You did a good job on this. You wrote good copy and edited it well. My one suggestion for the future is when you're doing the voice-over recording, try not to speak so fast. Even a normal speaking voice can be tough to follow when there are images flashing by and lots of data to absorb. So yeah, remember to speak a little more slowly and deliberately, with good pronunciation. Anyway, a good video! I'll admit I didn't know enough about the '05 Sox despite being a big fan of Buehrle.

@Justin Ward A lot of people care. There were 1.7 million people at the Championship parade. Cubs had around 2.5 Million.....not much of a difference for a team that's supposedly 100x cooler than the Sox.

As a Cardinals fan, I feel that a World Series between the White Sox and Cubs is needed so the Sox can remind everyone who ended their curse first and more. I was personally happy for ya'll when you won it all in '05 (also because the Astros beat my Cardinals to face y'all). And it made me feel a bit sad when the Cubs won (I was happy they ended their curse despite the Cubs being a divisional rival) because it overshadowed your win drastically.

I just watched the 2018 World Series film and they said that before Muncy’s walk off homer in the World Series the last walk off homer in the World Series was the Kirk Gibson home run. How do you forget the joe carter home run,Kirby’s home run in game 6,the Scott podsednik home run and etc.

I'm a Cubs fan, but I honestly am curious as to why so many people forget about 2005. Lots of people argue the media constantly sucks up to the Cubs, which I agree to a certain extent, but the Mets get remembered for 1969 and 1986. The only things I can say why Boston's 2004 championship is remembered better is their 3-0 series comeback against the Yankees and they've been close a lot.

It’s depressing how White Sox have been so bad lately that they have to call every cubs fan a bandwagon. I was born a Cubs fan in a Cubs fan family. I was 5 when I started watching during 2008. I had my share of 90-100+ seasons. Not as much as my dad who listened to them on the radio every day and tries to watch every game. But I’ve seen the disappointment and I loved them through it. Pisses me off how jealous people are and call “bandwagon” it’s been 3 years, the bandwagons are gone.

I'm glad a video like this exist. More people need to remember the 2005 Chicago White Sox.
Probably the most disrespected underrated champions in sports history. Not just baseball, ALL OF SPORTS. They weren't just some random team that got hot in the playoffs. They had the AL's best record and were 1 game from the leagues best record. This team was a for real. It was crazy how fast this championship team became an after thought. Most people also forget this team was too under a long "curse". FOX and ESPN talked about the Curse of the Bambino and Billy Goat Curse all the time but the Black Sox Curse never got as much publicity. It was probably brought up once during the 2005 World Series.
The only reason I can see, despite how good of a team they were, they never had a stand out player that was well known nationally. I don't like that being the reason for why they got forgotten so fast but it's all I can come up with.

Greatest playoff run in baseball history. Memories seared in my brain to this day include El Duque getting out of that bases loaded jam in Boston, A.J.'s dropped 3rd strike play(I was standing in the concourse behind home plate next to Nancy Faust's booth so could see the actual play live and the replays on the TV in Nancy's booth), Konerko's grand slam, Pod's walk-off, Blum's homer in the 14th, Buehrle's save and Uribe's 2 defensive plays to end it all(if Uribe's name was Jeter those plays would be shown yearly on any countdown to the World Series TV show).

I remember watching Ken Burns 10th Inning. It was the last part of a Baseball series. Each episode went over a portion of MLB history. In the 10th Inning he went through 1994-2009. They went extensively over the Red Sox winning the 2004 World Series as well as the 2003 loss to the Yankees. Then they kind of brushed over the fact that the White Sox won the next year and moved on. I couldn't believe it. They overcame a curse too and it was the very next year.

Yep. You know, during Game 2, they showed a couple of shots of two older ladies who both had signs saying, "I waited 93 years for this." I remember one of them just being as thrilled as a kid when Konerko hit the grand slam. I wonder how much longer both of them lived after seeing this. It would be interesting, I think...

I was born and raised a cubs fan; I never understood the hatred Sox fans had for us until a snippet I saw a few years ago. A fan was excited for his morning drive into work so he could listen to sports radio and hear how his team won it all the night before... except they blew past it and focused on how the city would be reacting if the Cubs won. It kinda made me stop and think how shitty that was.
This video is the second instance that justifies the bitterness the Sox have for us. If the shoe was on the other foot, I'd absolutely feel the same. It's an injustice really, but I have nothing else really to say other than I finally understand why that hatred exists. Anyways, great video, as per usual.

That was an absolutely incredible team. Part of the reason they might not be remembered is for a slump during the pennant run. They had been on a pace to win well over 100 for most of the season until they had to wake up to hold off the charging Indians, and still ended up winning 99. Right after they won it all in game 4, and just before they went off the air, Peter Gammons was asked how this team compares historically and he said they should be ranked up with the very best. One thing about Chicago teams: when they finally do win championships they don't mess around. Maybe its the pent up frustration of so many losing seasons breaking through.

Being the big Wheel of Fortune fan that I am, within weeks of omitting the White Sox from that crossword puzzle, they did make up for it with a puzzle solely dedicated to the White Sox and their fans such as myself. The category was People, and the answer was "Chicago White Sox Fans." Seeing that puzzle put a huge smile on my face, and I even told a fellow online Sox fan about it.
The 2005 White Sox truly deserved to win the World Series. Their secrets included having no pressure, not setting too many goals for themselves, and, most importantly, just simply having a good time. Despite baseball being a business, they treated it the way it's supposed to be treated.
With all that said, it's a shame to know that the White Sox have not only been forgotten, but they've also been underestimated, underappreciated, and even antagonized, especially when compared to their crosstown rivals.
