to clean trout. You cut the throat not the back, fold it up and it will gut and skin all at once. Try it sometime.

Nice to see there are still googans that aren't complete sellouts. That's an interesting way of gutting a trout though, I've always just chopped the head and then split the belly.
Southern States should see about stocking Redband Rainbow subspecies from Oregon High Desert, they evolved to handle high Summer temps and low water, I bet a lot would survive in parts of the South.

Scale of he trout the skin fried is amazing
We now have a VERY productive rainbow trout fishery in my home town Gadsden Alabama at Noccalula Falls/Black Creek its fly fishing ONLY for now however its a beautiful place to for all ages
EDIT: It was just stocked 2 weeks ago with 3500 and will be stocked again the end of December and again early February that being said after just 2 years of stocking the trout seem to hold year round

u can put out inerts/gills while leaving the head on the fish if u just make a little cut across undderneeth the chin.. that way u also have the cheeks to eat, wich is the best part.. also makes the meat not go dry so fast when cooking.. Also its even less pulling and cutting then when ur cutting off the heads..
Some trout (stockers) have the white meat and don't taste very good, at least here in CO. I've also caught many non stockers that have nice pink meat which to me taste so much better. But Id still choose a wiper for walleye any day lol.

That baby bass looks like a Choctaw bass it's not because you're not in Florida but I'm pretty sure that's one of the rare bass subspecies that inhabit some rivers
It looks a lot like a Kentucky Spotted Bass.
