When I think that I seen this movie almost every night 17 years ago on DVD with my parents's 20 inch (4/3) tv, plugged into a stereo hi-fi and now I get the chance to see it on my home cinema on 4k hdr and atmos... I find back my teen smile. 😁 Thanks for the review, Shane.
I never got the Blu-rays because I had the perfectly fine HD-DVD’s but since they only have DTS 1.5mbps and are VC-1 1080 smoothies, maybe it’s time I upgraded!
I just got this on a prime day deal and it's better than the bluray and to my ears I'm glad the balanced the audio mix more as the audio mix on the regular bluray was ear piercing loud
on this 4k relase the skies aren't PINK anymore which is good but what I hate is the Brian's eclipse looks more eellowish than the green on the old print
I hope the new videogame consoles have 4K so I can watch this. Hopefully 4K is less expensive by 2020 and that way I can finish the collection from owning this on DVD, Blu-Ray, and now 4k!
I'm a fan of the franchise and own the blu-ray (after upgrading from the hd-dvd). Worth it to upgrade? Might have to wait for a sale. The Fate of the Furious is my favorite 4K blu-ray to show off my TVs.
After watching several of your videos and a few other people's videos I'm starting to think I'll just stick with 1080P and upscale to 4K. It seems to me the 4K disc can be a 50/50 split and to me it's just better just to upscale.
Do some 4K blu-ray players have better image quality than others? I have a samsung 4K player but it doesn’t really show that much of a difference so I’m in the market for a pricier player
@@matthewkaptena9512 yes definitely 💯 especially now that I have an OLED, the Panasonic UB820 has tremendous tone mapping for regular HDR10 blu-rays so the difference really was worth the upgrade
So far, none of the currently released Fast and Furious movies have had true, native 4K DI transfers, but Fate looked great even with a 2K DI. I expect Tokyo Drift to look great with nice HDR due to the florescent lights in the movie.

I haven't watched the original in years! I may need to get this 4K.

Do 2Fast 2Furious The Fast And The Furious Tokyo Drift 4k Review
Its a far more pleasing upgrade from the 1080p. I couldn't be more satisfied with the double dip purchase.
Picking up all three on Monday , Great review thanks .
I never owned this one on Blu Ray, so I'll be picking this up, along with Tokyo Drift.
Great video, still waiting for part 2,3,4 and 5 in 4k hdr got the restcof them
I might have to marathon the Fast and the Furious series on 4K one day. ☺
ColonielLizardT4 not really think fast five isn’t available
@@vGREENARROWv Parts 4 and 5 are the only two films in the series that haven't gotten 4K treatment yet.
ColonielLizardT4 Me too
Most of them are upscale
I watched this movie on 4k dolby vision. On my LG c1 it looks razer sharp
Just picked this up. Can’t wait to see how much better it looks than the blu ray
it’s awesome eh?!
Blu ray looks better and natural
@branscombe_ Nope, it looks somone tweak the contrast and they use ai to make Paul walkers eyes cobalt blues.. his eyes were actually hazel
@@ILoveTheAllCreator I disagree
@@cali_scruff1697I am curious, how come?
Sweet. They don't drop here in the UK until next Monday but I have all 3 on pre-order. I want 4-5 to be released by next summer at least!

Paul's eyes in this version popped a lot more than in the blu ray. Looked like a white walker lol
Ironically, the TV Airings/Netflix version of this film uses a 1:78.1 open matte aspect ratio.
Awesome movie and awesome review !!
the pink hue from the bd is gone, like the pink skies in 2nd half
Well done review. Thanks! Subbed
With these 4K releases, the digital copy will also be in 4K or just HD?
Great review I may pick this up.
Still not sure if I should upgrade from blu-ray to 4K. May wait until this hits a lower price point. Appreciate the honest review.
It's propably not worth it because they weren't shot in 4k but wait for price drop like you said
This movie and its franchise have more or less changed the way the film industry thinks about sequels!
Can you review the 4K Blu-ray of the peanuts holiday collection?

Wait for sale on 4k blu rays too expensive

I have a few top lists for audio and video. Those are worth the upgrade. It's helps to have a quality setup as well.
Have this and no 2 and 3 waiting for your views 3 looks the best and sounds awesome.
I got the HD-DVD, should I upgrade?

Where is Fast Five? That's what I want. It keeps getting delayed. It's my favorite in the series.
EXACTLY FAM
It better have the best transfer out of the entire franchise at this point

@@CorruptionDee yes it does. And no 5 is also on its way.
Me 2
nice to see the point break remake make it to 4k..because that's all this film is
I won't buy a blu ray/4k blu ray older than 2010.
All these old movies are JUST PORTED CASH GRABS.
