@@grimmo79 I know they give some completely unsatisfactory throw away line about Mr Nobody faking his death but they don’t bother to explain how they got Han out of that car in front of multiple witnesses. We’re just supposed to accept “oh they faked it. Move on. Nothing to see here”

I'm gonna have to agree with you, Fast Five is the best film in the franchise by a good bit. But I will say my favorite sequence in the entire franchise is the flip car chase in 6. Because it's so creative, so wild, yet still grounded in reality to a degree.
I think before Paul walker passed away he was a very underrated actor

The only aspect about the finale to fast 5 that bothered me was the cars they used. The actual sequence of how the vault bashed through buildings and was throwing their cars around actually felt pretty grounded. But if they were using something made for towing a lot of weight, like a modified pair of ram trucks or something, the scene would have been even better imo. That would have gotten rid of the biggest issue with that scene for me, which is the second you try to tow something that heavy with a muscle car, your engine/transmission is going to explode.
Agree and the scene where they take out that whole bank with the vault in a turn. Lmfao

Han didn't originally come from Tokyo Drift but was actually introduced in a 2002 film called Better Luck Tomorrow which was released a year before 2 Fast 2 Furious. Justin Lin, who directed Tokyo Drift and has worked on the other films, directed this movie. While making Tokyo Drift, he wanted an Asian character and decided to use Han, his character from Better Luck Tomorrow, who ended up being a fan favorite so they brought him back for more. Justin said Better Luck Tomorrow is Han's origin story and there's a whole thing in Fast Five where Giselle mentions he's always eating some kind of snack food as a constant need to occupy his hands due to being a former smoker. This is actually an easter egg reference to Han being a smoker in Better Luck Tomorrow.
Fast Five is so dang good.
I think Furious 6 is the best of the franchise personally. It has the best over the top action sequences and character moments in the franchise. Fast Five is nearly tied. However, controversial comment time but I actually like F8 better than F7. I never really liked F7 except for the ending.
I can definitely agree on the 9th movie being last. Only thing is I would rank it last for different reasons. The ridiculous action isn't really the movie's problem for me. It's everything else. Tej and Ramsey suddenly picking on Roman, although the three were a trio at the end of 8. Then you got that they are constantly bouncing around the world. Every other scene there are somewhere new. The flashbacks slow down the pacing. John Cena being Dom's brother is 50/50. The McGuffin isn't all that interesting like previous movies. Takes forever to get going. All the previous movies and 10 got to the point immediately and things were good to go and were entertaining. 9 though about an hour in I was like "where is this movie going?" The list goes on for problems. The only issue I had with the action was that with me having issues with everything else, it led to the action not being all that exciting. But I could give the ridiculousness of the action a pass. With all the other issues I had, doing something like the whole Tarzan swing with the car I could give a pass to and accept it. So yeah. 9 definitely deserves last place. The rest, I'm fine on agreeing to disagree. We are all going to have our separate opinions on what Fast & Furious movies we like and dislike.

The death at the end of Fast X was the most unnecessary thing, I mean Dom can survive anything, especially when he's in a car

Great review, Fast five is definitely my favorite, and I'm sure it will remain my favorite in this series, but I do get enjoyment out of all of them.

While rewatching these recently, I really enjoyed Fast & Furious from 2009, more than I've ever had before. Maybe my expectations were so low because of F9 The Fast Saga, but I loved Fast X, 6 thru 2 on ranking, could completely change on the next rewatch. As last ranking, I had Fast & Furious 6 as my favorite. I like that you show 4 some love. Was really looking forward to seeing this updated ranking from you!

Jason Momoa just brings his natural charisma no matter what he does, honestly.
Yeah, like, I thought Shaw would never be topped in this franchise but Dante kicks his ass in terms of quality.

My personal favorite is Tokyo drift. Love the aesthetic and coolness to it: it’s the only fast and furious movie that I truly grew up with.

I saw the first movie in the theater when it came out and nothing since, but here I am watching the ranking going, "yeah, man, same."
They really should have left the series after 7. The only reason that was so "successful" was because of Paul Walker's untimely and tragic death. To me, continuing with the franchise because they saw $$ is like giving Paul the finger. Honestly, I think it's sickening.

i have been a "CAR GUY," and the movies that have been made, every one is on my shelf, and still searching for the next one or the unseen one, these movies for me are the "ARK OF THE COVENANT", in car movies, not even Smokey and the Bandit movies, and there really is only ONE good one, can compare, car chases in a movie are fine, but when they make the vehicle as part of the movie, like Herbie being a vehicular character, and my first favorite as a kid growing up, so yeah keep bringing out these kind of movies, "NEED FOR SPEED" even got my money, there are more but i would have to make my own list....i have been through four different vehicles while these movies have been out.
Honestly fast five was one of best and perfect finale to the franchise Great and more somewhat grounded action, good emotional depth between characters you care about and the ending was perfect for all the characters and I don’t get why people think 7 Is so good like I genuinely think people think it’s the best just because paul and the amazing tribute but otherwise the movie was alright and pretty overrated to me honestly

11. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift - this movie is The Incredible Hulk of the F&F franchise. I always have a good time rewatching it, but when I'm in the mood for a F&F movie, I never throw this one on.
There is a big gap between my no. 11 and my number 10. All of the following ones I rewatch at least once a year

11. Tokyo Drift (2006)--just never enjoyed this one at all.
Tokyo Drift will always be my favorite. F&F was what gave me my love of cars and motorsports, and Tokyo Drift went straight to the car scene and DRIFTING. OG comes second for me. Any other ones pretty much go in any order. Everything past 5 for me I would never watch again to be honest, but I'll still see every single one that comes out.

I have to say! I’m with you on Fast 5! I’ve jus recently re watched the WHOLE franchise again - in chronological order.. I have too🤣🤦🏽♂️‼️ Anyway, fast 5 can be watched as stand alone action movie! As in 🤔.. “let’s watch an ACTION movie.. 🤩 yeah, FAST 5!”
The ONLY thing Is the “Safe Chase” it’s as if MICHAEL BAY stepped in just for that sequence! 🤣 don’t get it twisted, I do like a BAY Movie.. But ya kno what I’m sayin!
