Twice we had to bank the boat and take shelter. We caught wipers from about 10 a.m. to roughly 6 p.m. with only a couple times of having to search for them. Towards the end of the day. We turned into a big cove and the whole thing was boiling with wipers. It was awesome. Love your videos. Good to see your dad out there with you making memories. Fish on LFG!

I love catching top water stripes on a 5-6” white or bubble gum fluke with a size 2-3 EWG hook. Love the vids and this bring back memories here in AZ about 13-14 years ago when the stripers were so thick you could catch hundreds in a night of fishing for em and could take home a 100qt cooler full if you wanted.
Was just there at the end of April (I’m from Missouri) and we tore them up! First time striper fishing for me and it was a blast. Also caught a 35 pound blue cat. That lake was amazing. Thanks for the video lfg! Love your stuff!
There's a lake by me that's exactly like this every night from late Aug through mid Oct. You can do this til your arms fall off most are 5-6lbs some up to 8-12 lbs. We throw super spooks, spook jr. and whopper ploppers til the sun goes down. They also hammer the mag draft 8" which is fun and usually a bigger fish.
One of those days you will never forget. Also them sandies get bigger then that up in Central Oklahoma. If you ever have time driving in okc lake Hefner is a sleeper eye lake just saying. Keep em comin one of your best with your dad.

One of my favorite times fishing was at Texoma on the bank catching stripper all morning with top water lures. My wife was cranking them in on a cheap Walmart zebco. I thought her rod was going to snap a few times

One of those trips where the next day you try to figure out why your ribs hurt - then you realize its from jamming that rod end in your ribs fighting stripers...or its from laughing so hard catching almost every cast. I've had this experience a few times - had a memorable day with big stripers on Tawakoni - all fish were close to 10lbs.
Crazy. That was my fish of choice when fishing the delta. Never saw this action. But, we had some biggens. 40-60 pounds were common, but you had to know the waters. PB was a 55# striper.
I bet just throwing a Alabama rig would slay them how thick they was .good god that was a awsome bite to watch .never had the experience to catch those
Some nice fish. I'm on the jersey shore and everyone throws big white top water when the stripers are running. I come in throwing a big yellow popper that I call the school bus. It usually kills. Next time try a yellow popper see if you have the same results as me. Your on a lake and I fish the ocean just curious
Love those stripers making the reel scream. How heavy are the big stripers down there like 10lb-15lb? Love seeing a full cooler knowing a great fish fry is coming up👍👍👍 I can't quite seem to get the walk the dog pattern perfect with poppers and spooks and glide baits, is it better to use a bit caster for that vs a spinning reel, what rod action and length is recommended?
The big striper they catch in the winter in Texas are over 20lbs but I've never caught one over 12ish. I just like to fish for them with bass gear when they are schooling! I like a bait caster better because of the higher gear ratio that you have more control over the line when walking and reeling in to cast to another fish busting. I was using our Googan Squad reaction rod which is 7'2" medium power, with moderate speed. It's better suited for crank baits but it loads better for casting long and reaching schools better than a medium fast. For most medium to small size walking baits and poppers I like something just under 7' MEDIUM POWER, FAST action. Our GOLD series twitch rod is especially good for poppers, it feels more like a fast than a moderate. The main thing that you want is responsiveness in your twitches, quick short and snappy. You can achieve this with lower stretch line like braid, or a faster tip on the rod. The key is you have to give the bait a little slack to move to the side each time and not be drug forward. We have a video talking about popper set up @googanlab but sounds like we should do a video on this question. Thanks and keep castin'!

Should have switched out the hooks. While heddon makes some kick ass lures, they aren't known for great hooks. Love striper fishing!
