I luckily only bled for 5 days with my baby girl. I felt so lucky! I also had one tear and it healed in 10 days! I’m so thankful my physical recovery was quite quick, but I know I was SUPER fortunate for that. Shoutout to all the mommas with all different stories ❤️❤️❤️ You’re all doing a great job!
This is literally the most helpful video I’ve seen about giving birth and preparing for the aftermath. Thank you so much for being real about this! Nobody prepares you when you’re pregnant like this!
@@oliviazapoGreat Video! I have just received my sitz bath tub and a peri bottle because I'm suffering badly from bleeding hemorrhoids and I hope that this will help me out!!!! Thanks, Steve!!!
I’m 19 weeks with my 1st and I’m literally so clueless on everything. Postpartum care, labor and delivery care, newborn essentials, how to make a registry, names, literally EVERYTHING. All I need everyday is watch pregnancy/newborn/mom life related videos😂😭. This is so helpful, thank you!
Also I must add that being a first time mom and not having a single clue what to pack for the hospital you’ve made it so easy! Your videos saved me! ☺️
I’ve watched & read a ton on postpartum care! This is my first baby and your video has been the most helpful by far! It was so detailed and I felt like a friend was giving me the scoop! Thanks a bunch!!!
First time mommy and I’m 37 weeks!💕I had no idea I would need these postpartum things I’m so thankful that you shared this with us cause I’m so lost rn😅🤍
You got this mamas! I'm a FTM to a 4 week old. The biggest thing - make friends with your nurses. That will set the tone for your birthing and recovery. Stock up on several sizes of pads and get several packs of each. Also - always be prepared for the possibility of a c section. The recovery is a bit different than a vaginal birth. I was induced and ended up having a c section, but never prepared for that. Prepare for night sweats and put a towel down on your bed every night. Lastly - ice will become your friend, whether it be for edema in your legs, lady bit swelling, or back pain.
You’ve got this! I’m 38 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby and let me tell you I was terrified with my first pregnancy but it was totally okay! It’s not near as scary as you think! You’ve got this! Praying for you!💗
8MsSunshine the video is on point for care for you. You just love your baby and you’ll be okay. All babies are different and all families are different. You will be a great mommy!
Definitely gonna recommend this video to any first time mama, it's spot on! When I gave birth I had no freaking clue and was horrendously under prepared. I tore VERY badly too so my recovery was hard. Thankfully my hospital sent me home with almost everything I needed (my nurses felt so bad for me that they let me rob the place lol). I'd add a sitz bath to this list and soak in that thing at least twice a day. And don't be scared of pain meds and stool softeners. I felt so ashamed for some reason that I needed narcotics, but it was only for the first few weeks during the worst of the healing. And load UP on stool softeners cause the LAST thing in the world you wanna do is strain when pooping 😅
@@aunparalleled That's a great question! It actually promotes healing while also soothing (it is even recommended for other surgical wounds outside of postpartum care). Hope that helps!
@@amndurrani1602 just warm water. It's basically like soaking in a hot bathtub minus the tub. There are lots of products you can buy to add to it but plain warm water will do just fine.
My mom passed away in 2020 and now I’m on this pregnancy journey without her guidance but I appreciate you and all the other moms giving helpful information and knowledge🙏🏻🤍
I found this video so interesting! I live in England and because we have the NHS (public healthcare) we don’t really get any of the items that you described at the beginning of the video, you have to take eeeeverything with you. If you run out of pads, nappies/diapers, or formula (i.e the absolute basics) they will give you some but they will make sure your birth partner goes out and gets some more asap. Saying that, I know how expensive birth can be for you guys in the US so I’m very glad you get given lots of lovely things! I’m 8 weeks postpartum and have loved watching your videos throughout this whole process, especially when I felt so nervous about giving birth during the pandemic, you gave me a lot of hope and mama strength 💪🏼 💪🏼💪🏼
Lucy Lillian Henderson We get nothing but we pay nothing. It's 10k+ to give birth in the USA so your damn right they can give you some nappies and wipes!
Ain’t nothing free in the US! I’m a postpartum nurse and at our hospital we have to scan everything that we take out of the supply room to make sure they’re billed for it...
I'm due in 2 weeks and this has been so real and so helpful. I've watched literally every video you've made on newborn and postpartum essentials to try and feel as prepared as I can!
I am from India and none of the videos and other sites showed such comprehensive information about post partun stuff. Love u already. And wish u all the best for future.
I'm currently 27 weeks and I can not tell you how much all of your videos have helped!! Especially this one! I'm a first time mom so i'm a little lost 😂😂
I really love how frank and open you are. This video just broke so many postpartum "news" to me. No one around me mentioned contractions after birth as if they don't exist... Thanks!
FTM here and I’m gonna be induced in 2 days. I’m so nervous but I’m so thankful all you seasoned mommas post these videos on TH-cam. I don’t have to walk in to the hospital so clueless.
Thank you for not only showing us the items but how it’s used ! It was truly helpful especially being a first time mom and getting ready for labor ! 🙌🏽🙌🏽💖
I'm pregnant with baby #3 and I seriously found this video so helpful. It's been about 4 years since I've had a baby. I forgot all of the essentials needed for Momma!! Thank you so much! :)
When I had my first child none of the nurses or my doctor informed me that I wasn't supposed to wipe after birth. (I had to have stitches.) I had no idea about the Peri bottle until after my hospital stay... You would think them knowing I was a first time mom and it being a smaller hospital they would give you the COMPLETE run down on after care. They also didn't tell me that there was a bag full of after care things for me hanging in the bathroom. 🤦♀️ so I had no idea until after I got home and talked with my sister-in-law and she informed me normally they give you a bunch of stuff. So I called the hospital just a day or two after getting home asking if I could come get that bag or at least the pari bottle and they were not very accommodating.... needles to say, I did not go to that hospital for my second and now on the way third child.
Yes the always pull up undies are the best. With my daughter I did the uncomfortable pads this time around I bought a pack of those. I had a c section and was very comfortable on my cut.
I'm a mom of 6, soon to be 7, and I watched this mainly out of curiosity... I have to say, I can't think of anything I would add, outside of a Cake Maternity nursing bra, if you're above the standard DD size range or hate the seamless fabric like I do. All of my fave postpartum supplies got a mention, actually!! The Earth Mama spray, I discovered it has a nifty second use in that it clears up diaper rash wicked fast. This is pretty spot on for surviving the postpartum period comfortably... although I did use the ice packs much longer than you did, but didn't tear with any of mine. Instead it just felt like I'd been kicked in the nethers by an angry mule lol.
Your content is so helpful.I’m doing my checklist for the hospital bag.I try to get everything my partner will need during her hospital stay and postpartum to make her experience easier to handle.

I don’t ever plan on having children but I still like to watch these kind of videos. Giving birth is beautiful and brutal at the same time. It’s so fascinating what a women has to endure in order to bring a life into the world and also the after affects of bringing a new life into the world. The Belly Bandit brand post partum belly band when worn consistently post partum can really help with those post partum contractions during breastfeeding!! I try to tell all my pregnant friends about it! It has so many benefits!
I'm in my third trimester with my second child. This video is so helpful and gave me a lot more information about postpartum care. I only knew about the peri bottle and mesh underwear that the hospital provided me. A lot of women were giving birth around the same time I did with my son so the hospital ran out of dermoplast spray and couldn't provide me with anymore of the mesh underwear. I'm so excited to try out these products when I'm in postpartum with my daughter! Thank you so much for all of this information.
Wow why haven’t I found your channel sooner! Soon to be new mama here and already love the info you share! Will definitely be watching your channel more so I can gain more confidence in this new journey I’m gonna be embarking on in a month!
The ice blocks as you called them...are a God sent..never heard of them before, but after shopping on amazon I saw them and got them out of curiosity...they really helped with the csect pain and pelvic pain as well...

It’s so funny how everyone has different preferences! I just had my first baby in May and I loved the ice pack pads LOL I had a 3rd degree tear which was brutal but oddly enough did not bleed for very long! Defiantly watched your first postpartum video and stocked up just incase!
This was SO helpful!! Thank you!! And thank you so much for linking everything, you’re a goddess!! I’m going through this somewhat alone, as my partner hasn’t really seemed interested in any of it, and live in a city without any family or friends. People like you help so much to people like me, I really appreciate it!!
My baby boy is a few weeks behind arlo, although I had a c section, breastfeeding dident work :( and he was my 1st not my 2nd It’s just nice kind of knowing someone who is going threw /went threw the same things as you. Having a baby during this time was just so crazy. Your videos give me a little light in my day. THANK YOU!
I came across your channel before I had my son (baby #2) March 26, 2019 and the depends were a MUST for me. We are still on our breastfeeding journey thanks to your experience and helpful advice! Many thanks to you mama!
I watched your previous video where you recommended the Depends so I went and bought a pack. Now postpartum from a cesarean birth I’m so happy I did because these are perfect and they are comfy. Thank you!!!!🙏🏼
These videos have been sooo helpful these past few weeks. I am 9 months pregnant and have gotten so many tips from you and your channel. Thank you sooo much!
such a good and detailed video!!! thank you so much, im 40 weeks with my 3rd pregnancy, and this was just a really good reminder and perfect checklist for my aftercare!
Thank you for sharing; I really appreciate that you also clearly explained WHY you need the items, not just told us we should get them. This was very helpful and informative! 😊
Just had my son on July 12th! First time mama and you're right, there is so many things they never told us. The ice blocks suck but I was so swollen I used them for a week straight after birth.
I did so much research for my first kid that everything you have is exactly what I had and not perry bottle was probably the best thing that I invested in I did end up using the padcicles for a couple days after it just was soothing So I’m currently pregnant now I think I have everything and you just re-insured that everything I have was good 🥰
I’m pregnant w/ my first, & I’m only 13 weeks, but today was a whole add to cart kind of day! This video was very informative, thank you for sharing! It’s truly appreciated 🙏
My son is 6 weeks younger than Arlo.I started following you when I was 16 weeks pregnant. I’ve really enjoyed your channel and videos, especially this video!!! I invested in many of the items you swear by and SO DO I! The milky saver was a saver at the beginning of my postpartum. I just got my Kindred Bravely hand free pumping bra for when I go back to work. I also already owned a few nursing bras from target. You bought the same one I did! I was actually impressed I bought the items before you and then you did then you uploaded a video about them. Thank you so much Olivia for all the wonderful content!!
I am one of those moms that didn’t bleed much, the heavy flow only lasted 3-4 days max. I have piles of big pads and depends now that I didn’t even get to use. While I had a heavy flow I actually liked the mesh underwear from the hospital better than the depends, it felt more roomy and comfy.
Finding these videos so helpful. I watched multiple videos on hospital bags and postpartum care and this was the most useful. Tons of things I didn’t know or think of.
This was so helpful! I’m less than 4 weeks till my due date and about to do my last minute target run for items like these. Thank you for making this video!
Currently 6 months pregnant, slowing gathering the things ill need after 'Draven Roux' is born. This first im hearing of an ice block.🤯 im shook. So greatful for your videos 🥰
Because of your first postpartum video I learned about the milk catchers and they have legit changed my breastfeeding journey...because of them i have a freezer stash and the extra milk that leaks throughout the day and at feed I give my baby with a syringe to drink. I think this leaked milk has helped my baby when she was having trouble gaining weight. So thank you so much for tell us about this
I cant tell you how appreciative I am for this video! I've been there, done that a few times, but there is so many women becoming moms that do not know what post partum is like. I for one was clueless my first time around, so if I would have seen this video before having my first baby, it would have been very very helpful!!! Just subscribed! 🤗
thank you for this! i had my first baby girl via c section and i’m now having my boy next month vaginally totally different experiences and different care! thank you!
So informative and as many of these videos as I’ve watched at this point, you taught me so many new things! I’m so happy I discovered your channel! Thank you!

And thank you so much for linking everything, you’re a goddess!! I’m going through this somewhat alone, as my partner hasn’t really seemed interested in any of it, and live in a city without any family or friends. People like you help so much to people like me, I really appreciate it!!
Bless your heart. It must be very tough with no support system. I hope things are going well for you. 💕
My baby boy is a few weeks behind arlo, although I had a c section, breastfeeding dident work :( and he was my 1st not my 2nd
It’s just nice kind of knowing someone who is going threw /went threw the same things as you.
You are amazing and your energy is so radiant. A Queen. Thank you.
This video is bringing back postpartum memories!! Crazy enough I want to to this all over again. Lol
such a good and detailed video!!! thank you so much, im 40 weeks with my 3rd pregnancy, and this was just a really good reminder and perfect checklist for my aftercare!
Thank you for this! Im due at the end of August so I'm getting my little postpartum kit prepared and ready to go!
Yay! Congrats ! I’m due in October so next month lol. I’m watching videos to see what I really need to take to the hospital with me
This is super helpful!! Thank you for sharing!! Sad we don’t have Target in Canada anymore 😢 but will have to find some things online!
Same. I didnt even have a heavy flow .. It was just like a normal period. But i only bled for 2 weeks.
I've just ordered some Honey Pot pads! First successful pregnancy and loving stocking up on all these bits & pieces 😊
i somehow seemed to forget everything i needed with my first and wanted to be more prepared with my second. cant wait to try these! thanks, mama💛🙏🏼✨
Oh my gosh. That bra that’s for nursing and pumping is a GAME CHANGER. I have a toddler now but I’ll have to get that whenever we have baby #2.
Thanks for posting this! I watched your first one before my first. And now you’re second postpartum video before having my 2nd! So helpful!!
Amazing tips! I used them for the birth of my son and I can't thank you enough!
So thank you so much for tell us about this
11w3d today and have been watching videos and adding to my registry non-stop lol ty !💕
Thank you!
You’re so lucky! My hospital didn’t give me anything! But they where really kind while I was there.
Yes 👏 I love this. I’m pregnant with my 3rd baby but love to brush up on things that I may have forgotten. You covered everything PERFECTLY! Thank you 🙏 😁
Thank you for this 🥰💕 I’m 32 weeks pregnant, baby boy will be here so soon in 7 more weeks. Preparing now!
9 weeks and so excited 😊 thanks for this video
We are currently trying to conceive and all your baby/toddler/essential videos have been so helpful in planning for our next journey! That’s how I originally found your channel. I have several items in my amazon cart from you that hopefully soon I’ll be able to order!! Love all these uploads and honestly you’d make a great teacher. As always thanks for all the tips 🙌🏼
Wow you helped with a lot of things i didn’t know of. Specially the contractions part after birth. Lol thank you so much for this video. I am having my first baby in November. So I need to prep and learn everything I can 💕thank you!

Clover Fawn congrats!! I’m due the 15th with a boy 💕💕

This video was EXTREMELYYY helpful I’m 35 weeks pregnant super confused on to what I needed for postpartum essentials and this hit the spot Thankyou so muchhh!!!
Thank you for recommending Honey Pot!!
Thank you for being so informative a out products and being honest what work for you and what didn't. Yes everyone is different. I been watching you since the first few months of this year. Getting alot of ideals your thoughts on what to pack what not to pack for hospital, then what you would change 2nd time around. First time mom to be due about Aug 13th. So hanging in there. 😁 Thank you again for sharing so much ❤
Wow! First time mom here and this helped me so much! I was so bust preparing for her arrival I forgot I needed things.
This was really helpful! I was sort of leaning away from depends because I have sensitive skin but I think you’ve sold me to try it. I have all the other products you suggested too! I’m sure I’ll be over prepared lol but rather that than be uncomfortable. Thanks!
33 weeks with my second baby, starting to get restless! Can't wait to be not pregnant 😅
Great info! Thank you so much! I feel prepared now, in my first pregnancy, I was taken by surprise, the whole video was very informative and comforting ❤️
Thank you for making this so helpful!! Pls pls do placenta encapsulation ASAP please!
This came at the perfect time! I’m FTM 38 + 3 and I’m finishing up all my prepping! Made a few freezer meals (breakfast, dinner and dessert), have a little post partum kit in all the bathrooms and upping my red raspberry tea to keep hydrated!
If you want to induce labor i would highly recommend eating max of 7 dates a day...u can eat less and evening primrose vitamin
I’m 38 weeks too!!! Sending you all the love!! ❤️
Summer Tynell Have you had your baby yet??? I’m still bouncing on my exercise ball and sent my husband to the store for dates 🤣🤣
Manaar Zaki Ah I didn’t get evening primrose! Will Prime it to myself! Thanks for the reminder!
Yes to the spray bottle lol! Mine actually didn’t arrive in time because of backorders on Amazon (my baby girl came April 15) but it was so helpful in the hospital - I should’ve just brought it back with me lol
Second time mama here and I love everything about this video!
Thank you so much for this video. I’m due with my first baby in about 4.5 weeks, or less! I’ve watched several of your postpartum & what to pack in your hospital bag videos. They’re super helpful/informative! Watching this video reminded me that I need to pack a few more things & gather up some essential for postpartum.
Thank you for the tips I wished I watched your videos while I was pregnant. I literally had to learn on my own about pp ,I loved the ice blocks and the mesh underwear especially while my family and I were in the NICU
Ladies Target also sells the witch hazel pads 👍🏼
First time mom here, this was extremely valuable information lol. Thank you!
I'm 34 weeks (FTM)and this video was so helpful !🥰
