He was talking to Neal Moritz about what his next project would be after The Skulls and Neal informed him about a script in the works and Paul loved it because of the undercover cop storyline.

The vault drag scene is explained by the stunt coordinator on a WIRED or Vanity channel. The truck vault was used, but a lot of it was an actual full scale heavy vault, and a lighter one to allow it to roll. They used a different type of metal for the bottom to allow it to create sparks as it drags across the ground.

None of the racing or driving scenes from Tokyo Drift actually took place in Tokyo. They were all filmed in Los Angeles or New York. This is very easily noted based on the painting on the streets. Also, in Japan, you can't shut down major streets like that for a movie.

Great video. lots of cool stuff I didnt know! Being "old school" about American "muscle cars", I wasnt a fan of the original movie the 1st time I saw it. But over the years, it grew into a another form of "old school" in it's own right. While I still dont care for many of the outlandish "physics and gravity defying" scenes, Ive become a huge fan of the "spirit" of the movies, and have come to embrace them as amongst my all time favorites. Especially the 1st one, which inspired a whole new generation of people who, like me, just love cars. R.I.P. Paul, I miss you.
