    A nice load of copper after that sorting out. Sometimes those springs are hard to remove if they are really rusty and same with that black sticky stuff.....When its too hard to remove i just leave it on and sell it as domestic copper.......Good video.

    Is there a reason you put the unclean filters in bottom of bucket have a steel insert in them

    • @simplescrapping
      @simplescrapping  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No reason.... The scrapyard take those filters as they are.... They don't care about a small piece of steel

    do yourself a favor and go buy a $20 pair of cable cutters from harbor freight. about the same size, but it actually can close all the way, EASILY, and can open up a heck of an amount bigger than those bolt cutters. save those for harder materials. I GUARANTEE u it'll be waaaaay faster.

    • @6980869
      @6980869 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Or Amazon, of course, as I see u arent in the USA

    • @simplescrapping
      @simplescrapping  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's in my future plans to buy one of those cutter my friend..... For some reason they are pretty expensive here....

    Is the shiny stuff NOT considered as #1 at the scrapyard that u take it to?! To anybody out there starting scrapping, One of the most helpful things one can do BEFORE making the trip to the scrapyard, is to separate the different materials, and take that a step further, and separate different grades of same type of metal. It's faster for u, so less time spent at the yard, less time that you take up space at the yard, which gives opportunity for other customers. That includes you, when others are occupying that space before you. That, in turn, makes yards happier. Everybody wins

      @6980869 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i just read one of your replies to a comment. #1 for wire & #2 for all other copper. Does that mean that ANY gauge copper wire is #1, no matter how big or small?

    • @simplescrapping
      @simplescrapping  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my scrapyard they take all the wires as no1..... Some others take it as no2 (thin wires) ....

  • @timhilton1271
    @timhilton1271 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Be a lot faster you cut that with an angle grinder instead of bolt cutters

    • @simplescrapping
      @simplescrapping  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good idea... I never thought about that👍. Thank you buddy
