T-850 and i really enjoy watching you restoring things it's so satisfying to watch something broken and nearly destroyed gets restored to it's former glory
He's very thoughtful about things like that.I like to see TH-camrs making a point to use proper protective gear,there are too many viewers-and TH-camrs!- who don't take those precautions.
There is something very relaxing about watching your videos. I think it's the way you take your time, and show every detail and process of your work. Outstanding work as always!

Feeling a little low today, watched another of your amazing restorations was just what I needed as a pick me up, I love the way you tackle each project with the utmost care and attention to produce a work of art from salvaged items. 👌
This is a pure cosmetic restoration i dont think those edges would last a couple of solid strikes not to mention that crack but aestethically it looks very nice
@@gregsoad5031 he didn't temper the edge. After clenching in water it's going to be incredibly brittle. You have to heat it about 450° f depending on the steel to take some of the stress out and make it more durable
@@gregsoad5031 also mig wire isnt good at hardening. As the steel used for the head is much much harder, so even with proper hardening/tempering the edges that were welded wiill still be considerable soft. Would have been better off just grinding off the chipped edges and letting it sit in evap-o-rust for a few days to find out where the hardening line was and how much he has to work with.

Oh my god I'm barely one and half minutes into the first video I've seen of you and I'm filled with indescribable joy. Not only was there no long intro but I LOVE not being blinded by the welding!!I love these kinds of videos but they all hurt my eyes from the welding.

Интересно а все кто пишут отличная реставрация знают что Сварочная проволока, и сталь топора это разные марки? И сварочная проволока это не закаляемая сталь. Она всегда будет мягкой и не будет держать заточку.. Так что топору только внешний вид целого предали. А пользоваться им будет невозможно.. При первом ударе кромка замнеться.
Ну если не считать то что он кромку наплавил из не закаляемой стали и теперь она не держит заточку и вообще мягкая. это даже по звуку обработки слышно.. Это я вам как профессиональный сварщик говорю. Так что это теперь максимум экспонат на стену..
The restoration job looks great, but I'd be interested in seeing how well those edges hold up. I would think any solder there would break away after some use.

Да вообще много странного.... Во первых ржавчина равномерная, нет глубокой. Наваривать лезвие, тоже интересно чем он это делал, а кромка потом закалится? Шов обычно открывают для заварки... Сначала впоямую в тисках зажимает, делач вмятины, потом вышлифовывает до состояния муха не сидела.... Можно еще много до чего докапываться... А видеоряд красивый... Не поспоришь
I love axes, especially double-headed ones. They remind me of vikings! Also I thought it was cool how you put a gray spot over the bright sparks to block them!
As far as I know only Americans use double headed axes. My family has for generations worked in the Swedish forests around Uppland cutting wood and making charcoal for the ore industry back in the days and I have never heard of anyone using one for real. I agree they look cool but as a tool they are worse than a singel edged one.

Did anyone else think the damage was staged? The colors on the rust looked like spray paint. When he sandblasted that off, it looked like a brand new axe with some chips in the blade. I'm not denying that it's an entertaining video, or that he does quality work. I'm just saying the damage was done on purpose.
Yes I chose the Bear! I heated my home with hand split hardwood for 20 years and would have loved an axe with my totem engraved on it! Your channel is magnificent, many try to copy your style but they always fall short. Keep up the AWESOME work! 👍
I worked for a guy like you as a burn table operator. He was a true artist, as are you. The sticker in the back window of his Ford read just weld it. You guys don't know what an obstacle is. Just opportunities. It's a pleasure to watch you work.
Finally, a welder who blocks out the white hot welding spots so my precious eyes don’t get burned watching a TH-cam video those screens can be surprisingly bright

In Sweden, this brand is popular for gifts to hunters, woodsmen, hikers or just all around sort of outdoorsy kind of people. Like 80 % of the population 😂

the T-850 has an armored endo skeleton. by specs that looks far more like the original t-800 as seen in t-2.

It looks like real oxidation to me. After it's removed, the pitting in the exposed metal looks corrosion-induced.
I've been chopping wood with two Gransfor Bruk axes for decades. Very nice to see this one put back into service.
