Going to Paris for the FIRST time in June 2023 to celebrate our thirtieth anniversary. Just wanted to say that you both will go with us as our guides. Your videos have been invaluable and we feel completely comfortable visiting Paris with your tutorials. Thank you for your love of Paris, travel, and the inspiration to keep exploring our world.
I’ve been to Paris twice. Wished I’ve known about your channel back then. Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos. You do such an amazing job! Keep up the great work. 🌹
We visited Le Procope and it was wonderful. And we definitely saved some $$. The ambiance, history, and food was wonderful. We brought our 2 young children with us and the staff treated them like they were paying the bill!
I think I’ve already said it on another interview but your channel is my favorite when it comes to Paris, I know here I can find the answer to all of my questions! I am currently preparing for my 5th visit of the city and wanted to explore more of the fine dining options and your video gave me all the info I needed!! Thanks a lot and keep up the good work!
We’re celebrating our 25th anniversary in Paris. I’d love to dine at ANY of these, but L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon has been on our list for a few years now, since Anthony Bourdain ate there several years before his own passing. With over 30 Michelin stars under his belt worldwide-how could I not want to eat there!?The pommes purée are legendary in the culinary world. RIP Chef Robuchon(2018).
Lunchtime is the best time to go to any Michelin starred restaurant as they will usually offer set price (prix fixe) menus (formules) or menu degustations which are significantly cheaper than a la carte in the evening. Oh and the wine list is la carte des vins. The most important phrase to know in restaurant French 🇫🇷!!!
I am a big fan of your sight and I enjoy the A-Z of Paris that you expertly present. I must take exception with the following three fine dining restaurants that are not in your top ten. First, Le Cinq, and imho, the finest three star in Paris. Second is another three star, Ledoyen. And third is a two star, Les Ambassadeurs. We have dined at all three and of course agree with the Michelin ratings. Someone else may wonder where Le Taillavent is with two stars. We have not dined there but it is certainly considered an institution. Thanks for listening and keep em coming!
I would love to take you to all of these types of restaurant’s and fine dine you in style my special, wonderful cookie. I was thinking of going over there on our honeymoon and if it comes down to it - I’ll pay the extra’s just to see your face light up. 😊😊🌺🌺🌹🌹🌷🌷🌸🌸🎄🎄💜💜💘💘💘💐💕💕😍😍💖💖💟💟❤️❤️😘😘💓💓
Great video! It is concise and straight to the point, with lots of quick images of the food and setting. It has all the info you need, including the price tag, google rating, location and whether it serves breakfast, lunch or dinner. And you went through 10 restaurants in 10 minutes!
Going to Paris July 14. We have watched a number of your videos and we like them quite a lot. Detailed nicely, not over done. Pretty much to the point, as a guest for Paris. We are feeling more comfortable with our first trip to the City of Lights. Great job.
Hello guys! Greetings from the US! I love Le Grand Vefour. I went in late September 2013 with 2 friends for lunch(it was a prix fixed menu available lunch time only, more affordable) to celebrate my 40th Birthday. It was an unforgettable experience. The film “Midnight in Paris” had a scene taped in this iconic establishment. I am looking forward to try one of the other options you recommended when I have the opportunity to go back. Thanks a lot for sharing all your experiences with us, much appreciated! Cheers
I enjoy watching your videos on Saturdays, especially when you talk about food. I tried Le Ciel and L'Atelier but for lunch, much more affordable for our budget.
We celebrated my husband 50th birthday (almost 51st) at Madame Brasserie at the Eiffel Tower, it was great experience! It was about 250€ for both of us.
I'm surprised Le Taillevent isn't on the list. Othwerwise I am glad you chose to focus more on the classic vs modern french restaurants for this video.
I was treated with 3 others for lunch at Jules Verne!!! What a wonderful day!! Food was great, tried the babba too. You ride a private elevator to the restaurant and also can go outside to take in the view 😎
We chose Le Procope for it’s history and location. As you show the interior is vintage brass and wood. The meal was very affordable for this level of decor and setting. The staff were very attentive. The Profiteroles were the hit of the night. The only advice I would give is do not order the Coq au Vin as mine was mostly bone, cartilage and skin with very meat at all. Everything else we had was excellent.
Many years ago - I plucked up my courage and marched into the Tour D'Argent without a reservation, and asked if they could squeeze me in. The Maitre D and staff could not have been more charming! They brought me a glass of champagne in the foyer. Explained they were fully booked and couldn't seat me. But told me they'd be happy to call the restaurant down the street where their staff liked to dine. I happily accepted their offer. Maitre D refused payment for my wine, saying it was their pleasure. They then had a busboy walk me down the block to the other restaurant, where I was treated like a king and had an outstanding meal. A memorable night.
That sounds like excellent service! You didn't even dine there but already got such a good service! This is how businesses stay for a long time in the industry. Mannerism is everything.
This is a very good list! Although I think I would squeeze in Le Cinq at the George V. Top tip: If you ask nicely, the amazingly-friendly staff at the Jules Verne will open the door to their private outside deck. Just ring the bell when you are finished. Also, the JV has its own private entrance and elevator, so no waiting in the very long lines with the tourists.
Great list of some of the finest restaurants in Paris! Exceptional! A welcome advantage to the Jules Verne (Eiffel Tower) is the private elvator so no need to wait in line (lunch for the 3 of us was however 800euros...but definitely worth it!) My experience at the Tour d'Argent was not particularly pleasant due to VERY haughty waiters...but the view is spectacular! Two of my favorite restaurants in this category are: Le Taillevent rue Lamennais in the 8th and Restaurant Lasserre avenue Franklin Roosevelt (also in the 8th) across from the Grand Palais. But the "Les Frenchies" selections, in a word, Parfait ! :) And a great service espeially for new or first time visitors to Paris.
Thank you for the glimpse into the interiors, as well as the incredible food, in these fine dining establishments. I doubt that I will ever have the opportunity to dine at most of them as they aren't within my budget. Happy New Year! Bonne Année!
Rather surprised that Le Train Bleu was not on this list. It has become our favorite upscale dining in Paris with, for us anyway, better food than several on your list. But we understand these kinds of “best” lists are subjective.
We were staying almost right next to Laperouse a couple of years ago, walked by it several times a day. Decided it would be the location of our "special" Paris meal. Was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. The food was fine but the atmosphere is what made it special
You might add La Grande Cascade to your part 2 episode. Went last night for their Signature Menu and it was heavenly, staff not only spoke English but were marvelous, all in a beautiful belle Epoque building in the Bois de Boulogne. They really deserve a 2nd star from Michelin!
Visited Paris back in 1988 summer right after high school. Would love to visit one more time since I’ve never visited again. Glad I found your channel!!!
@@LesFrenchiesTravel I definitely would love to visit again. Haven’t traveled since October 2019 just before Covid really got crazy. That trip took me from Budapest to Prague.
Great video (once again)! Thanks for putting so much time and effort into these! Question: Particularly for the really high-end restaurants, is there an actual "dress code"? Is a jacket and tie "required", or just "appreciated" by the management?
Had a friend who went to Savoy and LOVED IT! He planned his entire trip around it. @$4K but he said that was the reason he went to Paris. Yes, Wine was most of that. LOL
Love these restaurant tips..definitely checking one or 2 of them out on my next visit. I would actually give an honorable mention to Le Grand Colbert by the Palais Royale. Was there in May and it was a really elegant restaurant with reasonable prices.
Thank you for the great video! I had a question about " Le Ciel de Paris" restaurant. If you make a reservation for a simple booking on their site, are you also guaranteed a seat with a view?
