Brilliant, your guidance gave me the confidence to have a go. I undid the back seat and moved to one side to get clear access with a multi-tool cutter to save having to remove the bolt that’s at risk of shearing. Glad to say all went well. Big thanks to you.
@@Love500 and so far so good, the battery warn light hasn’t come back: took the blue & me out permanently. Also put in a secondary earth strap. Next up is a proxy align. Thank you.
Fantastic video Paul. I recently had my odo start flashing and I would have lost my mind if not for your videos. One of note is the North American cars have the blue & me box underneath the glove box.
Yeah, so do the European ones. It seems that the left hand drive ones do. When I say European I mean continental Europe which are not right hand drive.
Paul That was a very good video helping g and showing how to change a blue and me unit your self with basic tools again saving money on a garage bills one tip Paul if you don't have a rivet gun you could use self taping screws then you would have no trouble next time if you need to take out the unit again 😊😊😊 Phil in stoke
Hi bud, I was one of those that removed the bluetooth module without drilling the rivets, I did comment on your older helpful video where you discussed the module replacement. I just used a palm-sized 1/4" ratchet, no extension, regular socket. Honestly it was no problem. My only caveat was that it was on a Ford Ka but I believe the setup/access is exactly the same on the 500. I did also use a mechanics 'mirror on a stick' just to get my bearings and see exactly where the bolts were located because you're doing it blind, and the rest was done by feel. Thanks for all your vids though, you have helped me out a bunch with my Ka being the same car for just about most things mechanical! All the best mate.
Is there a way to use multiecuscan to "disable" the blue & me module (say all I want is the odo to stop blinking)? I think it would be an amazing video idea! Do a blue & me delete (hardware/software) and fit an aftermarket stereo getting rid of the blink once and for all!
Nope, you can't do that. If only it was that simple. You have to disconnect it at the module first, then do a proxy alignment. That then deletes it. It can be readied at any time by reconnecting it and doing a proxy alignment again (unless its broken of course).
@@Love500 You're 1000% correct. I went and unplugged the module (under glove box still a pain), got someone to proxy align it and boom! no more flashing odo!
Hallo Auke, Zeg je nou dat de Blue and Me module bij een cabrio onder het handschoenenkastje is ? Kon het niet vinden achter het paneel achter bestuurdersstoel
That trim can separate at the front when you pull it off as it's actually a two piece that is glued so if you don't need to chance doing that, why do it.

@@geralddavison6307 I think removing that bolt puts a lot of people off doing it so it’s a good work around. Glad it helped.

@@yueli93 you don’t have to disconnect it but if it’s playing up then I would especially as it might start draining the battery at some point.

Where or who repairs the blue and me unit.
I do. It's in the video. Email me paul@love500.co.uk for a repair form.
Maybe mention that for the c models the module is not in this part of the car. It is under the glove box.

16mm seat bolts? 1 more screw to remove the kick trim be easier.

Off topic but does anyone know if door cards from a 2013 fiat 500 abarth will fit a 2016 fiat abarth?
