I forgot how much I like the noise of a floppy drive. That's ASMR for geeks :)

Tape to go from HD to DD and drilling a hole on DD that supported it to get HD. Oh yeah, good times 🥳🎉

indeed... it's hardly worth the effort nowadays though :)

HD floppy on Amiga IS possible BUT! you need to add quite alot of electronics as yop need to HALVE the motorspeed doing this.. (as paula cannot cope with the DOUBLE speed that PC HD does)
I have a HD floppy in my 1200. useful? nah! :)

mind you what's "useful" about any of this stuff I suppose :D :D
Still the use of floppies nowdays is mostly restricted to reading old floppies for salvaging purposes really.
That or the odd nostalgic urge to load a game for the sound of the drive ... until you realize swapping floppies in a real pain and you revert back to your gotek or HD

I could never get HD discs to write reliably on my Amiga 500, and after much googling I read people saying that HD discs need a different strength write signal, which made sense. But maybe it's just the notch detector ruining everything?

different motorspeed etc... it's possible for the kick of it but the return on the effort is minimal .
