At 41yrs. of age, Luke Holland inspires me to practice and stay on top of the drumming game. I love having "New Generation Drummer" inspiration! F it, I'm using my double pedal on my top 40 rock gig tmrw night!
I'm going to have to agree here, he's a huge inspiration to me. Although I am younger, I've been playing for 8 years and haven't really been too serious, so in the past few months I've been working on quite a lot!

Reuben Lujan new generation drummer for this generation has so much monsters as gartska, Luke, Troy wright etc, i want to keep up with them but i just started a year ago like dec 2013

+jeffame7 I feel like half the people who listen to the 'genre' they like to classify them in, hates them or only likes their earlier material.
+Sam Smith my main issue with TWA is that even though they show obvious technical ability, the songwriting is extremely boring and the way the songs flow feels incredibly forced. Plus songs like Lighthouse sound desperate for commercial success and they don't display anything head turning that the band has to offer. I think they've realized this though because their two new singles blow everything off Real out of the water.

Why do so many people do drum covers? There not hard plus why don't you be original and write your own songs?
@@scottyweimuller6152 because as a drummer its hard to just write your own music. You can and should mess around with your own sound and what not. But playing music covers is a way for artists to express their creative talent through PLAYING music. Not creating it. Its not really a hard concept...

The Word Alive has seriously been so blessed to have such amazing drummers backing them. Here's to Luke Holland being in it for the long haul so that his beats can be felt pounding through my car stereo for all to hear!

Its amazing seeing Luke from a teenage kid drumming in his basement to becoming possibly a legend in the drumming world, the style that he brought to the table is unbelievable, his work will carry on for a long time. All I have to say is keep on keeping' on!
Of all the shows I've been to since I was 13, Luke has the best stage presence of any drummer I have ever seen. The Word Alive has the like the gnarliest line-up of dudes in a band ever. These guys outshine anyone I have ever seen them tour with. TWA FOREVER!

I love hearing Luke's drumming he so technical and really adds to the word alive I think making him their drummer was one of the best decisions they could have made for the band.

when i first heard this band i knew something was special about the drumming. then i figured out who the drummer was and it all made sense. IMO one of the best drummers right now in rock music.

Luke my man, been watching you for years now - makes me so happy to see the progress you've made... I mean look at you now dude. Look at the crowd you're playing in front of. Probably not your largest crowd but god damn dude, I mean I play shows in front of 100 people and that makes me weak at the knees. Keep up the shit you do... you've lined up for yourself, possibly one of the most successful careers in drumming for the next coming years of your life.

i cant afford drum lessons and the only reason i have drums is because they were given to me free of charge and it may not be the best kit but it works, but watching Luke play inspires me to make the best out of it and still get is far into drumming as i can. Cant wait to hear more originals by you! this is my favorite of your videos.

So are you just afraid to do stick tricks for your own song? Or are you just still getting used to the feel of playing it live? The drumming is fantastic, of course, but it's just odd to see a video of you drumming and no sticks flying all over the place.
Higher stakes probably, you can't stop recording and start over if you drop a stick live.
Probably still nervous about doing it live. Even some of the most experience people mess up doing stick tricks. Shannon Lucas is one example I can think of that I've seen mess up, but his recovery was nice :p
basically what ***** and mrjusjump said, Playing a live show and not messing up is nerve racking in itself, He does stick tricks live in his other videos but not really risky ones.
***** Tell Cooper to knock it off hahah. Dude doesn't know when to stop throwing them, it's really annoying. He needs to work on his dynamics and chops instead of smokes and mirrors.
I don't think he's confident doing tricks live and i don't blame him. What if he messed up in the middle of the song cause of that.
