I started my job less than two months ago. I had to take a week off for the flu, a week off for Covid and now my dads dying and they’ve given me two weeks. All this in the span of about 2 months.. most places would’ve called me a liability and let me go. Not my job. I won’t say where I work, but they’ve been completely kind, caring, and understanding. They told me not to worry about things on that end. To just be with my dad and take control of my mental state through this difficult time. So I’m thankful for once of my job. They actually want me there and care about me as a person. Which I know, that’s EXTREMELY rare in the job world.

My gf is polish and we recently spent some time in Poland and with her family during Christmas. Unfortunately there is a lot of poverty in Poland (things seem to be improving a lot now) so a lot of people have to work hard from a young age. When my gf moved over to the UK she struggled to understand a lot of things, why people drink alcohol every weekend, why people eat so much junk food and why there are not a lot of catholics. She was brought up being trained as the woman of the house since she was 7 and only until now I’ve been able to show her a lot of stuff she missed out on as a kid and it sometimes brings a tear. I’m not saying this is the lifestyle of every polish native because that’s not true but one thing is for sure, most of them have been brought up hard working and deserve a lot more than what some of them get when they move to western countries. Poland is a beautiful country and has some very interesting people living in it. And learning the polish language isn’t too difficult either.

If you want to run a striving business and continue to profit you must take care of your family!
Your family is your dedicated employees who’s lives are dedicated to work and make a living to survive.
They need you and you need them.
Much respect for this successful boss!!

I like this show because, at the end of the day, it demonstrates that often, in life, all it takes to overcome the seemingly insurmountable obstacles of "regular people" is a wealthy person who is not a total douche and decides to give, instead of just taking (even though they've taken more than enough, already).

I work hard everyday for little pay thinking it's all worth it as long as I have my family and can support them. I do realize how blessed that makes me but seeing this made me cry. Good on this boss.
