In this video I restore my sons old hatchet which has been "the axe" for him in many years. I really enjoyed restoring and rebuilding he's axe. Please leave your comment below. Don’t forget to watch my video of the “machete that turns into a Japanese kitchen knife: th-cam.com/video/0WlvIf5BFHk/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching - Martin :)
The shape changes you made created a lovely profile and the hint of red was cool. At first i was surprised (and a touch dismayed) that you weren't making a new handle, but i fully admit that you were right. Under the knicks and chips and ugly barcode, there was some beautiful wood just waiting to be released. Nice job.
I tried to re-to my older brothers Boy Scout axe. He’s passed now and I wanted to keep his memory alive. I failed miserably, but your video gave me hope. I don’t have all your beautiful equipment, but I have a desire. Thanks again. By the way I’m not Betty that’s my wife, I’m Frank from the U.P. Michigan
Imagine if you re this guy , you go to a store to buy something you find quite similar what you re looking for and you buy it not even looking for the perfect version cause you can make it perfect ! Awesome video , so satisfying to watch !
The old hatchet still has the factory grind and bar code on the handle. It looks like he bought a marbles hatchet off of Amazon prime last week and soaked it over night in muratic acid.
Martin, so much fun watching you turn something as simple as a hatchet into not only a functional tool, but something beautiful. I've wondered what your magic blue or green solutions were, but figured they were some type of glycerin product and I'm sure that axe handle will never come loose while using it. 👍
@@AwesomeRestorations I'd sure be glad to get a gift like that! I restored a pair of old scissors yesterday. This was my first restoration. The scissors work like a charm, and this seems like a fun hobby!

i have just found another of your video's wow i thought i had seen them all , this was brilliant awesome and fantastic , your a star my friend , im so so impressed .
I can imagine your grandson watching his fatheras he restores this same hatchet_telling the boy that you restored it first, and the child feeling proud of his heritage.
Personally, I LOVE LOVE LOVE when you add laser etching. The butcher knife with the bull "tripas" was awesome and amazing, as was the Viking axe with the celtic engraving. Yod really DO Awesome Restorations!
There is so much BS and drama in the world today on social networking, with the hate, pandemic and political rhetoric... and then there is your channel. Brother, I love your channel. Your restorations are kick ass and a moment to reflect on creating and not destroying. The antique Zippos are the best, keep up the good work. . Sköl my friend!
Ну и чего там замечательного? Взяли в магазине новый топор, опустили в кислоту и отреставрировали. В видео ручка от топора совершенно новая и даже чёткая надпись на ней видна. И, о боже, даже лак не облупился от старости. Дурят дураков.
I have the same dremel this guy has. Must say that I cant do the things with it he can. Not even close. Guess thats the difference between an old back yard hack like me and an artist. Well done.
I have been watching restoration videos of all kinds everyday for over a year. I believe this is the first time I have seen the handle restore as well. Good job. Subscribed.
While really enjoy seeing such things brought to a very shiny mirror finish, I also think it will never be used again for a typical ax. It now looks like a mere display piece. And that's okay as well. However, unless you coat the new mirror surface, it will rust again... Thumbs Up!
This hatchet has red bottoms 🤣🤣😅. This was a great job💯🔥. I love all of the videos with the blades, I actually enjoy the grinding, polishing and even the engraving 😄

Whether he bought it or not you have to agree the axe at the end looked beautiful

Yeah its big brain time
Everyone after that TH-cam money, regardless how dumb they can be and still be successful.
He thinks that we are dummies 😤
But he didn’t say it’s old
@@rahminayir1519 The title is literally "old hachet restoration" (not that it matters or I actually care)
