I thought from the title it was going to show someone actually winding by hand - like I did back in the day with slot car armatures, and as top level group 7 and eurosport slot car armatures are still done today...

In most DC motors, the field windings are on posts in the housing. The loops are wound on a bobbin, taped into shape, and removed from the bobbin. They are then pressed into the groove in the housing they'll reside in, and the core facing is screwed/riveted in place to retain them.
