Both my knees do this. I'm lost I don't were to begin. I went to a doctor. He focused on my ankle and told me to get a primary doctor which I'm having a tough time finding.

I have had my knees bad and not so bad . Hydration and not so many caffine drinks helped me as I think dehydrated state and possibly Dairy and gluten made my situation worse if I stay away from those pain in both my injured knees gets better.

This information is absolutely invaluable. I just found you and have subscribed and will watch every video you have on the meniscus.
    I have so many questions.
I just learned - after several months of complaining that “something wasn’t right”my surgery did not fare well: acl is still intact but the meniscus repair failed.
I’m kind of devastated and also trying to stay hopeful.

    Hi Dr
I had a bucket handle meniscus tear.
I'm doing physical therapy n fortunately having no pain.
From zero movement to walking normal.
I do hear grating n cracking sometimes. Do u think it will lead to degeneration of the cartilage.
What can I do to prevent it

Question, I had a motorcycle wreck around 2 years ago. Broke every bone in my left leg. I’ve been recovered for a while now.. however, my range of motion SUCKS. it feels like my knee/leg locks/ won’t move past 90 degrees. (An L shape) is this something I’ll have to have surgery on to fix? Or is this permanent.

I went to ortho today he said my leg being locked means I need surgery. However I had surgery on my other knee 20+ years ago (and yet I just turned 46 years of age), this one just feels different. Question is I guess, is it feasible to continue to move my knee with the exercises I’ve seen you post even though I have to use my own hand to move my leg? Doc today stated that my muscles were protecting my knee by locking up. He asked me to release by picking up the underside of my leg but my muscles just wouldn’t relax. I’m thinking this may be because I’ve been in an ace bandage for a couple weeks and I work in a grocery store as a manager so I’m always moving, 10k to 15k steps a day. Is there a leg brace that would help, that you might suggest? Are there questions to ask that might help me from not having surgery? Thanks a lot! 😊

I have a problem with my left groin crease and upper left thigh. The leg has locked up on me twice to the point where it won't move so I have to use a walker to support me while my right leg does all the work and the left leg just gets pulled along extremely slowly. It happened to me a few months ago, I had to rest for months in bed, then it happened to me again. I had a total left hip replacement 2.5 years ago and have had various problems since then on my left groin and thigh. Is this a similar type of issue?

    • @BJ-v

Hip arthritis ? I have pain in my left area also . I suspect from recent weight gain and atrophy to my muscles because of Covid I either tore something or have tendinitis which led to arthritis now. I hope not I’m having to walk with a walker and that hip feels loose I can’t bend it without pain. It flares up and it flares down

    How meniscus can be revived.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  ปีที่แล้ว +3

Hey Kanta, great question! One of the greatest facts about the body is that it is very capable of healing itself. All it needs is the right environment to heal. So, if you create a good muscular balance at the knee, this will maximize the joint space available. Increasing the joint space can create the environment necessary for your meniscus to heal! It will likely not heal back to 100%, however, it will heal sufficiently to return to your daily activities without pain. Here are a couple of links that have videos that may help if you are interested in learning more!
