Mumbai Trans Harbor link | Connecting Mumbai and Navi Mumbai | April 2023 Progress

The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, also known as the Sewri-Nhava Sheva Trans Harbour Link, is an under-construction 21.8 km (13.5 mi) freeway, 6-lane grade road bridge, which will connect Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, its satellite city. When completed, it would be the longest sea bridge in India. The bridge will begin in Sewri, South Mumbai, will cross Thane Creek north of Elephanta Island and will terminate at Chirle, near Nhava Sheva.

I was working on this project for some time and a few noteworthy points are:
1. Longest Seabridge in India (21.8 km)
2. Longest Spans (180 m) - OSD (Orthotropic Steel Decks) tech used for the first time in India
3. Contributions to environmental improvement and safety at the backend
4. Improved connectivity MbPT and JNPT Ports, the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Alibaug and to South India
I may have missed a few points, but all in all, this bridge will boost the growth of Navi Mumbai's economy and act as a panacea for the current traffic and population-related problems.

There are fools making policies in India. Last year inko laga ki yahan metro bhi bna dete Hain par feasible studies showed ki this bridge won't take the load of metro hence the idea was shelved. Hope that NEO METRO will ply here.
