The way i did some eprom chips like this was : I first put the chip on a socket ,then i inserted the legs and soldered them on the chip and in the socket. and then i put the socket inside a socket on the pcb. It gets a bit higher than the other chips but if space is not a problem then it is way more supported and also can be removed more easily in the future
yeah I did think about doing sth like that since I was going to put the ic on a socket. there's a couple of articles online describing how to do it but a mate ended up sending me the adapter so why not use it. think the adapter is about the same height using that two sockets solution
Jamais vu de réparation de package de ce genre ! Quel boulot pour sauver un 68000 ! Bravo !
Wow, now that's a rescue. Interesting to see that beige returning too in places.
Great idea to get a Paula and CIA with broken legs and a broken case ❤
@@edlowry1 yeah we'll see what happens. going to try to source all broken parts for it if I can . might be a long project :)
The Frankenmiga ..... It's Alive!!
That's amazing Ollie, well done. I've an EEPROM with a torn off leg, I might give that a go.
yeah eproms are a good one to practice on before trying this on a rare custom. or a few dead ICs

Nice ❤ good work!
dude you are awesome! bravo!
The mechanic that worked on this clearly used the wrong sized spanner...
haha yeah and a hammer to straighten legs. I'm just surprised they're still all working
